MSNBC apologizes for showing fake Palin photos

Good. Glad to see it. Even with an acknowledgement that the photos were false, they shouldn’t have been broadcast. (from TPM).

MSNBC anchor Dylan Ratigan apologized this morning for using fake photos of Sarah Palin last Friday in a segment about the former Alaska governor, and for not acknowledging their inauthenticity.

The pictures, which were widely circulated during last year’s presidential campaign, show Palin’s head photoshopped onto other women’s bodies. In one, “Palin” is wearing an American flag bikini and holding a rifle; in the other, the faux Palin is wearing a tight black miniskirt.

“I want to apologize to Gov. Palin and all our viewers. On Friday, in a very misguided attempt to have some fun in advance of Palin’s upcoming book, Going Rogue, our staff mistakenly used some clearly photoshopped images of Ms. Palin without any acknowledgment, and on behalf of the show I would like to say that this was completely unacceptable. We should have never used those photos in the first place,” Ratigan said today. “I apologize.”

Well now the oversensitized American public can now breath a collective sigh of relief.

On another note…what is ratigan doing on PMSNBC? Last I saw him was on CNBC/Fast Money. Why the demotion?

Well, heck. I hate to tell Joe Bill and Jim Earl. After they seen those pictures they wanted Gov. Palin in the White House pronto or else down at the Pink Pony. They’ll probly go back to being on the fence about which Republican should get the White House in 2012 now.

I’m just disgusted. Why couldn’t this guy just keep his mouth shut? Have a good p.m. everybody.

It would do well for everybody to remember that no matter who you see on TV, or what stance they are taking, it’s very rare that you will find one that doesn’t have an axe to grind, an agenda to push, or is angling to cash in on a situation. Take it all with a grain of salt and don’t take any of them at face value.

So they decided “to have some fun in advance of Palin’s upcoming book”? Hmm, I just heard of a woman who is writing her painful memoirs of her mother’s battle with alzheimers. Wonder if they can find some pix to photoshop of her to “have some fun in advance” of her book?

Why do you need details other than he tried to commit suicide? Isn’t that detail enough? It’s like when someone dies – is it really important to know how they died other than they just did? It’s not important.

Our tax dollars pay for Richardson’s therapy, and his medications, but Richardson and his party oppose healthcare reform to the degree they are proposing to waste billions of dollars in a colossaly stupid federal court fight to challenge any federal healthcare law on Tenth Amendment supremacy and other totally goofy grounds. Georgia has already been the subject of ridicule in several constitutional law journal articles, but *that* is hardly anything new. It wasn’t enough to waste millions of dollars getting their butts slammed in a losing water argument in federal court for Purdue and the GOPsters.

The topic of this blog was Palin, and ABC is going Faux Noise by chopping up the silly and superficial Barbara Walters interviews where you can bet their won’t be any Charlie Gibson “explain the Bush doctrine” (she couldn’t and still can’t) questions.

ABC has plans to plaster the Walters’ interviews on GMA, so-called World News, Nightline, 2020 and The View. Palin isn’t a serious contender for any office. She’s one of many GOP clown shows.

Another shocking coincidence in “Dr” Chad’s life, in which every person or organization that does not share his views is dumb, evil or dumb and evil. This streak defies all laws of probability and should probably be studied at a university.

First of all, I have never made any claim to be any expert in medicine whatsoever, so your nutty demand is well, nutty. I guess you want to discuss this subject because it is one that you have the most experience with? Is there any other reason that you are bringing this up?

“One Muslim on the jury and that New York terrorist case is probably toast.”

A verdict of guilty does not usually require 100% agreement in the jury. In New York, imposing the death penalty DOES…but even if there’s not 100% agreement the defendent does not “walk” if found guilty: “New York: If the jury fails to reach unanimous agreement on the sentence, the court sentences the defendant to a minimum of 20 to 25 years to a maximum of life in prison (N. Y. Crim. Proc. § 400. 27). “
