Newt Gingrich has become, frankly, a hate-mongering bigot

Newt Gingrich went on Fox last night to peddle more of his hateful, vile garbage regarding the so-called “Ground Zero Mosque,” which is not at ground zero and is not a major mosque, but an Islamic community center.

“The idea of a 13-story building set up by a group many of whom, frankly, are very hostile to our civilization — and I’m talking now about the people who organized this, many of whom are apologists for sharia, which is a form of law that I think we cannot allow in this country, period,” Gingrich said.

Once again, my longstanding Gingrich Rule proves valid. Whenever the man utters the word “frankly,” what follows is almost always the opposite of frank speech. It is instead absolute baloney. In this case, he alleges that many of the people involved in the proposal to build the Islamic center “frankly, are very hostile to our civilization.”

That’s a serious charge, and neither Gingrich nor anyone else has provided any evidence whatsoever that it is true. With inflammatory remarks of this sort, Gingrich makes Joe McCarthy look measured and responsible.

Any grudging respect I once held for the man is now gone.

There is no such thing as grudging respect. You respect something or you do not. And I guess I missed it but where is the bigotry. To say many muslims want to harm us? To say that many Arabs want to harm us?

Tell you what. Lets build a Jewish synagogue in Iran, and see how that works. I remember during the flag debate, liberals were all over symbolism. Any evidence of life before the Civil War had to be erased, and one was the devil himself if he dared say he was proud of his heritage. This is all about symbolim, not about bigotry.

1. McCarthy was always more measured and responsible than the left gave him credit. He was a zealot and was often out of line, but his accusations were based on credible FBI intelligence.

2. I call a 13 story community center 2 blocks from ground zero a major mosque at ground zero.

3. Newt should have backed up his accusations with facts as the accusations were being made.

People of the Muslim faith and culture killed thousands and destroyed the twin towers. The expressed goal of this center was to promote a cuddly feeling between each other. It isn’t working. If the goals were so altruistic the proponents would have excused themselves and sought a less controversial location. They have not, they just push harder. Muslims do not practice alternate faith tolerance. We, on the other hand, want to take tolerance to its’ inevitable ending point, surrender.

I had Newt as a professor at West Georgia, where I had a chance to see an actual,NeoCon transformation, from “liberal” Democrat, 180° to tight-fisted, withholding Republican, when a convenient seat opened up, and the prevailing political winds seemed beneficial. At his weekly card game with friends, he reportedly cheated, regularly and badly, a habit extended to all of his (now ex) wives. Greedy ambition virtually defines this sociopath, whose identity problems from his tumultuous past dog him with a vengeance until yet. Newt actually created the current paralytic acrimony in our government at the birth of CSPAN, spewing seamless vitriol against opponents to an empty house chamber during dinner hours. “Go negative early” he cajoled his colleagues, with his black political skulduggery dovetailing nicely with Karl Rove’s brilliant re-working of Goebbels, Stalin and Mussolini’s time-tested techniques, updated with tweaked and digitized Atwater push-poll exercises.
What a demonic team! There has never been a better one at what they do, and a national propaganda network at their disposal makes things tres-efficient.

Should the front row center seat in the White House press briefing room go to FOX News or NPR?

They’ll decide next Monday

FOX News is a right-wing propaganda operation, not a legitimate news organization. Award the seat vacated by Helen Thomas to NPR, which has provided public interest coverage of the presidency and the White House for almost four decades.

Dear Friend,

In just a few days, the White House Correspondents Association will decide which news organization will be awarded the seat recently vacated by Helen Thomas. The news organizations most actively vying for the seat are FOX, NPR and Bloomberg News.

Tell the White House Correspondents Association: Give the best seat in the briefing room to NPR, not FOX!

FOX News is a right-wing propaganda outlet, not a legitimate news agency.

In recent weeks the network has turned the volume up on its race-baiting political agenda. The media assault on Shirley Sherrod is just a latest in a series of racist and politically motivated attacks on targets like Van Jones, ACORN, and Eric Holder’s Department of Justice.

It’s bad enough that we have to fight the constant smear campaigns and appeals to racial paranoia from FOX and the right-wing media. We can’t let them have the best seat in the White House press briefing room and the legitimacy that it confers.

NPR has had a full time White House correspondent since the 1970s. The public radio network regularly reaches 27 million listeners with its news programming.

The Board of the White House Correspondents Association will make its final decision during its upcoming board meeting on Monday, August 2. So it’s urgent that we take action on behalf of NPR now.

Thank you for working for a better world.

The problem is that the dispersants that were used have caused the oil to, well, disperse. That does not mean it has disappeared. It is under the surface of the water and, therefore, not where the skimmers could do anything. The long-term results of the oil spill are still very much uncertain.

