Tim Profitt, the genius and former Rand Paul volunteer who stomped on the head and neck of a liberal activist, agrees that an apology is in order:
“I would like for her to apologize to me to be honest with you,” Profitt said.
The police are also to blame.
“Well I’ll just say it, if the police had done what they were supposed to do, it would have never happened,” Profitt said.
The media is also to blame, because as Profitt says, the camera angle made it look worse than it was.
His bad back is also to blame, because you see, “I actually put my foot on her to — I couldn’t bend over because I have issues with my back.”

Will the attacker from the Conway camp also apologize?
“The second occurred after a Conway supporter stepped on the foot of a female Rand supporter, who recently had foot surgery, according to police.
The woman was wearing a surgical boot, but after the injury, her incision was cut open. Police say she refused medical treatment and also filed an assault report.
No arrests were made at the debate broadcast on Kentucky Education Television. No other information is available at this time.”

Nope, by the logic on display in the article Jay linked to…the Rand supporter needs to apologize to CONWAY. You DID read it, didn’t you?

Pea…now exactly what should the police have done? Let’s be precise. The woman had the right to stand there, show her sign and express her opinion. ….Oops maybe you are right, the police should have stopped her attackers right away so she was not chased.

Or do we just take the word of the Rand person? Let’s remember, the clear standard set up by your side is if there is no video, it did not happen.
And we’ll address you so-called point later that somehow this excuses the first attack or that the victim must apologize.

Ah…Leggie…now you understand the point. Lack of video does not mean that it did not happen. But Lewis did have a video which showed reaction.
So now, since you admit there is no video of this alleged attack, the fact that a Rand supporter claims that a Conway supporter stepped on her leg, possibly intentionally and possibly as an accident in a crowded, does not mean that it did or did not occur. You want us to accept her word that it was a purposeful attack by an alleged Conway supported and to draw a conclusion. You accept this claim willy nilly without analysis but you demand more from Lewis. I’d point out the shameful double standard but the Republicans/Tea Mice are beyond anything shameful and live by double standard.
Personally, I have no clue if she was attacked as claimed. We’ve seen false attacks claimed before by supporters. But you demand an apology from an unknown attacker as a condition to an apology from a Rand supporter caught on tape…. be proud of that stance, right?
what is it you say…oh yea..just sayin

USMC, of course government helps to create wealth. It’s silly to argue otherwise.
Construction of the interstates has helped to create enormous wealth.
The city of Atlanta’s decision to invest in Hartsfield-Jackson airport, now the world’s largest, has brought a great deal of prosperity to this region.
Atlanta exists in the first place because back in the 1830s, the Georgia Legislature invested in creation of a new railroad line. We’ve grown to the size we have in part because the federal government built Lake Lanier. And etc. etc. etc.

1) – verb
to speak falsely or utter untruth KNOWINGLY, as with intent to deceive.
2) “To lie is to state something that one KNOWS to be false or that one does not honestly believe to be true with the intention that a person will take it for the truth.
3) Examples:
Jay Bookman is a conservative (a lie)
Jay Bookman’s above photo looks great (a “white” lie)

AmVet, et al. if you can stomach Bill Maher (and O’Reilly), go to YouTube and dig up a clip from 2004 or 2005. Maher was opining about the GOP (neo-con)’s ability to “match” stories of neo-con gaffe’s/ditry tricks, with otherwise unrelates liberal gaffes; for example; the “swiftboating” of John Kerry (a very well-coordinated conservative conspiracy to smear a decorated combat veteran), is juxtaposed with Dan Rather’s poor journalism, which requires an ipso facto tagging if the “liberal media” – and the issues are unilaterally pronounced “a wash” by the right (especially Fox News). same deal here. this a**hole’s actions are indefensible, if not criminal, and before this guy could be ID’d, the lunatic fringe on the right was channeling the ghosts of the New Black Panthers. and just so you know I am not a partisan hack, this is akin to the jab and retreat tactics employed by the Clinton’s in ‘98 and ‘99. rumors of a tryst with an intern surface. Hillary tells Katie Couric, it’s a “right wing conspiracy”, the POTUS looks America in the eye ad avers; “I did not have sexual relations with that woman…” evidence suggests otherwise and before you know it, we’re deliberating the definition of the word “is”. I fully understand why politicians cop to nothing; but I cannot for the life of my understand why people are so quick to issue Mulligans.

