Good. Glad to see it. Even with an acknowledgement that the photos were false, they shouldn’t have been broadcast. (from TPM).
MSNBC anchor Dylan Ratigan apologized this morning for using fake photos of Sarah Palin last Friday in a segment about the former Alaska governor, and for not acknowledging their inauthenticity.
The pictures, which were widely circulated during last year’s presidential campaign, show Palin’s head photoshopped onto other women’s bodies. In one, “Palin” is wearing an American flag bikini and holding a rifle; in the other, the faux Palin is wearing a tight black miniskirt.
“I want to apologize to Gov. Palin and all our viewers. On Friday, in a very misguided attempt to have some fun in advance of Palin’s upcoming book, Going Rogue, our staff mistakenly used some clearly photoshopped images of Ms. Palin without any acknowledgment, and on behalf of the show I would like to say that this was completely unacceptable. We should have never used those photos in the first place,” Ratigan said today. “I apologize.”

it is becoming more and more obvious why you are so bitter.
Are trying to fill in for Chad. I think you’re practicing without a license. Besides, if the monkey needs a spanking, you the man. I think. Then again, I’m not sure I even want to know what that means. It sounds like you have all sorts of weird ‘hobbies’ that are best left at home. Ick. Yuk, even.

Deb, oh yes indeed it can be true and IS true…
“Aisha said, “The Apostle of Allah married me when I was seven years old.” (The narrator Sulaiman said: “Or six years.”). “He had intercourse with me when I was 9 years old.”
Abu-Dawud 2:2116
Here we see that Muhammad had sex with Aisha when she was 9 years old. Is this age confirmed by any other (Sahih) ahadith? Yes it is:
Narrated ‘Ursa: The Prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with ‘Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death).
Sahih Bukhari 7:62:88
Also note that Sahih Muslim says Aisha still had her dolls with her when she was taken to Muhammad’s house as a bride. Applying Ibn Hajar’s doll-playing exegesis from Part 1, it becomes clear that Aisha was pre-pubescent when she became a bride.
Therefore, it is abundantly clear from the hadiths, that Aisha was pre-pubescent when Muhammad first had sex with her on her wedding day.

With this one step, Mr. Holder is giving al Qaeda a ghastly incentive: to focus more of their attacks on American civilians on American home soil.-WallStreetJournal

josef: dirty minds!! mine is due from lack of conjugal visits. I was thinking on maybe taking a trip to Germany and get ole Dudley to meet me there so that we can “rumba”. THAT’s why I was gonna dedicate “Walk The Line” to myself on Friday if I would’ve been on then. I’ve been way tempted by a lot of good looking DUMB men, (you know how I used to like them real dumb). I met this one guy at the gym who, (god’s honest truth), told me he didn’t drink homogenized milk because the government had put an ingredient in it that was turning a lot of black men into homosexuals! (I swear to GOD he said that)!! He was sooooo cute too; and had all these muscles and so dumb…….(sigh)

Nope. He was just dumb. I didn’t mention the part where he broke down the word “homo”genized — and then went into this spiel about how the milk was first tested on black men in the 20’s (homogenization, if I remember correctly, was “invented” in the 1890’s); and how once these black men started drinking the milk they started to become attracted to other men. He said he read it “in a pamphlet”.
I didn’t mind, like i said, i “used to” like really dumb men. You can tell them ANYTHING and they’d agree and SMILE like they understood what the hell you were saying. A big dumb man is like a big dumb dog — loveable and cuddly. Dudley, however, has ruined me for all time from becomig too attractied ever again to dumb men. So, even though he was tempting, (GAWD!!!

You might try a test I did a few years ago – I was out of work for 10 months & had some free time. Set up a schedule and watch news on a rotating basis each day. Keep a log and every time a real, important to the national interest story is aired, give that network a point. At the end of a month add up the points. News shows only, not the talking head entertainment shows like Bill O, Chris M, etc.
I didn’t read all the comments but I didn’t see any that addressed this, and as someone who considers himself something of an amateur media critic, I find this fascinating.

