Last night we were sitting around and catching up, with the lights low, the Christmas tree lit, a bourbon in hand and Miss Etta playing on the stereo, and I told myself I’d have to post this song today. A perfect mix of song, mood and artist.

So it turns out the Uppity Muslim – hasn’t found a new church in DC. ??? And he’s been there since January? Man is he blowing it! (I suspect he’s been secretly attending bomb making classes at a local mosque.)
You can just tell the type. I want my CiC to get his instructions from God, the Christian God thank you very much, like the last one did.
That way there is NO chance of mistakes or screw ups.
Oh well, the people have spoken and this birth certificateless mongrel (hat tip Wiper) is the man.
I was always amazed at the story of how the teenage Jesus saw this percussionist in concert which caused him to turn his life around from women and cavorting and the occasional woodworking to…well you know…

Meteorologists predicted the slow-moving storm would glaze highways in the East with ice through Christmas night and that gusty thunderstorms would hamper the South. An ice storm warning was issued for parts of West Virginia and the Blue Ridge mountains in North Carolina and Virginia, while a wind chill advisory cautioned of temperatures as low as 30 below zero in Montana.
The Star-Telegram said the Dallas-Fort Worth area was experiencing its first White Christmas in more than 80 years. While the area had a sprinkling of holiday snow in 2004 and 1997, the last time it experienced “a true, New England-style dose of snow on Christmas Day was Dec. 25, 1926,” the newspaper reported.

Church, in fact, has been a surprisingly tough issue for the Obamas. They resigned their membership with Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago in 2008 after Obama renounced the church’s controversial former pastor, Jeremiah Wright. And while the First Family intended to find a local church to attend when they moved to Washington, concerns about crowds and displacing regular worshippers has prevented them from finding a new religious home during their first year here.”

Still lots of work to do and most of those involved are pissed/excited about all the work they need to get done over the next 4 years. My contact is tired as all get out and says he has never worked this much in his life. Says he’s given the governor of MO just a 2 year promise to serve and he’s one year in and thinking he can’t take much more…so I reminded him that if Sen Byrd can show up to get it done so could he being just a baby of 50 something.
Umm, he’s excited about the prospect of setting up the insurance exchanges but he’s turned into a policy wonk. (a policy wonk that turned me onto Led Zepp and the Who in the mid 70’s and REM and Stevie Ray Vaughn in the early 80’s.)

“As far as I am concerned, any Republican who voted for the Medicare drug benefit has no right to criticize anything the Democrats have done in terms of adding to the national debt,” said Bruce Bartlett, an official in the administrations of Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. He made his comments in a Forbes article titled “Republican Deficit Hypocrisy.”
Bartlett said the 2003 Medicare expansion was “a pure giveaway” that cost more than this year’s Senate or House health bills will cost. More important, he said, “the drug benefit had no dedicated financing, no offsets and no revenue-raisers. One hundred percent of the cost simply added to the federal budget deficit.”
The pending health care bills in Congress, he noted, are projected to add nothing to the deficit over 10 years.

To achieve health care reform, “I’m going to have all the negotiations around a big table. We’ll have doctors and nurses and hospital administrators. Insurance companies, drug companies — they’ll get a seat at the table, they just won’t be able to buy every chair. But what we will do is, we’ll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN, so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies. And so, that approach, I think is what is going to allow people to stay involved in this process.”

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A Christmas Eve tragedy shocked an entire community as a Salvation Army Major was shot in cold blood right in front of his own children.
Maj. Philip Wise, 40, was taking two bell ringers home and then returned with his three small children to the Salvation Army.
According to reports, Wise was walking in the back door when the armed robbers approached him and demanded money.
According a spokesperson with the North Little Rock Police Department, the suspects shot him at least once as his kids, ages 4, 6 and 8, watched the shooting after Wise called 911. The suspects were attempting to rob him in the process.
Police confirm that they do have suspects. They are looking for two black men in their late teens or early 20s.

AP- DETROIT — A Northwest Airlines passenger from Nigeria, who said he was acting on al-Qaida’s instructions, set off an explosive device Friday in a failed terrorist attack on the plane as it was landing in Detroit, federal officials said.
Law enforcement officials identified the suspect as Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab. Others had slightly different spellings.
One law enforcement source said the man claimed to have been instructed by al-Qaidato detonate the plane over U.S. soil.
The suspect was able to board the plane with the explosives while airport security was examining the shoes of Evelyn Wyatt, a 76 year old Detroit great-grandmother.

Let me ask you libs. a serious question regarding the attempted bombing on the Detroit bound aircraft:
Your have two choices as you show up on the scene as the senior FBI agent in command you would never be an FBI agent but just pretend):
1) You politely advise the Nigerian Islamic suspect of his full constitutional rights, he immediately lawyers up, and you escort him to the nearest hosptial for treatment and to wait for his attorney (from CAIR) in the slim hope of getting some more information.
2) You keep him on the plane, you do not advise him of his rights because this is an ongoing emergency situation possible involving other planes in the air, you refuse to allow medical personnel to give him morphine for his servere burns, you continue to question him “forcefully” and he finally advises you he is one of a dozen plots in progress all over the U.S. to be carried out this evening. The FAA grounds all aircraft saving hundreds if not thousands of lives.

AP 1/3/10 – The lines at America’s airports were extremely long as the holiday weekend came to a close. Homeland Security imposed new security screening after last week’s attempted terrorist attack, where a passenger smuggled an explosive device onto an international flight by concealing the device in his rectum.
A Homeland Security spokesperson said that every passenger will be subjected to visual and digital (the old fashion definition) anal screening until the United States of America corrects its foreign policies so that those people aren’t mad at us anymore.

The lefties dilemma or (”it’s just a lie,,,,,,,,,ALLLL politicians do it”)—————–
Most people prefer to believe their leaders are just and fair even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a citizen acknowledges that the government under which they live is lying and corrupt, the citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. To take action in the face of a corrupt government entails risks of harm to life and loved ones. To choose to do nothing is to surrender one’s self-image of standing for principles. Most people do not have the courage to face that choice. Hence, most propaganda is not designed to fool the critical thinker but only to give moral cowards an excuse not to think at all.”
