Sharron Angle tells an inconvenient truth of her own

Sharron Angle, the GOP candidate trying to defeat Harry Reid in Nevada, explaining on Fox News why she only agrees to be interviewed  on places such as Fox News:

My favorite reaction so far comes from the conservative National Review, where an incredulous Elizabeth Crum asks:

“Did she really say this out loud?”

Yup. Loud and proud.

@saul.. i read this on the plane.. gotta do something for 5 hours..

“The story, written by reporter Jonathan Strong, detailed how a group of liberal journalists, activists, and academics who made up an online discussion group called JournoList responded after presidential candidate Barack Obama was questioned during a televised debate concerning a video that showed his pastor and friend, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, making incendiary, racist, and anti-American remarks from his pulpit.

The liberal writers and eggheads were livid over how the moderators of the debate, ABC’s Charles Gibson and George Stephanopoulos, cornered Obama and insisted that he explain why he had waited nearly a year after the damaging video had surfaced to condemn the African-American pastor’s remarks. “Do you think Reverend Wright loves America as much as you do?” Stephanopoulos asked the future President.

Strong wrote that the tough questioning outraged the discussion group, prompting one of them, Richard Kim of The Nation, to call Stephanopoulos a “little rat snake” for not soft-peddling on an issue most Americans wanted to know more about.

“Others went further,” reported Strong, showing how members of JournoList allegedly “took radical steps to protect their favored candidate.” Continued Strong, “Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon, and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage.”

True, gotta admire Palin for saying whatever comes into her mind.

However, she is now part left-right paradigm of the “establishment”, when she endorsed the two “elites”, John McAmnesty and Rick Perry, (who only postures on illegals, while supporting their in-state tuition and anti- HB1070, not to mention his huge efforts using eminent domain for the NAU Superhighway), she lost all respect, in my book.

She’s just another political hack, trying to get her “side” fired up…. she dumped her principles when she endorsed the two RINO’s and showed herself to be just another party hack.

Also, she just up and quit the job she was elected to do. That tells me enough about her. I actually think she is unstable.

Jay

Union, I was pretty dismayed by that Journolist story as well, because it didn’t sound anything like journalism as I know it and try to practice it.

That dismay lessened a bit once I realized that most of its members — and all of those quoted re: Rev. Wright, etc., — were not mainstream media people but activists, oped writers, think tank employees, etc. The Baltimore Sun person mentioned, for example, is not a reporter or editor but Thomas Schaller, a fulltime poli sci professor who writes a column on the side for the Sun. The Time person mentioned was Joe Klein, a columnist. A few Politico staffers apparently were members who monitored the listserv conversation, but took little to no part in the discussion.

No newspaper or network reporters or editors were involved, as far as I can tell. They were largely political activists who write, as opposed to what I would call the working press.

“Is Harriet Myers available?”

hehe….

Too bad we don’t have Supreme Court Judge Harriet Miers sitting on our highest bench… I mean…even nominating her was like admitting being a complete dufus. Yet Jeff Sessions said this about Obama’s nominees for the Supreme Court:

http://blog.buzzflash.com/honors/323

” The top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama, likewise found Miers’ qualifications suitable five years ago: “It is not necessary that she have previous experience as a judge in order to serve on the Supreme Court,” Sessions said. “It’s perfectly acceptable to nominate outstanding lawyers to that position.”

But on Monday, Sessions was seeing things differently. Kagan, he said, “warrants great scrutiny” because of her lack of time as a judge. “Ms. Kagan’s lack of judicial experience and short time as solicitor general … is troubling,” he said.:

Oh and THAT GUY himself…let’s read together:
Twenty-three years ago he was engaged in the fight of his life. He was appointed a U.S. attorney in Alabama in 1981 and was nominated to become a U.S. District judge by President Ronald Reagan in 1986. J. Gerald Hebert, a career Justice Department lawyer, testified that Sessions had once called the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the American Civil Liberties Union “un-American” and “Communist-inspired.” He said that they “forced civil rights down the throats of people.” He sealed his own fate by saying such groups could be construed as “un-American” when “they involve themselves in promoting un-American positions” in foreign policy. He is said to have made remarks that he thought the Ku Klux Klan wasn’t so bad until he found out that some of them smoked marijuana. He said these comments were made in jest. Right.

Sessions faced a heated round of questioning from Sen. Edward Kennedy, who called him “a throwback to a shameful era,” and our current Vice President, Joe Biden. How ironic. The committee held four hearings during one of which Sessions pleaded that “I am not a racist.” Hebert also testified that Sessions had called a white civil rights lawyer a “disgrace to his race” for litigating voting rights cases. His nomination failed in committee on a 10 to 8 vote, with Specter joining the nominee’s original patron, Sen. Howell Heflin (D-Ala.) in dooming the nomination. In 1994, Sessions won a state attorney general’s race, and then won election to the Senate in 1996 after Heflin retired.

Still, there’s more throwback theater on Sessions. He had unsuccessfully prosecuted three civil rights workers, known as the “Marion Three,” including Albert Turner, who was a former aide to Martin Luther King Jr., on a case of election fraud for the 1984 election. He spent a long time interrogating black voters in predominantly black counties, finding 14 allegedly tampered ballots out of approximately 1.7 million ballots cast. The three civil rights workers were acquitted after four hours of jury deliberation. Civil rights groups charged that Sessions had been looking for voter fraud in the black community while overlooking the same violations among whites, at least partly to help reelect his friend Senator Denton.

Sorry for the long copy/paste….yet it’s THIS guy who somehow is on our Judicial Committee.

Too bad I didn’t have him as my “dad”… I mean… I can only imagine having dinner discussions with him as a youth…most of all if I brought my friend from school “Julio Sanchez” to dinner…
