Bruno: Several posters here have either implied or directly stated that a majority of Republicans are racists, despite the fact that support for Rice, Thomas and Sowell remains high. Every time in the past I’ve brought this up, I was informed that supporting these folks didn’t “count” for some reason, since they didn’t hold traditional liberal views. Peadawg, in my post @ 8.34 I’m not speaking of any future efforts that may or may not succeed to maybe give some undocumented workers an easier pathway to citizenship. I’m talking about the actual healthcare reform bills being discussed, about which Joe Wilson decided he’d call “liar.”

Obama wasn’t “technically” telling the truth, he was telling the truth. Righties don’t get to smear him because of what they imagine he and Congress might manage to accomplish at some point down the road.

Good point…Perhaps is giving away $$$ to welfare frauds, baby-mama’s, dead-beat dads, innercity deadheads, bums/homeless, foodstamp frauds, unemployed illegals receiving benefits, parents of anchor babys, etc and they would do their part then all this unnecesary taxing of The People could be curtailed.

While I get the distinction, PD, I think it’s somewhat laughable that you characterize this effort to reform healthcare delivery as something Obama is going to do.

I’m going to remind you (I won’t bother with most of the others because they’re thick) that this nation elected Obama to get this stuff done. They want this stuff done. It’s being legislated through their elected representatives. It’s not one guy’s vision; it’s a consensus.

A lot of noisy people aren’t happy about this, of course–just as they weren’t happy about Medicare or Social Security. Well, they can try to get a majority of representatives and a new President elected to change it if they really care so much.
