Feeling run down? A little ‘young blood’ might fix you right up

Dr. Amy Wagers. (The rumor that Wagers is actually 62 years old has not, repeat not, been substantiated.)

It sounds like something out of a bad movie. But Amy Wagers and other researchers at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute and Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston have found a way to reverse signs of aging in older mice.

“They recovered functions not quite to ‘young’ levels but really quite significantly, and easily, easily distinguishable from older animals that didn’t see this ‘young blood’ within their tissues,” Wagers said.

From Technology Review:

In the experiment, Wagers and team surgically connected the circulatory systems of two mice, allowing older animals to be exposed to blood–and all the molecules and cells it carries– from young animals. They found that the procedure made the blood-forming stem cells in older animals act young again; the overall number of these cells decreased, and the cells generated different varieties of blood cells in more appropriate ratios. “In aged animals, many of the changes we see normally that are associated with age were reversed,” said Wagers.

Republicans Dismayed By Obama’s Strong Performance, Say It Was A ‘Mistake’ To Let Cameras Roll

If the cameras hadn’t been rolling, there would be all kinds of unsubstantiated stories coming out of that meeting.

Cornyn Hypocritically Accuses Democrats Of ‘Hysterical’ Reaction To Right-Wing Judicial Activism

Senator Cornhole thinks that the Supreme Court must be members of his party, which is more important than this nation.

Membership in the Nazi Party was esteemed much more greatly than German citizenship, and republicant party membership today is seen as a valid sign of being American.

This activist Supreme Court has been on a roll since they installed George W. Bush as President, and they are anxious for more corporate control and religious strictures on this nation.

Folks, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!

CBS Allows Focus On The Family Advocacy Ad During Super Bowl, But Bans Gay Dating Site Ad

To make matters worse, the ad advocating anti-choice is false!

In the Philippines, abortion is (or was at that time) forbidden in all circumstances — the woman had no choice – so to say she “chose” not to abort is not true in fact.

I am disgusted that the so-called pro-lifers are only pro-choice if the woman chooses to have the baby – if she chooses not to, they would deny her that choice.

So it isn’t a choice to them at all, is it? It’s an order.

Too many pro-lifers are pro-death penalty, pro-war and anti-health care for maternity, neonatal, and child care.

What’s that word again?

HYPOCRITES!

Dusty,

You count as #1 on this page. That exact post and link from Jenifer shows up on every thread so it doesn’t count.

Hey! Maybe the IT folks can start randomizing which column our comments show up under too. For that matter, why stop there. Post a comment here and scour all the AJC blogs to find it. Imagine the page counts they could generate before everybody gave up.

In December 1994, Bill Clinton proposed a so-called middle-class bill of rights including more tax credits for families with children, expanded retirement accounts, and tax-deductible college tuition. Clinton had lost his battle for healthcare reform. Even worse, by that time the Dems had lost the House and Senate. Washington was riding a huge anti-incumbent wave. Right-wing populists were the ascendancy, with Newt Gingrich and Fox News leading the charge. Bill Clinton thought it desperately important to assure Americans he was on their side.–Robert Reich in Salon.

That was quite a trick since Fox News didn’t come into existence until October 7, 1996. Libs and their Fox fears are so funny. Salon got around to correcting the story two days later.

RW,

Jenifer defintely needs some new and different propaganda. Granny Godzilla may have some stored away in a closet from her previous DNC work. USinUK seems to have a genersous supply and might loan Jenifer some. Or she could check the comics. Something new is definitely needed.

Surprise! Income Inequality Bad For Your Health. And The Nation’s.

This country has a very dysfunctional idea of success and prosperity. To too many Americans, those things mean having something other people don’t. That’s no way to build a healthy, thriving society where all members can genuinely have life, liberty and the chance to pursue their own happiness. It is, however, exactly what has given us today’s GOP and all the damage they have delivered onto this country – politically, socially, culturally, economically.

If there are 34% as whacked out as Jenifer we’re in deep trouble unless you just mean 34% of bloggers.

Great line from that Baltimore meeting by Jeb Henserling (R-Tx)

I find myself agreeing with about 80 percent of what he says, I just tend to disagree with about 80 percent of what he does.

Phooey,,.here I was ready to bring sweetness and light and what should I find,,,Jay’s posted the night thread and I can’t join in there since I didn’t go see any new movies. I tend to think that anyone that can’t question either party belongs in the numbers, there is just no way either party is right about all their policies.

I don’t know anybody that never questions anything about the party they generally support or even always vote for. The whack jobs don’t even do that, They’ll go to the Green Party or whatever party Ralph Nader is calling home from time to time.

I agree, but I think there are becoming more and more that will defend at all cost, without really thinking about it. I went from one to the other to none, as the parties are all about themselves.

“Jenifer” is bound by chains of her own making. She can’t step outside the bounds of those chains because they won’t allow her to. She is the classic shut-in/isolated personality looking for relavency in a world that couldn’t give a crap about what she thinks. But even knowing this, she spends 12 hours a day (or more) here spewing writing of things that will amount to nothing. The people that “matter” are not listening to her and she is frustrated. She has to lash out at somebody. Southerners, conservatives, whatever. Pity her.
