Anybody up for a ‘million moderate march’?

As an American patriot deeply concerned about the direction of this country, I’m thinking about heading up to Washington on Oct. 30 to attend the Rally to Restore Sanity — the “million moderate march,” as Jon Stewart calls it — on the Mall. Anybody else?

And no, I’m not kidding. About any of it.

Of course, Stewart has a great way couching the deeply serious in the deeply humorous. That’s another reason I’m thinking of attending.

As he put it last night:

“You may be asking yourself right now, sitting at home: ‘But am I the right type of person to go to this rally?’ The fact that you would even stop to ask yourself that question, as opposed to just, let’s say, jumping up, grabbing the nearest stack of burnable holy books, strapping on a diaper and just pointing your car toward DC — that means I think you just might be right for it.”

Moderate? Is that the word you use to describe people who supported the massive loss of wealth we’ve experienced over the last few years? The people who supported TARP, Cash For Clunkers, auto bailouts and stimulus, none of which can be proven to have helped anything, and several of which can be proven to be failures, those people are moderate?

Nay. Moderates are the folks that think flushing trillions of dollars down the toilet is a bad idea. Extremists are the ones that supported all the flushing and waste. Last I checked, trillions is an extreme amount of money, not a moderate amount. You are the extremist.

Hoping one of you will do a column on Georgia 400 and how our politicians are once again breaking promises, and this one couldn’t be more black and white. We were promised the toll would end when the road was paid for, it’s paid for, and they want to extend the toll and break their promise.

I Sam Massell supports breaking his own promise, I will do my best to make sure he is remembered not as a great local statesman, but as a liar and a crook who never met a promise he kept. I used to respect the man, but after I read the quotes in the AJC’s article on 400 today, I know realize he’s the biggest scum there is, the kind that made us think he was a good man while he was treating us with scorn the entire time. Liar!!!!

Granny: The elected officials of the GOP supported TARP. The people that voted for them did NOT, and that’s why there’s a Tea Party, because fiscal conservatives were first betrayed by the GOP with TARP, and then had to watch Obama and the Dems waste even more money. I’m railing against all those who supported TARP, and nothing in my initial comment mentioned Dems or GOP or right or left, and don’t act like the Democrats didn’t support TARP, because you know they did, and you’re straight out lying to act like it was all the GOP.

LOL. Stewart’s idea is a great one, but Bookman’s hypocrisy is laughable. He and Tucker represent two of the partisan voices that lead to extremism. Jay and Cyndi’s “professional” careers are as dedicated to partisan demagoguery as are Limbaugh’s and Beck’s. Bookman would only be marching against himself and his colleagues.

It is nice that the left suddenly cares about moderation. Where were they during the Bush years? Their cynical “change of heart” is pathetic, particularly when they continue to deny their own ongoing extremist elements.

What does the new-found advocate of moderation think about Cyndi’s column yesterday, entitled “The GOP is now a party of know-nothing flat-earthers”.

Now if a conservative pundit were to make such a broad and ignorant personal attack on the Democratic party, Jay would rightfully call them out as extremists. It’s all good when a liberal (particularly his colleague) does the same.

People like “stands for decibels” are the target audience for Bookman and Beck: people who want daily evidence to demonstrate that the people who don’t share their narrow minded political views are dumb, evil or dumb and evil. You know, deeply intolerant people. Jay and Beck make their money of them. Beck is just much better at it, probably because he (unlike Jay) is not in denial about what he is.

Yeah, well Beck actually creates content. Bookman and Cyndi are lazy copiers and pasters of the work of others. Even when they write “original” pieces, they are always paraphrasing of arguments made by other (less lazy) pundits.

If the AJC wants to run partisan trash, it should at least syndicate the Times pundits instead of just waiting for Jay and Cyndi to crib their ideas.

So let me get this straight. The Left tries hard to discredit Beck’s event and calls all who attend as loons. So the counter is to have someone who is a star of a satirical show on Comedy Central have a counter-event and call that credible? Seriously? So all of the vitriol spewed about how pathetic Beck’s event was goes into an equally pathetic event. Oh the irony. “We’ll respond with your loon convention with an equally loony convention.” Amazing the standards.

Does anyone recall who what Administration was in power at the time?
If you answer George W. Bush, does that follow with the caveat “…the Dems controlled the House?”
