I think Chicago sent the wrong ambassador to the IOC. They should have sent Frank, or at least this video, with Frank in the background singing the merits of “that toddlin’ town.”
A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I went to see “Come Fly With Me,” a dance musical at the Alliance featuring the choreography of the famed Twyla Tharp, the recorded vocals of Frank and the accompaniment of a live “big band” that really kicked it.
I’m not generally a big dance aficionado, but I do love Sinatra’s work, at least the stuff that they didn’t try to drown in treacly strings. The band at the Alliance was powered by a great horn section, the dancers were generally phenomenal, and all in all the concept works surprisingly well. It plays the Alliance until Oct. 11, with hopes that it will eventually make it to Broadway.
Given the highly laudatory reviews of the show, I’d bet it makes it.

So when the National Enquirer reported that John Edwards was running around on Elizabeth they were a shady super market tabloid, but now that they rumor a divorce it’s news?
geez….
But let’s hope they’re right about this too and she gets a great lawyer to clean John out. As an added touch it would be nice if her lawyer could channel a few voices to get a few extra mill tacked on.

And for all of the Republican assertions that there is some sort of anger about government spending under Obama, polls indicate that the majority of Americans blame Republicans for the situation. They are viewed as talking conservative, but big spenders. All polls show that the public still trusts Democrats a lot more than Republicans when it comes to the economy. They were burned by trusting Bush and the Republican Congress and this has translated into a rather large lack of trust of Republicans
Polls for 2010 still show a lead for Democrats over Republicans when asked who the voters want to control Congress.
My favorite polls are about that Conservative heartthrob, Glenn Beck Only 13 percent of Americans have a very positive opinion about him 11 percent somewhat positive. His largest numbers. Those who don’t know who he is 42 percent

Even more important, most Conservative talking heads like Rush Limbaugh, Pat Buchanan etc have much larger unfavorability ratings than favorability. Limbaugh has a total 23 percent favorability with only 8 percent of that very positive and 15 percent somewhat positive. His totals for unfavorability are 50 percent unfavorable with 37 percent of those stating VERY unfavorable with only 13 percent somewhat unfavorable.
Even more recent polls taken after the CBS polls show even larger supports for public option health insurance with most of the negativity about the legislation in Congress being over the lack of public option and the failure of the Senate to do what the public wants by giving a public option.
The percentage of Americans who will oppose health reform if there is no public option is now greater than those who oppose it if there is one:
“What if changes to the health care system do not include the option of a government-administered health insurance plan? In that case, would you favor or oppose the changes under consideration?”
Favor 38%
Oppose 40%
Unsure 22%
http://www.pollingreport.com/health.htm
Latest polls also shows that the public trusts Obama much more than Republicans on health reform. by almost 200 percent.
52 percent of Americans trust Obama to get health reform right.
27 percent trust Republicans.