Speaking as a woman (something I’m pretty sure you can’t do) there are women serving in combat. Little Miss Green Weenie has, in the past, volunteered for the role of activist. She chose active duty in other words. She was hoping for a medal of honor from MoveON.org.
So I have to ask. Are you in the Cheney camp that says women should not be on the front lines. If so, that’s fine. Cheney’s hot.
Anyhoo, I wonder if the fella in that video called Miss Green Weenie a “wh*re”? If so, the National Organization of Women would be rallying their troops in full support of his manly endeavors.

It is amazing that you so completely miss the point. The plant has been in place for 16 years, but foreign manufacturers have determined it is cheaper to move their operations to the USA because the American worker is the best educated, most productive worker in the world. On top of that, the USA is still 25% of the world’s economy, therefore, their shipping costs will be dramatically reduced along with reworks, returns and recalls while still penetrating the market to maintain and/or increase their market share while raising their profits on the backs of both of us. Don’t you feel good about yourself?

“Have not seen one claim that she actually did anything wrong or hit anyone with her sign.”
I’m not suggesting she hit anyone with the sign, others are, but not me.
“So “her actions” are a figment of your imagination.”
If you think that this woman was silently standing in a corner somewhere, and the mob with pitchforks approached her and gave her the stomping, you need to come back to reality.
“This is just a variation of the rapist defense….”well she deserved it.”
This is so weak, really. Give it a rest.

I would LOVE to answer this one:
If you sign up as a protester in an “No Pre-Marital Sex” Rally, is your main goal to be stomped by the other end’s protestors?
A woman signs up for Active to Duty to “fight for her country” in the capacity relegated to her, but she doesn’t sign up to be bullied, stomped on or used by men as nothing more than chattel. Your analogy between soldiers and protestors is a very poor, weak, and let’s face it, stoooopid one.

sfd, the late Col. David Hackworth, who was at one time America’s most decorated combat veteran, was a proponent of combing ALL branches of the armed forces into on national defense force (like Israel). isn’t this what the “free market” does all the time (M&A)? problem is; there would be less “brass” (Officers) and less opportunity for M-I lobbyists to weasel their way into the feeding trough that is the Pentagon. and to keep this on message, the real X factor with Rand Paul is the DoD portion of the deficit/debt reduction. he seems to lean toward reducing defense spending (and focusing expenditures on true national defense, over here, as opposed to over there), but he doesn’t want to pass up the chance to court the faux libertarian and uniformed quasi-neocon vote.

SFD@2:02pm, I guess the answer to my question is that you don’t know either. As for the Marine Corps, actually disbanding the USMC had been tried several times. In fact right after WWII and the last time was on Truman’s watch where he himself indicated that the Marines should only serve as a police force for the U.S, Navy. Harry Truman ended up apologizing since the Fifth Marine regiment was called into action early in the Korean war when we were about to be pushed off the Korean peninsula. You can google it and read about the Pusan Perimeter as the turning point in that war. There have been no discussions nor efforts since then. During my time 61-67 during the Vietnam era the Marines were recognized as one of the most effective in dealing with the NVA and pretty much carried the war against the North Vietnam army in Northern Quang Tri Province. In recent times you had the Battle for Fallujah hailed by many experts as the most well planned and executed operation
in the Iraq war. The Marines are in a major role in Afghanistan with the surge and have once again performed as a highly regarded military force in that theater. One of my military hero’s happens to be a former Army guy, the late Col. David Hackworth his praise for the United States Marine Corps was loud and clear both during his service and after his retirement. No I don’t think you’ll be seeing the disbanding of the Corps in your lifetime or far beyond. Semper Fi

Voter fraud? The Republicans should be very wary of this subject lest their own actions be brought to light….
“A report by the public-integrity section of the Justice Department found that from October 2002 to September 2005, the department charged 95 people with “election fraud”; 55 were convicted.
Among those, fewer than 20 people were convicted of casting fraudulent ballots, and only 5 were convicted of registration fraud. Most of the rest were charged with other voting violations, including a scheme meant to help Republicans by blocking the phone lines used by two voting groups that were arranging rides to get voters to the polls.”