Saul,
What I meant by a christian country are two things. Our country was established by those western europeans who were overwhelmingly christian and all polling that I have seen indicates the country is still predominantly christian. I do not consider myself religious. As far as the constitution and religious freedom goes there are now and have always been constraints on what constitutes a religion and what the members of any religion may do in their religions name. The language of the constitution, no matter how well thought out and all encompassing, can ever compete with someone who is truly looking to have it undone. It becomes a weapon of its own destruction. We have had a decent few hundred years.

Eyes Rasmussen had it at 63% of “Other” respondents (neither white nor black), and owing to the larger demographic of Hispanics to Asians and Native Americans (and a smaller sampling of all three), it was extrapolated to be just below 50%. Rasmussen polls likely voters, (i.e. citizens) so their number may in fact be more representative.

Truth be told… the World Trade Center was a mirror of our society with regards to social make up… all were represented there…whites, blacks, asians, hispanics, chistians, jews, muslims, hindus, rich, middle class, and poor (etc…)…they ALL worked in those buildings to make that place tick…

Those who think that Muslims were not murdered that day along with all the rest are not facing reality. Those buildings were simply a microcosm of our society here in the USA. The Trade Center was probably as close to being on par with the make up of our nation and those residing in our borders as one could have found anywhere within our borders.

It saddens me to think that there are some who think that others who worshiped the Muslim faith were not killed… or that just as many did not rush in as responders to try and save lives.

I was in NYC the day it happened (and stuck there for over a week before I could get home)… I saw what “good” humans can do when they simply reach across all boundaries and see others as “humans” first and all else last… so sad that it all ended… the “humanity” first” and labels second… I can see how at times I too since then have come to forget what mattered most…. humans simply helping humans in a time of need………….

Hispanics take Aim at Arizona Law SB 1070

PHOENIX (By Jerry Speer, Washington Times) May 17, 2010 ― The new Arizona immigration law has yet to take effect, but it already has galvanized Hispanic voters to become more actively involved in the political process, according to two recent telephone polls.
Arizona’s Hispanic voters overwhelmingly oppose the law, which takes effect this summer and authorizes state police to arrest anyone reasonably suspected of being an illegal immigrant.

But Hispanics are increasingly frustrated by federal inaction on comprehensive immigration reform and are moving swiftly away from candidates who support the Arizona law, the polls said

Key findings included that 81 percent of Arizona’s Hispanic voters oppose SB 1070. Since the bills passage, the polls found, immigration reform has become the leading issue among Hispanic voters, shooting up by 16 percentage points and moving ahead of the economy and health care as the leading issue among Hispanic voters.

BTW…here’s whom the LAW should be going after….not the laborers…

…from the Arizona Republic:

Most Arizona employers aren’t using E-Verify
by Jahna Berry – Jul. 28, 2010 12:00 AM
The Arizona Republic .
Despite a state law requiring businesses to verify that all new employees are legal workers, only about half of new hires in Arizona have been vetted by a federal system that checks their status.

About a third of the state’s estimated 100,000 employers have signed up for the E-Verify program.

The state’s employer-sanctions law, which took effect more than two years ago, requires employers to use the free online federal system to check the legal status of all new employees. Those who don’t risk losing their business licenses if they employ an illegal worker.

But federal employment data and figures from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services requested by The Arizona Republic suggest hundreds of thousands of workers have been hired without being checked against federal records.

Any new hire made starting Jan. 1, 2008, that was not checked against E-Verify would be a violation of the law known as the Legal Arizona Workers Act.

During E-Verify’s most recent full fiscal year, which ended in September 2009, Arizona employers made more than 1.3 million new hires but ran just 730,000 E-Verify checks.

Some businesses would prefer not to check the legal status of their workers. Many others probably intend to hire only legal workers and aren’t bothering with the program.

Useful Idiots: Islam’s Best Soldiers Islam enjoys a large and influential ally among the non-Muslims: A new generation of “Useful Idiots,” that Lenin identified as those who lived in liberal democracies and furthered the work of communism. This new generation of Useful Idiots also lives in liberal democracies but serves the cause of Islamofascism—another virulent form of totalitarian ideology.

Useful Idiots are naïve, foolish, ignorant of facts, unrealistically idealistic, dreamers, willfully in denial or deceptive. They hail from the ranks of the chronically unhappy, the anarchists, the aspiring revolutionaries, the neurotics who are at war with life, the disaffected alienated from government, corporations, and just about any and all institutions of society. The Useful Idiot can be a billionaire, a movie star, an academe of renown, a politician, or from any other segment of the population.

Arguably, the most dangerous Useful Idiot is the “Politically Correct.” He is the master practitioner of euphemism, hedging, doubletalk, and outright deception.

The Useful Idiot derives satisfaction from being anti-establishment. He finds perverse gratification in aiding the forces that aim to dismantle an existing order, whatever it may be: an order he neither approves of nor he feels he belongs to.

