Why did Lou Dobbs vanish from your TV screens?

In an interview weeks ago with GQ, Lou Dobbs suggested that he had been targeted by the Obama administration:

Of course I have. Sure. Without question. They are coordinating with a number of groups, including the Center for American Progress. The usual suspects. To carry out constant and absolutely insidious and sordid attacks on me. And the reason they’re doing so, I’m the leading independent voice, and I am critical on their policies and intent, on unconditional amnesty, and leaving the borders and ports unsecure. They cannot, they’re. . .

GQ: They’re afraid of that point of view? They don’t think their point of view will carry against…

LD: Apparently not. Otherwise why would you do such a thing? But I will not be intimidated, and I understand that. Therefore they’re trying to intimidate my network and my owners.

But if you want the real scoop on why Lou Dobbs is no longer on your TV screen, these folks here have it nailed.

Cute.

But Dobbs makes an interesting assertion, in light of the Obama Administration’s war on Fox News. If there is any shred of truth to what Dobbs says, it seems we have a very thin-skinned Administration that has a difficult time with dissent.

If, heaven forbid, he does migrate to Fox, maybe they could give him the 3am slot. Personally, I’d like to see Fox hire Olbermann. Offer him an outrageous salary. Make him an offer he can’t refuse. See if he does it.

His ratings might improve.

That, above all else this administration has done, makes me more suspicious and quite frankly more afraid of what this country has elected for a president. If the Obama whitehouse has to resort to using their friendly media to try to smear other critics in the media, I have to wonder; exactly what is it the administration is scared of and what are they hiding? Cynical? You bet. You better be cynical about any politician today or you are going to end up on someones dinner menu tomorrow. Obama is working on serving all of us for the Easter feast.

On the subject downstairs, I submit this: The dicitionary defines “Terrorism” as: “The systematic use of terror, violence and intimidation to achieve and end.

The problematic word is “systematic”. The 9-11 fools met all the criteria except for “systematic” but nobody had any problem calling them terrorists. Timothy McVeigh met all the criteria except for “systematic” and nobody had a problem calling him a terrorist. This Fort Hood fool also met all the criteria except for “systematic” and therefore he is also a terrorist. He was pre-meditating, he had the connections and affiliations and he had the cause. Lou Dobbs had his issue in immigration and I disagreed with him in strong and partisan terms, but I don’t think he, like so many others, was racist, just a hedgehog. That the immigration situation is broken is a given. How to go about fixing it is another matter. Before I go back to what I was doing, I’ve gotta mention this. I told ABM on the previous thread that radical muslim websites are praising Nidal Malik Hasan. I went scrounging around in search of some I had recently visited. The history on my computer is erased daily….if it weren’t, I’d be shuffling through hundreds, if not thousands of sites visited.

Anyhoo, I go over to this Islamic Awakening site where the host is using Nidal Malik Hasan’s military photograph as his avatar. It’s a difficult site to navigate. There was a call to his visitors to send money to the family of the victims at Ft. Hood. I thought…geez, this guy promotes muslim extremism….that’s odd!

It was the responses that caught my eye. It weren’t pretty. I think the host has been described as small potatoes…an American wannabe. Even so, the responses he gets, clearly indicate he’s good an inciting hatred.

He had some videos over there that were shot on the streets of NYC. Some muslims (the Christian bashers here, would call them street preachers?) anyway they’re handing out literature and calling on all muslims to stand against the infidel. His free speech doesn’t surprise me…this is America after all. What DID surprise me?

The numbers of passersby who were scarfing up his literature.

No, it’s not xenophobic or racist to be against ILLEGAL immigration. The liberal-minded American has reached new levels of nonsensical thinking. I don’t understand why there is such vitriol against Dobbs. Sure, he’s said some provocative things but it seems as though, like the right, if he doesn’t tow the line on the left, he’s hung out to dry. His views on the bank bailouts are valid and seem to be common sense. Yes, he does seem to harp on the immigration issues but if we profess ourselves to be a nation of laws, I am not sure what’s wrong with at least seeing his point of view, even if you don’t agree with it. It seems for many, if they don’t agree with it, he’s a racist. Mind you, he’s married to a Hispanic woman so that means she must also be a whitey in brown skin. I for one, happen to agree with his stance on immigration, if not some of his reasoning behind it. I say that because my parents waited 15 years, patiently to become legal citizens of this country, even though they could have taken the illegal route. The very reason they wanted to come here was because of the rule of law and the opportunities afforded. So no, I don’t want someone coming here illegally when there is a process in place to get you here legally. I have no qualms about them taking jobs etc as my argument is purely based on the rule of law. My parents worked their butts off to put me through law school and allowed me to become someone who helps to uphold those laws a federal prosecutor.

