In an interview weeks ago with GQ, Lou Dobbs suggested that he had been targeted by the Obama administration:
Of course I have. Sure. Without question. They are coordinating with a number of groups, including the Center for American Progress. The usual suspects. To carry out constant and absolutely insidious and sordid attacks on me. And the reason they’re doing so, I’m the leading independent voice, and I am critical on their policies and intent, on unconditional amnesty, and leaving the borders and ports unsecure. They cannot, they’re. . .
GQ: They’re afraid of that point of view? They don’t think their point of view will carry against…
LD: Apparently not. Otherwise why would you do such a thing? But I will not be intimidated, and I understand that. Therefore they’re trying to intimidate my network and my owners.
But if you want the real scoop on why Lou Dobbs is no longer on your TV screen, these folks here have it nailed.

Cute.
But Dobbs makes an interesting assertion, in light of the Obama Administration’s war on Fox News. If there is any shred of truth to what Dobbs says, it seems we have a very thin-skinned Administration that has a difficult time with dissent.
If, heaven forbid, he does migrate to Fox, maybe they could give him the 3am slot. Personally, I’d like to see Fox hire Olbermann. Offer him an outrageous salary. Make him an offer he can’t refuse. See if he does it.
His ratings might improve.

Lou Dobbs is a righteous hero who will not be put down by the man.
Despite the evil forces of oppression, his voice rings true and loud from his head. HIS RINGING HEAD IS A BEACON OF TRUTH TO US ALL!!!
Now, please follow along as we all recite the Pledge of Allegiance……

Olbermann, Beck, Dobbs, etc. are ALL in it for the money. They are carefully crafted characters that do not represent thier true feelings any more than Johnny Depp really thinks he is a pirate.
They are media created characters intended to entertain. Why people do not understand that is beyond me.

But… but… I thought it was the person in the minority position (the dissenter, in this case) who is able to invoke “I’m offended at your conduct towards me” and it’s the majority holder, the group wielding the power (the Administration) who bears the responsibility for making sure the minority is not offended?

Am I missing something? Why would anyone want their news brought to them with any overt slant? Why wouldn’t you want unbiased reporting on what actually happened instead of some person giving their opinion of what happened?
If I want opinion, I’ll go to the opinion section, when I want news I want it un-tethered with some fluffy haired guys personal (or constructed for ratings) views.
Why do people want to be told what to think, instead of forming their opinions on their own?

Well, let me put it this way: they can invoke it, and if the majority position IS wrong they do have a responsibility to stop the offence. But if the minority is just being overly touchy…too bad.
But, bear in mind, this is ME speaking – who thinks it’s stupid to try to get people to stop using offensive words. *I* think they should be “permitted” to spout them out loud and clear…so we know EXACTLY where they stand.

And your point is Jay? I think we all know what the Obama administrations modus-operandi is for anybody that has the audacity to critisize them; “DESTROY THEM WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE”. That, above all else this administration has done, makes me more suspicious and quite frankly more afraid of what this country has elected for a president. If the Obama whitehouse has to resort to using their friendly media to try to smear other critics in the media, I have to wonder; exactly what is it the administration is scared of and what are they hiding? Cynical? You bet. You better be cynical about any politician today or you are going to end up on someones dinner menu tomorrow. Obama is working on serving all of us for the Easter feast.
On the subject downstairs, I submit this: The dicitionary defines “Terrorism” as: “The systematic use of terror, violence and intimidation to achieve and end.
The problematic word is “systematic”. The 9-11 fools met all the criteria except for “systematic” but nobody had any problem calling them terrorists. Timothy McVeigh met all the criteria except for “systematic” and nobody had a problem calling him a terrorist. This Fort Hood fool also met all the criteria except for “systematic” and therefore he is also a terrorist. He was pre-meditating, he had the connections and affiliations and he had the cause. He is a Muslim Terrorist.

Its no secret that Lou hated illegal immigration, and its quite clear from remarks on these boards that lefties prefer to call him names vs tackle the issue.
I’ll ask anyone here the same question I asked Bosch (the one he refuse to answer):
What advise do you give an immigrant, suffering under intolerable conditions, that is playing by the rules and is denied entry into the US because the illegal immigrants jumped in front of them. Why condone this type behavior in a country founded on the rule of law?

Really? So whom has the administration “DESTROY(ed) WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE?” Do you have a list? After 10 months in office, it must be a long one by now.
Of course, if you don’t want to publish the list out of fear that by doing so, you yourself would be “DESTROY(ed) WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE,” I guess I can understand that under the circumstances and all.

Lou Dobbs had his issue in immigration and I disagreed with him in strong and partisan terms, but I don’t think he, like so many others, was racist, just a hedgehog. That the immigration situation is broken is a given. How to go about fixing it is another matter. The illegals, as we call them and in reality they are, are merely a form of modern day slave labor and we ALL, all of us, benefit from it. That’s why it’s allowed to go on the way it has for as long as it has…
