Sounds like some quip you heard from an old worn out HR Manager. "Engaged" is so 5 years ago.

"How is this working for you so far?"

when they have accountability every couple of years via another election, that works out a heckuva lot better than if they didn't

[[BTW, Gore himself said Nader did not cost him the election.

But the rest of his party sure did. The one that tried every dirty trick, legal or otherwise, to keep EVERYONE else out of the running.]]

So marginalizing, demonizing and stifling dissent isn't a new characteristic among Democrats, eh?

every mothers son

It was from a newspaper blurb I read this morning. Had to do with Target, not WalMart. I went back to the article after your post. Said it was upcoming releases. My point was, citing price cut only in reference to Palin's upcoming release paints an unfair/inaccurate picture.

"The Associated Press

NEW YORK — Target Corp. has thrown itself into a heated price war on books expected to be top sellers.

Target, based in Minneapolis, said Monday that it will offer some of this season’s most anticipated titles at $8.99, in line with recent moves by Walmart.com and Amazon.com.

The price applies to pre-orders on Target.com of such books as Breathless by Dean Koontz, I, Alex Cross by James Patterson and Under the Dome by Stephen King.

The book battle started Thursday, when Wal-Mart Stores said its Web site, Walmart.com, will charge just $10, with free shipping, for such upcoming hardcover releases as Sarah Palin’s Going Rogue and John Grisham’s Ford County, 60 percent or more off the regular cost.

Amazon.com, the largest online bookseller, then matched the prices. The fight became even fiercer when the two competitors lowered the prices to $9 by Friday.

A check online Monday afternoon of several of the titles revealed that Target.com, Amazon and Walmart.com have similar prices. Walmart.com and Target.com are selling Under the Dome and Breathless at $8.99, a penny less than Amazon.com."

Bosch

Actually, I read a book at least ten years ago having to do with that very point. Gets interesting when there's scientific quantification of other than the physical senses, eh? Oh, and notice how the religion bashers avoid classifying any of this stuff as 'religious' or 'spiritual' that doesn't fit their stereotyped views of God or religion? That's why there's such difficulty in grasping what Einstein was talking about. Or how discussions of the Founding Fathers and the type of nation they were building take the sidepath to 'they weren't Christians they were deists' and miss the larger issue that they were, in fact, very religious. Just not in the stereotype way.

News reports indicate that 48 million Americans lived in poverty last year, up from the earlier reported 41 million.

The report also indicates that white males over 50 years of age lost their jobs in record numbers. The actual number of jobs lost over the past 8 years were more than 7 million.

As these numbers are reported, we should realize the economy was in far worse shape than reported.

Like their R counterparts they want NO part of a competitive democracy.

AmVet, yeah, there are few things so sad as American citizens who can tell you who got kicked off Survivor or what the loser on America Idol was wearing, or which dance Tom Delay did on Dancing with the Stars, but they can't tell you who their state senator is or what he voted for last year. Pathetic. I still encourage you to seek a local position. Why not?
