‘My fellow Americans, the State of the Union is …..’

A little while from now, President Barack Obama will stand before the U.S. Congress and deliver the most importantest, hugest speech ever in American or even Kenyan history, the speech that will either elevate Obama into the ranks of the greatest to ever hold his high office or doom him to spending the rest of recorded time listed among the utter failures such as what’shisname — no not the older one, his son. You know, the name that cannot be uttered unless you want to be accused of bringing up ancient history, even though the people who say that also spend the rest of their lives mumbling “JimmycarterJimmycarterJimmycarter…”

Or maybe it’s not such an important speech after all, says Gallup:

“As Barack Obama prepares to give his first State of the Union address as president, a review of Gallup historical data suggests these speeches rarely affect a president’s public standing in a meaningful way, despite the amount of attention they receive. Among recent presidents, only Bill Clinton seemed to reap a public-opinion benefit from the yearly ritual, with an average 3 percentage-point increase across his seven State of the Union speeches.”

Oh well. I think I’ll watch anyway, just to keep an eye on that Joe Wilson fellow.

Well, we could always allow Obama to run for a third term since some here are worried about eight more years. I say, let’s allow their worst fears to come true.

BO is very good at speeches and this one was well done. He managed to say all the right things while throwing bones to the Democrats. But seriously, at the end of the day, is this really the person who is going to put our Country back on the right track? No experience in government and having mastered the use of the teleprompter are not the basic skills needed for governing in the bad times that ‘he inherited after 8 years of the prior administration’ :-)

I must say, before I retire for the evening, it is so refreshing to have a President who can complete a sentence, who is intelligent and charming, who gives one a sense of confidence in his abilities.

It was a LONG 8 years.

Goodnight all.

And he said he expected to be in charge for 8 to 10 years which kind of sounds like a future plan, but I’ll not play your nitpicking game. Maybe all the extra states are going to materialize in this 8 to 10 year window too.

Below is the complete question I made. Kindly point out to me where the word “lie” occurs…because I can’t seem to find it. Again, it’s interesting that YOU continue to label what you said as a lie.

So the gop response is spewing con ideology.

I’ll pass on buying anything from Washington but at least Obama called out the con justices for their ideology based decision for unlimited donations from foreign countries and calling it free speech.

It does not get any more unAmerican than that.

Getting just as beautiful as B.O. views himself each time he looks into the mirror. The Commander and Chief Narcissist gave a very long and flat speech that really lacked substance. We shall see how the country viewed it pretty soon.

Obama was useless as usual.

How can we possibly take someone seriously when he actually goes on national TV and claims that the government can create jobs, or have a positive impact on the economy?

I also like his subtle swipes at the Tea Party movement.

As a registered Republican I can tell you that I was thrilled to listen to the Prseident’s SOTU address. In strong tone he explained that he would stay the course of his administration and not change his goals. The Republicans did not have to say a word last night and just won more independents in November. Our Presdient is the classic example of a narcisist. This guy was directly involved in the New Jersey, Virginia, and Boston elections and lost all three. Does he do as Clinton did after 1994 and move to the middle? No, he thinks more speaches and more town halls will convince the American people that his way is the right way. Last night he put the dems up for re-election in November on a death march and does not give a damn about their own battles in their states. On behalf of Republicans everywhere thank you Mr. President and thank you Ms. Pelosi. Mr. Reid, no need to thank you, you will be gone in November.

First of all, we not entitled to a job. Some of the main folks who lost their jobs used to tell folks to pull themselves UP by their bootstraps and not blame anyone else for their shortcoming and to stop looking for the government to take care of them. Now they have lost their jobs they are blaming the government and want them to do something. Pricelss

People, hateful people, jealous people, manipulative people, are the greatest at being malicious. Our president of the USA took on the bravest task ever, which was to become president during a time where EVERYTHING before him was screwed up by GEORGE. President Obama, you are doing a great job…I believe in you…and WE believe in you. You have made changes, you have taken leadership and you have delivered. I am confident that you will continue to deliver. Republicans are the most non-creative and manipulative human beings I’ve every come across. It’s a real shame. But guess what?? There is absolutely nothing you can do about it, President Obama is YOUR BOSS and he is putting his foot down on what he will and will not accept as it relates to getting this economy where it should be and where it should’ve been 8 years ago. Deal with it!