A fiasco!!?!! I saw no fiasco…what I saw were videos of previous Tea Party gatherings that were inspiring to all those who seek freedom from government oppression. The only reason I dropped in on Hannity’s show was because jay brought it up.

I will drop in when I hear Lou Holtz is gonna sit on the panel. LUV THAT GUY!

Straightforward, no-nonsense advice.

V. Monday on ABC. 8pm Eastern.

You may have missed it: Last night a brave and insightful documentary was aired that accurately portrayed the wave of ObamaMania that swept the nation. It was called “V” and aired on ABC to mostly rave reviews and tremendous ratings.

There was another documentary about the Obama campaign on HBO, but that left out a lot of relevant facts, so spaceships and lizard-people aside, ABC wins the veracity award.

The parable is, an attractive group of aliens show up, out of the blue, and offer universal health care, advanced technology and world peace in exchange for our trust and devotion. All we have to do is believe everything they say without question. Which means, don’t ask anything about their hidden motives or past associations because that would be racist impolite. In fact, one reporter who is offered an exclusive interview with their leader is admonished not to say anything negative or they would be denied access…”

Sometimes Libs can be so sensitive!

They probably don’t realize it’s a faithful remake of a 1970s series.

Lou Dobbs was the only unbought voice on CNN. If you approach issues with reason and intellect rather than politically correct narrative you are considered extreme. We are a nation full of emotionally stunted adults that don’t appreciate the work and rugged individualism that has created our nations wealth. Our policies of accomodation to all are being paid for by those who came before us and ultimately will be a burden on our grand kids. The innane comments of many on this blog are disturbing.

Western edge of NY state. Same situation. Nothing at all mean about it. No one thought twice. But plenty of tourists just loved to enlighten the residents on the error of their ways.

I’ll offer it wasn’t necessarily the message, or even the messenger. More the delivery. As I said, made my head hurt.

Sounds like some of the transplants around here. Its funny how people move to an area and then complain about it while they tell all that will listen how wonderful it was where they came from. My question was always – if it was so wonderful, why did you leave?

Wish I woulda’ known that. Then again, had the same thing happen here. Took some visitors to Dealey Plaza. Site of the JFK assassination. I was sitting on a bench outside the visitor center. Older middle aged couple came by with another couple. Were loudly talking about how much hotter it was than in Massachusetts. Then, at me, proceeded to go on about all the pickups with rifles and that ‘most people here’ carry concealed weapons and how many people Texas executes.

Seriously, those were not meant to be a diatribe against you (I’ve no idea of your television watching habits). I read your post which made me think, and since you psoted it I was sincerely asking you a question.

Why do people want a dose of opinion with their news? I just don’t understand it.

Anyway, don’t be nice, I like you feisty. It makes me think ;)

When judging someone, people need to review themselves. Lou, who is flawed, has his opinions, as do we all. You leftist/marksist people need to understand that we non-leftist people have our rights and opinions too. The left wants us to be quiet… but we are people too. We are citizens of this country and we have rights as well as opinions, and the right to speak. Your attempt to silence us will only make us angry. We are the true Americans. We believe in the founding fathers. We believe in free speech, We believe in the legal means of immigration, we believe in freedom. We also believe in the right to bear arms…so don’t tread on us. You are the progressives, you are the suicidal idiots. We will never relent, nor will we bend to your socialist idealogy. Please shut off the power for a few weeks and let’s see who is the real deal…Not you…US. Eat that, it’s the truth. You will/would starve. I can’t wait

“Feds move to seize 4 mosques, tower linked to Iran”

Gotta love this – lets not call the Ft Hood killings a terrorist attack so as to not inflame the muslims, but lets seize 4 muslim places of worship.

You think that the health care debate was a wild and crazy thing. Just wait until we start debating Illegal immigration. It will make health care look like a walk in the park. When all the rhetoric starts, we will see where the loyalty lies with all of the Latinos in this country. Are they Americans or Latinos wrapped in an American flag. Dobbs was only pointing out that allowing these people to enter our country illegally is WRONG. Our courts, our legisltors and our President are lacking in the balls catagory or they would enforce our laws. All Dobbs is saying is that our Congress and our elected officials have dropped the ball…. hell, they have lost the ball. All of you out there who ignore this problem, pretend it doesn’t exist, make excuses for these felons and play the race card are as bad as those who are breaking the law. What has happened to this country?????
