FYI, the latest in ‘As the Birthers Turn’

Down in Columbus, I’d say that birther attorney Orly Taitz has guaranteed herself a $10,000 fine at the hands of U.S. District Judge Clay Land.

According to the Columbus Ledger Enquirer, Taitz’ most recent filing accuses Land of having met secretly in Columbus with Attorney General Eric Holder to conspire about ways to hide evidence of Obama’s true birthplace.  For that and other reasons, she demands that Land recuse himself from the case.

Her evidence for that rather stunning charge?

An affidavit from a fellow birther claiming to have seen someone resembling Holder in a Columbus cafe across the street from the federal courthouse.

You mean, like this?

“A former judge is facing life in prison after being charged with sexually abusing male inmates in exchange for leniency.

Respected circuit judge Herman Thomas, who was once the Democratic Party’s choice to be the first black federal judge in south Alabama, is accused of bringing inmates to his office and spanking them with a paddle.

His trial for charges of sodomy, kidnapping, sex abuse, extortion, assault and ethics violations is set to begin today.”

But, it’s racially motivated. And, a Republican nominated him. So it really isn’t a Democratic problem, eh?

The paddle thing’ll be assault. The post was just a little late in the day lightheartedness. No fair the Republicans get all the wackos.

I had a fourth grade teacher who loved to paddle. One of the guys would stuff the seat of his pants with the brown bags we took our lunches in, do something wrong, get paddled, then rub his backside and grin at her and say “oooh, that smarts!”

‘Course, those were the days, you got punished at school, you got worse at home. None of this ‘what did you do to my little angel?” nonsense. Not advocating we return to those days, but the pendulum has swung.

<a href=Why Propaganda Trumps Truth
By Paul Craig Roberts

The researchers explain why so many Americans still believe that Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11, years after it has become obvious that Iraq had nothing to do with the event. Americans developed elaborate rationalizations based on Bush administration propaganda that alleged Iraqi involvement and became deeply attached to their beliefs. Their emotional involvement became wrapped up in their personal identity and sense of morality. They looked for information that supported their beliefs and avoided information that challenged them, regardless of the facts of the matter.

In Mein Kampf, Hitler explained the believability of the Big Lie as compared to the small lie: "In the simplicity of their minds, people more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have such impudence. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and continue to think that there may be some other explanation."

PODS,

“Meanwhile, “[a]s the unemployment rate climbs, President Barack Obama is trying to make the case that his health care overhaul would create jobs by making small business startups more affordable,” The Associated Press reports. In his weekly radio and internet address on Saturday, the President “linked one of his biggest challenges — joblessness — with passage of far-reaching changes to the nation’s health care system. If aspiring entrepreneurs believe they can stay insured while switching jobs, Obama said, they will start new businesses and hire workers” (Babington, 10/4). ”

I can actually believe that. I’ve often said that one of the biggest benefits of a public option would be that businesses could drop their employee benefits and use the money to be more productive. I don’t think there should be a fine involved if they do – I think that’s the best plan to reduce costs – but what the hell do I know?

hammer-and-sickle concept

Jaggie- I thought you were in the US army, are you sure it wasn’t the Soviet army?

What is the hammer and anvil concept in conducting war?

It really deals with the total destruction or capture of an enemy force. Typically involves a large force attacking the enemy from one side and driving them back into an entrenched force you have established behind them, smashing them in between the two groups. It can also be effective when backing them up against natural formations such as mountains, rivers or swamps.

You didn’t take a cannonball off the top of your head, did ya?

Come on, we are talking millions of dollars for a 12 dollar piece of paper. Why has he just not shown it if its there? The birth certificate from Hawaii is not a birth certificate because I have seen those and its nothing like his certificate of birth. Some of us just want answers.
