Here’s a group that few if any of you have heard of, but if you give it a listen, I think you’ll like it. I first heard them back in the ’70s, when my dad was stationed overseas. The group is called Osibisa, based in London, and you might describe it as a grittier, rootsier version of Earth Wind and Fire. Osibisa had a bit of a cult following back then, and I still listen to their music today.
After wearing out a couple of their LPs, I finally got the chance to hear them play in a small dancehall in Munich, and boy did they bring that place to life!! Who knew those Germans could dance?
(Actually, they couldn’t.)

Jay, thanks for posting the Price exchange. I watched it live. They both seemed to be utilizing their manners, which I appreciate. The elephant in the room nobody pointed out was this: THESE Republicans have been telling their constituents for more than a year that they’ll “oppose Obama” on whatever he tries to do. They’re the ones trying to paint HC reform as a “bolshevic plot” as the president noted. They stood up at town hall meetings and declared that Obama would NEVER succeed in this endeavor, then they hold up their “ideas and proposals” as evidence that he doesn’t want to work with them. Why would you take someone seriously on their offer to help you when they stood up and said they’d NEVER let you succeed?

The “Mothra” intro is a bit much. George Clinton and Parliament makes this bunch look like a high school band.
Today Obama proclaimed “I am not an ideologue”. Naaah, he’s not an idologue. Just because he patterns everything he does after some progressive playbook written by neo-communists and socialists doesn’t make him an ideologue, now does it? For purely ideological leaders that have obvious flaws like Obama, humility plays best to the American people because if displayed sincerely it shows that the leader, like the people themselves, are the same (i.e, human). Obama doesn’t have 1 gram of humility in his body and that is going to be his and his party’s undoing.

No, you didn’t mention that – so now every time it rains you can think of me and how my fine products are saving you. How pleasant a thought.
Bosch,
Actually it’s just when there’s no need for them that they sit there saying Bosch—-Bosch, once they’re in action the name seems to go away. Perhaps that’s a design flaw you may want to have looked after.
I Report (-: You Whine )-: mmm, mmmm, mmmmm!

Guess who-
The talk about climate change is not an intellectual indulgence. Rather, it is a reality. All of the industrialized countries, and especially the large ones, bear the responsibility for the crisis of the greenhouse effect. Most of them, though, rallied around the Kyoto accords, and agreed to limits on emissions of harmful gases. However Bush Jr., and Congress before him, rejected this accord in order to please the large corporations, which are themselves the ones responsible for [market] speculation, monopolies, and the rise in the cost of living. And they are behind globalization and its tragic consequences. Then, when these criminals’ own evil deeds did them in, the heads of state rush to rescue them with public funds.
It’s al-Gore, right?
Wrong.
Obama Bin Biden?
Nope, getting closer though.
That’s right, it’s Osama bin Laden, who also wants to destroy the United States.
He’s on board with the socialists, hahahaha, just sayin….

Three day suspension, but they got paid to play a lot of high school parties after that. Younger Boy, little smart a**, went back and asked the principal if she wanted the 10% agent’s fees…had to answer for that one, too! She should have taken it. Probably more than she was getting with her PhD! He does studio work now. Proud of him…and you know what the best part was? Being the drummer, of course, the band met in our garage and my only rule was that they practice when it wouldn’t offend the neighbors…they always did and the neighbors came to complement. They always made sure they played a few “old folks” selections just for them!

His solo starts around the 3:20 mark. The big difference between him and Buddy is that Buddy did his drumming from what’s called the “traditional” grip. Neil plays with a matched grip, which is easier to play faster, more complex stuff.
