Turd, are you talking about the "responsibility" the good folks of Cobb and Paulding County took upon themselves when they build near streams and then lined up in 24 hours to get their "welfare" from the government (while decrying others for having their "hands in my pocket" at the Teabag Party in Washington a week earlier?)

Bosch, I know what you mean. Here in the mountains we have names like "Misty Hollow" (they drained the pond that produced the mist and leveled the hillsides so there is no hollow), Oak Trace (long time residents make be able to produce a trace of the oaks that used to live there), or similar nonsense. Sick, sick, sick. Makes me want to take out my Second Amendment and shoot up some signs!

Just a guess here, but I would imagine that some of those "rich" people bought another home and allowed a bad investment to be foreclosed upon. Why keep paying a mortgage on a home that has lost 40% of its value? Seems to me that some made a business decision and took a hit to their credit rather than losing more money.

On the NFL, Limbaugh, St Louis Rams front, are there truly threats from some of the players that they "won't play for the team if he buys it"?

Please help me to stifle my laughter!

St Louis Rams 2004: 8/8 (scored: 319 / gave up: 392)
St Louis Rams 2005: 6/10 (scored: 363 / gave up: 429)
St Louis Rams 2006: 8/8 (scored: 367 / gave up: 381)
St Louis Rams 2007: 3/13 (scored: 263 / gave up: 438)
St Louis Rams 2008: 2/14 (scored: 232 / gave up: 465)
St Louis Rams 2009: 0/5 (scored: 34 / gave up: 146)

By any semblance of honesty, these players haven't been "playing" for their current ownership.

So Finn,
Is your justification then that the homeowners should have known better but didn't. Or is your message that it is OK for homeowners to be greedy, but just plain wrong for business owners to be greedy?

And BTW about the job scenario you brought up........ I have read every professional contract I have ever signed, 4 since graduating 5 years ago. Of course I am into athletics as a career and most of our contracts have incentives in them as part of the overall salary. So did my bosses trick me or play a dirty game on me. I mean they said i would make 105,985. Funny thing I only brought home alil over half of that before taxes. But I wasn't mad, because I read my contract and saw were in the contract it stated that over 61,000 of my salary was to be paid in case incentive was met.

Maybe I came upon an idea we could start doing that with housing. You get to keep what you pay for and the bank could rent the rest of the property. So one only pays $100 on a $750 mortgage, fine. But if they have a 4 bedroom house they are only allowed to live in a bedroom and bathroom. Thats how my incentives work to a degree.

Show me one case that has not been interjected by law, that shows a ingle person that signed their contract and then were forced to forclose due to something NOT LISTED ANYWHERE IN THE CONTRACT.

If the changes were listed in the contract and it was there in english to be read, but the homeowner chose not to read it.

Either Laziness or Neglect. You choose!

Normal,

The players quit? If Rush buys the team? Oh, that's a good one! I would definitely be looking for a trade though.

Mrs Godzilla

Just a comment on TPM's word choice and how it influences perception.

" PriceWaterhouseCoopers admits that their study didn’t show much cost savings from the (Baucus) bill because its analysis didn’t include the cost savings part of the bill."

"Admits" carries a connotation of being pressed, of possibly hiding something. That was the word TPM used in the headline while the article used the word "acknowledged" and the text stated PWC stated it on the first page of the report.

They were contracted to look at four elements - which is what they did. They pointed the scope and limitations - which is really a standard part of how they report these things. So they weren't hiding anything, they didn't have to 'admit' anything. The did the job they were contracted to do.

Hef, as to Rush and the Ram's...not a good fit. There is no other NFL football team that gave more money to the Democratic Party than the Rams, and many players have already said they would not play for him if he did own the team...Ironic, huh? :-)