Waaaaay too much political meaning is being read into this story. The woman that got “stomped” was a troublemaker. Troublemakers tend to get their rear ends kicked on a regualr basis. Other than happening to occur at a political event and the “stomper” being a Paul supporter, this is no different than a guy going into a bar and mouthing off and getting an attitude adjustment. Hopefully she learned her lesson and the media can move onto a real story.

hate inspired his actions and he should be condemned for those actions equally. though worthy of redemption should he try. but when you hear someone saying things like ‘camera angle’ it makes ya think about all those that used ‘it was taken out of context’ to cover for nasty behavior and bad things they have said. good people with good causes can weather dissent without hateful and violent behavior towards those that may disagree, those with unjust messages will always lashout in anger and put downs of their adversary for they truly know their cause is unjust.
you voted for the republican party and you were duped. don’t act violently towards those that only say ‘i told ya so’
i read someon would vote for independents next time if the republicans(when they fail again) fail, but the libertarians and tea party are nothing but closet republicans unable to accept blame and fault. so they make two new political parties that are meaner and dumber than the one that created them. it’s total madness. for that man to beat that lone woman is a great thing of weakness and cowardice, but the bullies will always claim to be tough. always claim to be real men. these same people call themselves religious too, how shameful.

Do you know why there were no Marines (except on board ship) in the European Theater in WWII?
Because they had so embarrassed the Army in WWI (Belleau Wood, etc.) that the Army brass vowed that would never happen again.
Fast forward to the Frozen Chosen and compare what happened to the U.S. Army 7th Division on one side of the resevoir vs. the U.S. Marine Corps 1st Division on the other.

I truly wonder if the Founding Fathers intended our nation to devolve into a social Darwinism, a survival of the fittest exercise. The disdain that the conservatives have for the sustenance of a society overwhelms me. It’s so easy to spout off these hateful invectives; so much more difficult to look a malnourished child of a crack addict in the eye and tell her that her mommy and daddy’s choices have rendered her unworthy of a fellow American’s help. To the conservatives, there is no such thing as America, just a disparate group of individuals lucky enough at that moment to be able to fend for themselves.

Nobody’s head was “stomped”, Jay. Let me tell you what “stomped” is. A female Republican political operative coming out of a Republican meeting in New Orleans was accosted by a group of angry Blacks. They followed her to her car, knocked her to the ground, and stomped her leg, breaking it in several places. Of course there was zero national news coverage about this incident, or about any of the other similar one’s which are becoming increasingly common. If your client’s head had been “stomped”, Bookman, she would have had a concussion or worse. I very seriously doubt that she even has a bruise.
For many years during the 1970’s, I believed the standard line that the threat of totalitarian tyranny was coming from the Right. But I finally realized that I was reading the play backwards. Read “Defeating the Totalitarian Lie”, by Hilmar von Campe, who grew up in Nazi Germany. He says, correctly, that the closest thing to the Nazis today are the radical leftist Democrats and the radical environmentalists.
You know how some colleges have a sacred rivalry, like Georgia vs Georgia Tech, or Navy versus Army? I recall once being in a medium-sized town where one of those games was taking place. A sports reporter for the hometown paper was an alumni of the visiting team. When he showed up in the newsroom wearing his school colors, he was treated a lot more roughly than this woman was- in a playful way, of course.
This incident does not make sense to me. The level of “violence” scarcely approaches that of playful roughhousing, but that does not seem to fit the context. We might could make more sense of it if the video clip was longer, which of course they never are in these trumped up “scandals”. And the same movement was shown repetitively to make it appear that he stepped on her several times. He simply placed his foot on her back to hold her down.

Wow, when you see the rest of the video, and see how this woman shoved her sign into Rand Paul’s open car window, then chased after him with it when he got out of the car, you completely understand how bystanders decided to detain her, and in a fairly peaceful manner. If some woman is trying to shove a wooden stick at my face, I’d appreciate it if bystanders stopped her, too.
After the whole Shirley Sherrod thing, you would think the left would be more careful about jumping to conclusions before getting the whole story. And we’re still waiting for Bookman to condemn the varied lefties that have violently attacked conservatives.
