In honor of those two star-crossed lovers, James O’Keefe and Abbie Boudreau, I thought we’d make seductive love songs our opening theme for tonight’s Friday Night Travelin’ Music.
The classics, of course, would come from folks such as Barry White and Marvin Gaye. In the country genre you could do worse than Willie Nelson and songs such as “You Are Always On My Mind.” Frank Sinatra has set many a romantic mood, as has Billie Holiday.
But you know, even with the right tunes playing, sometimes things just don’t work out the way you planned. With that in mind, here’s tonight kickoff tune, in honor of Jim O’Keefe.

I just don’t get how soft “romantic” music puts people in the mood. Where’s the passion? Where’s the steady, driving beat? Where’s the BASS, fercryinoutloud? OK, TMI and nevermind. I’ll spare y’all my idea of “lock the doors and let’s leave the lights ON!” music.

“Global employment crisis will stir social unrest, warns the UN”.
An interesting way to look at this is that science (and its machines) and the political failure of world socialism are destroying us. The first is an effect of man’s natural curosity and innovation (science and its machines that increase efficiency which results in employing less taxpaying people) and the other (socialism) is the result of a failed 19th century political model which Europe and other countries on other continents have tried with no success. As to the latter, Europe leaders are now wising up but their people, who have been for many years spoiled by their governments policy of creating government jobs where there really were none and the promise of security for life, no matter the persons contribution to society, are revolting. The problem is, when you withhold heroin from an addict (or in this case, government subsidized livelihoods for everybody) they get real mad. The European people are not liking it all and they are striking and marching in the streets because of the austerity measures of their governments and that is what the UN is referring to. I never thought I would ever say it but I have to envy the European leaders and their current austerity measures. They have been down the wealth distribution/socialist road and they learned and now they are trying to change. We, as in America on the other hand are now embracing this very same failed political path through the actions of Obama and his policies of wealth distribution and favours to the unions, his increased Federal hiring and his beloved federally funded projects, all of which are being paid for by deficit spending.
The world (and especially the US), is in for a rough ride because there just isn’t enough money to support the spending by the governments of any nation because both of the things mentioned above ultimately destroy government operating revenue, by one means or another. Think about it. The ironic thing is, our “advances” in both areas may be the undoing of us and I really don’t think we have any REAL leaders present today that are smart enough to solve the problem.
Maybe there was something to be said for the old “horse and buggy” days. At least someone could make a buck for fixing the wheels on the buggy or feeding the horse that pulled the buggy and that buck was the persons own in whole, not a large portion of it allocated by the government to cover losers.

But somehow inexplicably, even then, I had the first inklings that the world was gonna change in some sort of fundamental and wonderful way. And man have I enjoyed the ride.

Candace, Barry’s sister, was going out of her mind trying to protect the graves. We raised 30K for an iron fence so the marble is not being torn up anymore. Candace didnt want it to turn out like Jim Morrisons grave (trashed). Sadly, Gregg refused to acknowledge our pleas for help and contributions…..strange….
