We saw these guys at Center Stage this week; they put on a great show. Frontman John Popper is a hard-working, talented man, and the weight problem that dogged him for years seems to be under control. And he does play a very mean mouth harp.

Nice.
Off topic but I see in the paper that a pirate museum is being considered for Atlanta. Well shiver me timbers. Somehow I just don’t think of pirates when I think of Atlanta, except for that crowd that meets for 40 days every winter under the gold dome.
Granted the Pirates do come to town a couple of times each summer and the Buccaneers once each fall, but they play half of their games in Pittsburg and Tampa, respectively.
Oh well I guess a pirate museum has to be somewhere, why not Atlanta with its seafaring roots.
You know where Pirates prefer to have lunch? – Arrrrrrby’s

Heard Topper & Crew on the radio today doing “Run Around” driving through torrential rain on my way to the South Georgia Coast to pick up 100 pounds of the best food the Good Lord ever put on earth, the Georgia white shrimp. I helped the shrimp boat captain unload them with the rain coming down and the Sea-Otters in the water chattering wanting scraps of fish. Blues Travelers helped me get there and life is good in South Georgia. There is going be one bad mama-jama of a country boil tonight!

Karen Handel singing the blues with the ATL Housewives soon to be on an Itunes or You Tube near you.
After wasting thens of thousands more of your tax dollars after wasting hundreds of thousands of your tax dollars, Handel has been shot down in her appeal to try to disenfranchise voters in Georgia.
Handel now plans to spend a million of your tax dollars by suing that mean ole Dept of Justice that shot down her whackjob screening process which included crossing off voters who had every written their name differently on a drivers license or other state document–perhaps with a middle name or initial.
Repubos will waste your tax money out the wazoo.

MS: Look, that woman quoted something that he didn’t say. But putting that aside, I went in, the first time I went in to guest host for Rush Limbaugh, there’s a black man on the other side of the glass telling me do this, do that, whatever. That’s Mr. Snerdley, who talks in Rush’s ear three hours a day. And as he said during the election campaign, is “certified black enough” to criticize Barack Obama. So the second, you know, the number two guy when Rush is sitting in his studio in Palm Beach is a black guy. His most popular guest host, putting aside these obscure foreigners like me that he lets on the air, his most popular guest host is Walter E. Williams, a black conservative. He has Thomas Sowell on, a black conservative. What this woman from Hunter College means, this supposedly successful journalist, is that these black guys are not on the Democratic Party plantation. If we’re going to bandy around all the plantation rhetoric, that’s what they’ve got. It means it doesn’t count if you have Walter Williams as your guest host. It doesn’t count if you have Mr. Snerdley in your ear directing the show, because they’re not Democratic Party plantation blacks.- Mark Steyn
