A little while from now, President Barack Obama will stand before the U.S. Congress and deliver the most importantest, hugest speech ever in American or even Kenyan history, the speech that will either elevate Obama into the ranks of the greatest to ever hold his high office or doom him to spending the rest of recorded time listed among the utter failures such as what’shisname — no not the older one, his son. You know, the name that cannot be uttered unless you want to be accused of bringing up ancient history, even though the people who say that also spend the rest of their lives mumbling “JimmycarterJimmycarterJimmycarter…”
Or maybe it’s not such an important speech after all, says Gallup:
“As Barack Obama prepares to give his first State of the Union address as president, a review of Gallup historical data suggests these speeches rarely affect a president’s public standing in a meaningful way, despite the amount of attention they receive. Among recent presidents, only Bill Clinton seemed to reap a public-opinion benefit from the yearly ritual, with an average 3 percentage-point increase across his seven State of the Union speeches.”

Oh well. I think I’ll watch anyway, just to keep an eye on that Joe Wilson fellow.

I notice one Gov. Bob McDonnell (R-VA) is going to give the republican response. Are we going to see another idjit like Bobby Jindal step up to the plate, and deliver a nonsensical, no matter response. And, why should it matter what a governor has to say…He doesn’t represent anyone other than maybe the state of Virginia and himself…It would be like having Sonny (the land baron) Perdue give the response…Who cares????

Excerpt from State Of The Union Address: ‘We face a deficit of trust.’
Deficit of trust? Natural result of 30 years of “Government IS the problem.” The Reaganist scheme of shirking responsibility for governing via a blanket assertion that all gov’t is bad without exception has been a hugely destructive ideology.

My State of the Union:
The moment that you were elected, Sir ..the moment you won the nomination, Sir…the moment you announced your candidancy, Sir …forces were working against you and still are.
Mr. President, deals were done that handicapped you before even taking office. Massive sums of money on an historical scale were lost or either taken out of the economy. ”Scorched earth” policy was in full swing waiting for you and the blame ready to lay at your feet.
The suffering and pain of people being laid off…having their homes taken away …losing everything was to be left for you. All efforts to help those people …the American public have been obstructed ..delayed …and answered with a NO from the republicant party. Bankers took the money and ran..AND WORSE …held back that money so that EVEN MORE could be blamed on you, Sir.
When Congress wanted to extend unemployment benefits to help ease the suffering …the right fillibustered for a month while almost 200,000 people went off the rolls..losing everything …
When you tried to fix health care, the special interests took hold by any means necessary. They have lied and misled…and delayed while people die…
You have tried to change it all from within …
Now you stand there …NOT ALONE ..STRONG STILL …
Make your case, Sir… call them out …Fight …
WE are behind you, Sir.
GOD bless you …GOD bless the United States of America!!!

Obama has no clue about what concerns Americans (the economy, jobs) and has no idea how to address it.
But then again, with only a background as a community organizer he shouldn’t be expected to. After all, he has never had to make an executive decision, meet a payroll, or do anything else productive in American society.
He hung around America-haters his whole life. Anyone who makes a buck is his enemy, and they’re going to pay because their gains were at the expense of the poor.
He is worse than Jimmy C.

When it comes to transparency, bipartisanship and the rest of this stuff we conservatives are supposed to look bad on if we oppose it, it looks like he has experienced a foxhole conversion now that he got his butt kicked in MA. I wish he could make this stuff happen but it’s all about him, not us. Nothing like dissing the Supreme Court when he knows they have to sit there and take it. Their ruling protected the free speech that gives him the right to do that. Hypocrite in Chief I would say. Final memo to the Prez: it’s not Bush’s fault now. That was a good speech. He really laid into the party of no and put them on the spot over and over and over. Of course, they responded in the pathetic manner that was expected. Interested only in anything that will get them more power. Of course, Obama is going to need more than an executive order to get things going. Given that the party of no has made its position clear — they’ll remain the party of no indefinitely — he’s going to have to get the Dems to push through as much as they can on their own. I say get the job done and leave the Republicans eating your dust. And embarrass as many Republicans as possible along the way. Take no prisoners.

In strong tone he explained that he would stay the course of his administration and not change his goals. The Republicans did not have to say a word last night and just won more independents in November. Our Presdient is the classic example of a narcisist. This guy was directly involved in the New Jersey, Virginia, and Boston elections and lost all three. Does he do as Clinton did after 1994 and move to the middle? No, he thinks more speaches and more town halls will convince the American people that his way is the right way. Last night he put the dems up for re-election in November on a death march and does not give a damn about their own battles in their states. On behalf of Republicans everywhere thank you Mr. President and thank you Ms. Pelosi. Mr. Reid, no need to thank you, you will be gone in November.

First of all, we not entitled to a job. Some of the main folks who lost their jobs used to tell folks to pull themselves UP by their bootstraps and not blame anyone else for their shortcoming and to stop looking for the government to take care of them. Now they have lost their jobs they are blaming the government and want them to do something. Pricelss

People, hateful people, jealous people, manipulative people, are the greatest at being malicious. Our president of the USA took on the bravest task ever, which was to become president during a time where EVERYTHING before him was screwed up by GEORGE. President Obama, you are doing a great job…I believe in you…and WE believe in you. You have made changes, you have taken leadership and you have delivered. I am confident that you will continue to deliver. Republicans are the most non-creative and manipulative human beings I’ve every come across. It’s a real shame. But guess what?? There is absolutely nothing you can do about it, President Obama is YOUR BOSS and he is putting his foot down on what he will and will not accept as it relates to getting this economy where it should be and where it should’ve been 8 years ago. Deal with it!