The Useful Idiot is conflicted and dishonest. He fails to look inside himself and discover the causes of his own problems and unhappiness while he readily enlists himself in causes that validate his distorted perception.

Understandably, it is easier to blame others and the outside world than to examine oneself with an eye to self-discovery and self-improvement. Furthermore, criticizing and complaining—liberal practices of the Useful Idiot—require little talent and energy. The Useful Idiot is a great armchair philosopher and “Monday Morning Quarterback.”

The Useful Idiot is not the same as a person who honestly has a different point of view. A society without honest and open differences of views is a dead society. Critical, different and fresh ideas are the life blood of a living society—the very anathema of autocracies where the official position is sacrosanct.

Even the “normal” spends a great deal more energy aiming to fix things out there than working to overcome his own flaws and shortcomings, or contribute positively to the larger society. People don’t like to take stock of what they are doing or not doing that is responsible for the conditions they disapprove.

The Useful Idiot, among other things, is a master practitioner of scapegoating. He assigns blame to others while absolving himself of responsibility, has a long handy list of candidates for blaming anything and everything, and by living a distorted life, he contributes to the ills of society.

The Useful Idiot may even engage in willful misinformation and deception when it suits him. Terms such as “Political Islam,” or “Radical Islam,” for instance, are contributions of the Useful Idiot. These terms do not even exist in the native parlance of Islam, simply because they are redundant. Islam, by its very nature and according to its charter—the Quran—is a radical political movement. It is the Useful Idiot who sanitizes Islam and misguides the populace by saying that the “real Islam” constitutes the main body of the religion; and, that this main body is non-political and moderate.

Or that the Mayor of NYC and the zoning board, dare “recognize” the the rights of others. As others have pointed out, the number of Christian churches in Tehran or Rihyad has no bearing on the number (or location) of mosques in NYC. but don’t blame Newt, or Sarah, or even Fox News; they’re answering to a higher power (naked greed and lust for power) and they will sing any song to acheive that end. and Obama is no different. the “issues” may be different, or the “fears” (climate change, unemployment, healthcare) may be different, but it’s about votes, not terrorsim.

ISLAM IS NOT A RELIGION! IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS, MILITANT AND BARBARIC CULT, WHOSE CORE PRINCIPLES ARE IN DIRECT CONFLICT WITH THE PRINCIPLES OF THE UNITED STATES. MOSQUES ARE MILITARY CENTERS AND SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED ANYWHERE.

ISLAM DOE S NOT ALLOW FOR:

FREEDOM OF SPEECH
FREEDOM OF RELIGION
IMPOSES CRUEL & UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT (HOMOSEXUALS ARE TO BE KILLED, FORNICATORS WHIPPED, THIEVES TO HAVE HAND CHOPPED OFF)
THERE IS NO SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE UNDER ISLAM

GOOGLE: AMERICAN THINKER SHARIA LAW

IS THIS WHAT YOU BELIEVE? DO YOU BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH WHEN CRITICIZING THE VIOLENT TEACHINGS OF MUHAMMAD?

DO YOU BELIEVE WOMEN SHOULD BE BEATEN BY THEIR HUSBANDS?

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT HOMOSEXUALS SHOULD BE KILLED?

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT ANYONE WHO DENOUNCES ISLAM AND BECOMES A SECULAR PERSON OR CONVERTS TO ANOTHER RELIGION SHOULD BE MURDERED – AS REQUIRED UNDER ISLAMIC LAW, WHICH WAS BASED ON THE TEACHINGS OF MUHAMMAD?

IF YOU BELIEVE THESE THINGS, THEN YOU ARE A FOLLOWER OF MUHAMMAD AND YOU WILL BE ON AN INEVITABLE PATH TO VIOLENCE AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SUBSCRIBE THE PRINCIPLES OF FREEDOM – EVER.

At least Newt Gingrich is actually an American who loves his country (unlike our current president who lied to the American people and who is not even a citizen!) And why would someone think he’s a bigot just because he doesn’t approve of building a shrine to honor the very ideals that killed over 2000 American people in that very spot only 9 years ago.

You either support building a temple of Islam in the former shadow of buildings destroyed in the name of Islam, or you are a bigot.

Black and white thinking! Catch the wave!

Oh puhleeze. Just another example of 2012 Republican nominees doing their best to get their mugs on TV and appear concerned and outraged and oh-so-super-duper-American. Self-serving blather. Why doesn’t the press make them feel shame? What does Newt’s opinion on this non-story MATTER? You’re all colluding to make news out of nothing.