A somewhat on-topic Deep Thought:
Listening to a somewhat obscure comic’s podcast this morning, wherein Janeane Garofalo makes an appearance midway through, I realized something that is a bit troubling to me.
While I do not believe that Janeane Garofalo would make a great, or even terribly competent President of the US, I would prefer that she–a stand-up comic, who is admittedly “quite stupid” (her words)–assume that position than Sarah Palin. In fact, I would argue that Janeane Garofalo would be an infinitely better POTUS than would Sarah Palin.
Like I said, this is somewhat troubling to consider, but nevertheless, I do consider this to be true.

Because Sarah Palin is guilty of a sin
Let’s see… there’s “Lust”, “Gluttony”, “Greed”, “Sloth”, “Wrath”, “Envy”, and “Pride”.
I’d say she’s got a half dozen of those covered.

Trailer trash (or trailer park trash) is a derogatory North American English term for poor white people. The term originates from the belief that such people typically reside in trailers or mobile homes, especially in trailer parks.

This is true. I had an older sister who, for a while, called a mobile home “home.” I thought it was kind of a cool place, the one time I went to visit, actually; but then I was just a kid and there was something a bit adventurous about sleeping in a 12-foot-wide space’s spare room. So I never really got the whole business of ridiculing such residents; I always took that kind of personally. But not too much.
I mean, people will make the inevitable jokes about tornadoes seeking out trailer parks. Such jokes, they’re stupid, but they always seem to get a laugh, somewhere.
Hypersensitivity to white guys making fun of other white guys is known as “mikeism.” Also.

Who does Sarah LUST after?
Her hubby, in such a way that does not afford time to take appropriate measures to prevent unintended pregnancies. Apparently.
And many potential male voters, one assumes, but I’ve no proof of that.
(Granted, the “lust” item is the weakest of the lot. And there’s that whole problem I have of not considering lust to be an actual sin…)

They aren’t entirely jokes. Trailer parks are dangerous in tornados and they really DO seem as if they seek out such parks. I used to live in Warner Robins, which is near Centerville and in the few years I lived there a big trailer park in Centerville was hit 3 or 4 times by tornados/high winds.

Not who, what. Lust is not only for someone, it can also be for something.

That whole list of sins is an indictment against excess. Desire is not a sin, but an excess of desire is lust…and lust is a sin.

Fair point, but in the context of the deadly sins, I think that type of lust is covered elsewhere.
And if pressed I’d be willing to drop that from the ones I think Ms. Palin has covered. jt’s probably right; I’ll amend my statement to say she has five of the seven covered.

I don’t think that I suffer from “mikeism”.
I just like to point out the hypocrisy of the lefty mantra of “inclusion”. The same way lefties like to point out whenever a righty “family values” type gets busted trolling bathrooms.
No harm done.
“I always took that kind of personally. But not too much”
Same here because of my own experience and the great people I have known. Oftentimes, a trailer is a poor person’s first ” house buy”, and they are proud of said “home”.

Nor do I believe that you do.
We all, however, succumb to occasional symptoms, if (perhaps) coming from the other side of the aisle; I’m sure I’ve been guilty of hypersensitivity from time to time.

Correct.
Does she Lust after power or Driven by better motives? That is what I want to know.
IMHO, the verdit is still out concerning Obama. I believe that he is just a tool. I can not see his altruism.

You’ll have to ask her. I failed mind reading in high school. Of course, she IS a politician…so don’t hold your breath waiting for the truth.

You DO realize that “phobia” means “fear of”, don’t you? Why does a mere discussion of her possible sins indicate a FEAR of her? What’s there to be afraid of? Sins aren’t contagious.

Phobia is better used to describe the right wing’s affliction with Obama. Or, in most cases, it is a PhauxPhobia. The Phobia of Phanatics.
