Ladies and gentlemen, our next governor…?

That ever-pandering, always-scheming and impossible-to-embarrass Einstein of elections, that high potentate of principled if profit-turning politicians …

Ladies and gentlemen of the fine state of Georgia, I give you … Nathan “Let’s Make A” Deal!!!!

from the conservative website “Post & e-mail”:

rep_nathan_deal

U.S. Rep. Nathan Deal, R-Ga

“Todd Smith, Chief of Staff for Representative Nathan Deal of the United States House of Representatives serving Georgia’s 9th district, has confirmed today that Deal has sent a letter to Barack Hussein Obama requesting him to prove his eligibility for the office of President of the United States of America. The letter was sent electronically the first of December 2009 in pdf format, and Mr. Smith said that Representative Deal has confirmation from Obama’s staff that it has been received. The letter did not have additional signatories. It originated solely from Representative Deal.

Now, what does this mean? This is probably the first time in 233 years of American history that a sitting member of the House of Representatives has officially challenged the legitimacy of a sitting president….one full year into his term.

This forever changes the public discourse.”

I put in two phone calls to Deal’s office this morning, seeking comment and a copy of the letter. Neither has been returned. But as those enthusiastic folks at the Post & email go on to inform us, “The ramifications (of Deal’s decision) are so serious that all laws signed by a putative president are null and void, and soldiers sent into war under his command can be tried as war criminals.”

Such are the idiots to whom Deal — a man I once thought one of the brighter lights in the GOP gubernatorial race — has now given encouragement. Such are the fools he has chosen to placate and woo with this nonsense.

I should also note that the Georgia House delegation has named Deal to lead its efforts in Congress to negotiate an end to our state’s water war with Alabama and Florida. The letter will no doubt impress those in Washington about the quality of leadership in our state and give a big boost to that effort.

Enter your comments here Jay, can you think of just 1 good reason why Obama and Co. wouldn’t just put this whole birth certificate thing to rest by making the thing available for viewing by a few notable critics? Just 1? Why not take the opportunity to embarrass the heck out of all the opposition by putting this issue to rest vs. spending capital to defend all these “silly” allegations in court all over the country?

This thing always goes back to the simple addage, “if you don’t have anything to hide, why would you?”

Well…give him the credit he is due. At least he had the nerve to actually ASK, instead of relying on gossip and inuendo. Of course, I think it will be funny if all they do is refer him to the webpage that shows Obama’s birth certificate…but maybe that’s just me.

Rep. Deal, along with his business partner Ken Cronan, owns a lucrative business, Recovery Services, Inc., that – through a no-bid contract – provides inspection stations to the state for the inspection of salvaged vehicles. The business earned $1.4 million between 2004-2008 and Rep. Deal personally took home $150,000 a year.

In 2008, Georgia Revenue Commissioner Bart Graham took over responsibility for the inspection system and found the operational costs and locations of the inspection stations to be too costly and restrictive. Comm. Graham decided the best course of action was to reform the system and award contracts through a competitive bidding process.

Rep. Deal and his staff, with assistance from Georgia Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle, arranged meetings with Comm. Graham at which Rep. Deal and his chief of staff were present, to persuade him to reconsider his decisions, including the proposed elimination of $1.7 million that has been allocated for the program. After Comm. Graham’s plan was passed by the Georgia House, Rep. Deal’s chief of staff used his House email to contact Georgia state officials in an effort to stop the plan from passing the state Senate. The money for the program was eventually kept in the budget.

Rep. Deal’s abuse of his position and taxpayer resources to maintain a personally lucrative business deal does not reflect creditably on the House.

Doggone/Ga:

Since Jay brought this subject up, I’m sorry but I have to correct you. He has not released his “birth certificate” (the document showing the attending physician and hospital of record) but has only released his “certification” of live birth …….. a totally different document. Under Hawaii law at that time, a person could have been born outside the U.S. and still receive both documents.

Now that said, Obama is still qualified to be president of the U.S. because his mother was a U.S. citizen. That is not the issue. Even if he “technically” was not a U.S. citizen no Supreme Court known to man would ever have the guts to rule otherwise ……………….

The real issue is ……… is he an American citizen born in Hawaii or an American citizen born in Kenya? Why does that matter? To some voters in the last election (right or wrong) itwould have made a difference. The American people still deserve to know as we have an election coming up in 2012.

Now ………. before you come back with the two news clipping announcements printed at the time of his birth please note that those were printed by the local newpapers as a result of their daily receipts of “certifications of live birth” from the state ……….. not notifications from parents or hospitals.

This could ALL be cleared up immediately by a release of the actual birth certificate.

P.S. Please note that one hospital claimed Obama was born there while Obama claimed the other hospital (there were only two at the time). In addition, not one person (nurse, doctor, etc.) has ever come forward stating they have knowledge of said birth in Hawaii.

How dumb is this comment, let me count the ways:

1. Birth Certificate posted on Obama’s website for the past 16 months.
2. The state of Hawaii has said that the birth Certificate posted by Obama is legitmate.
3. The republican gov. of Hawaii says that she has seen the orginal birth certificate on file in the state archives and the one that’s posted by Obama, the only one given out by the State of Hawaii, is a true representation.
4. Why doesn’t he have an ORIGINAL certificate, well probably after 40+ years and lots of traveling he could’ve lost it through the years, (I’ve lost mine and my “certificate of life birth” looks a lot like Obama’s except mine came from a different state); also this could explain it too.

This could ALL be cleared up immediately by a release of the actual birth certificate.

AGAIN, why Obama can’t produce his “real” birth certificate…..

Ta da!!! : No, you can’t obtain a “certificate of live birth” anymore.

The state Department of Health no longer issues copies of paper birth certificates as was done in the past, said spokeswoman Janice Okubo.

The department only issues “certifications” of live births, and that is the “official birth certificate” issued by the state of Hawaii, she said.

And, it’s only available in electronic form.

Okubo explained that the Health Department went paperless in 2001.

“At that time, all information for births from 1908 (on) was put into electronic files for consistent reporting,” she said.

Information about births is transferred electronically from hospitals to the department.

“The electronic record of the birth is what (the Health Department) now keeps on file in order to provide same-day certified copies at our help window for most requests,” Okubo said.

Asked for more information about the short-form versus long-form birth documents, Okubo said the Health Department “does not have a short-form or long-form certificate.”

“The birth certificate form has been modified over the years and decades to conform to national standards and models,” she said.

Okubo also emphasized the certification form “contains all the information needed by all federal government agencies for transactions requiring a birth certificate.”

DebbieDoRight:

Again ……… may I clear up something:

The State of Hawaii released the “Certification of Live Birth” with Obama’s permission and it was posted online.

Then a lot of folks started clamouring to see the actual “Birth Certificate” which would contain the additional information of hosptial of record and attending physician.

Then after some time the state official from Hawaii in charge of those records made a public statement that she had “seen” the actual Birth Certificate and “it was in order”. That’s all she said ………. “it was in order”. She could have stated the original birth certificate showed Obama was born in Hawaii. She didn’t say that.

Back then per Hawaii law, one could be born outside the U.S. and one’s parent(s) could petition for a “Birth Certificate” and it would be granted if all conditions were met. Block #23 on that certificate (Reason for Alteration or Delay) would then become very important as to the wording therein.

Therefore, you could be born outside the U.S., receive both a “Birth Certificate” and a “Certification of Live Birth” and your actual “Birth Certificate” would be as she said ……….. “in order”.

Now, if you are able to refute any of my comments above, I will stand corrected.