Jay Bookman,

I suggest you read this before you accuse Newt Gingrich of bigotry for speaking agianst Jihadists or the ADL of abandoning its principals for opposing this thing again,

The Ground Zero Mosque Developer: Muslim Brotherhood Roots, Radical Dreams

http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/the-ground-zero-mosque-developer-muslim-brotherhood-roots-radical-dreams/

By the way, I don’t care if the people who want it built are not calling it a mosque, its a mosque, just by another name. Also how is Newt being a bigot when he specifically comes out and says that he does think that all Muslims are extremists or mean us harm?

Sorry, what I meant to say in my last sentence was, “Also how is Newt being a bigot when he specifically comes out and says that he does not think that all Muslims are extremists or mean us harm?” Sorry, I left that word out the first time.

Hass,

You said there are eleven Synagogues in Tehran
Can you site your source on that? Also how many Synagogues are there in Saudi Arabia?

According to the Acid Test for Bigotry:

http://www.politicalislam.com/blog/the-acid-test-for-islamophobia/

If you learn MORE about the people you become LESS bigoted. But with orthodox Islam, the more you learn the less comfortable you are with it, which means it is not bigotry but reasonable caution, reasonable aversion to a supremacist doctrine that some take very seriously. Bigotry is an easy word to throw around, but its purpose is to suppress free speech rather than say something with any content.

Newt actually does not go far enough, these people are not the so called “radical muslims” these people are following the Koran as it is written and the way it is supposed to be followed. Islam is the problem!

The entire Muslim faith can’t be blamed for what 20 some odd Muslim men did. That would be like condemning any Christian church from being built near a recent abortion clinic bombing. It’s not like the government is forcing this church into someone’s neighborhood. The local government approved this private building!

@John

You could make the same argument about Christianity and the old testament with all it’s violent teachings. There are moderate Muslims who don’t follow the Koran word for word. Just like there are moderate Christians who don’t bomb abortion clinics in the name of god.

Newt is not a bigot and he is voicing the opinion of the majority of Americans. A mosque at/near ground zero is a symbol of victory for Islam.

We are like sheep volunteering to be lead to slaughter. Please read all of this.

Islamization begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their religious privileges. When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse societies agree to Muslim demands for their religious privileges, some of the other components tend to creep in as well.
Here’s how it works:

As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part be regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. This is the case in:

United States — Muslim 0.6%
Australia — Muslim 1.5%
Canada — Muslim 1.9%
China — Muslim 1.8%
Italy — Muslim 1.5%
Norway — Muslim 1.8%

At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs. This is happening in:

Denmark — Muslim 2%
Germany — Muslim 3.7%
United Kingdom — Muslim 2.7%
Spain — Muslim 4%
Thailand — Muslim 4.6%

From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves — along with threats for failure to comply. This is occurring in:

France — Muslim 8%
Philippines — 5%
Sweden — Muslim 5%
Switzerland — Muslim 4.3%
The Netherlands — Muslim 5.5%
Trinidad & Tobago — Muslim 5.8%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law.The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris , we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam, with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Such tensions are seen daily, particularly in Muslim sections in:

Guyana — Muslim 10%
India — Muslim 13.4%
Israel — Muslim 16%
Kenya — Muslim 10%
Russia — Muslim 15%

After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches, Hindu Temples and Jewish synagogues, such as in:
Ethiopia — Muslim 32.8%

At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare, such as in:

Bosnia — Muslim 40%
Chad — Muslim 53.1%
Lebanon — Muslim 59.7%

From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels, such as in:

Albania — Muslim 70%
Malaysia — Muslim 60.4%
Qatar — Muslim 77.5%
Sudan — Muslim 70%

After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been experienced and in some ways is on-going in:

Bangladesh — Muslim 83%
Egypt — Muslim 90%
Gaza — Muslim 98.7%
Indonesia — Muslim 86.1%
Iran — Muslim 98%
Iraq — Muslim 97%
Jordan — Muslim 92%
Morocco — Muslim 98.7%
Pakistan — Muslim 97%
Palestine — Muslim 99%
Syria — Muslim 90%
Tajikistan — Muslim 90%
Turkey — Muslim 99.8%
United Arab Emirates — Muslim 96%

100% will usher in the peace of ‘Dar-es-Salaam’ — the Islamic House of Peace. Here there’s supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrasahs are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in:

Afghanistan — Muslim 100%
Saudi Arabia — Muslim 100%
Somalia — Muslim 100%
Yemen — Muslim 100%

Unfortunately, peace is never achieved, as in these 100% states the most radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred, and satisfy their blood lust by killing less radical Muslims, for a variety of reasons.
So let’s just open our arms and invite the enemy in. WAKE UP AMERICA, Quit dreaming of peace with these people!

There’s a party going on at Newt’s place (www.newt.org). He’s issued a statement on Prop 8 defending traditional marriage which is pretty funny. What’s funnier is that he’s asked for comments.

There’s 100s. Hee hee. Best so far is “Which one of your multiple marriages was the most sacred to you?”
