TnGelding,

I presume you know more than is known by our President, the CIA, British Intel, our Generals and their advisors about Afghanistan. You seem to know the motives of the Taliban which is opposite to any info I have read about them. They would hardly fight al Queda as both are Muslim estremists.

Osama is thought to be in the mountains of Pakistan and the Pakis are fighting against the Taliban uprising there. Americans try not to invade territory belonging to Pakistan.

But my point is, wherever our troops are fighting, it has to be for us. They should be supported. Our country is the land of freedom and they fight for us because we sent them. You may have good intentions but lack of support for our military is a sure way to losing morale and bringing defeat.. Why should our military fight if we cannot even support them at home?

No, we are not run by a Nazi regime and therefore support that kind of government. We still are a democratic republic and treasure freedom. Wherever our troops fight they represent us. If you do not support them, whom do you support? Our enemies think you are supporting them.

I have a pretty good handle on what's going on in Iraq and Afghanistan but I cannot for the life of me figure why someone would call a fire truck to a underground water leak so it could drive into the sinkhole. Those pictures are a total embarrasment.

Shoot, you're still with us!

Why don't you just run out and buy some U.S. tresuries so China won't have to? At least an equal amount to your tax-free munies. The spending is necessary to ease the recession because people like you and my millionaire sister and her husband aren't doing it.

True they're fighting and dying but is it really for us? Aren't their actions making us less safe, especially in the long term? Rummy even asked that question. I'd be interested in reading the replies he got, if any.

I didn't, but most "extremists" supported the invasion and ouster of the Taliban in Afghanistan. I thought then, and still do, that more pressure should hve been put on them to help capture or kill bin Laden and evict al Qaeda. But they were only give 26 days.

We seniors have seen enough war to question its necessity, especially a preemptive strike against an imaginary foe like in Iraq. Saddam was absolutely no threat to the USA.

A Chinese official attending a weekend economic conference in Italy said that if the Federal Reserve "printing money to buy bonds it will lead to inflation, and after a year or two the dollar will fall hard." This was seen as a signal that Beijing, a major holder of U.S. debt, has tired of endless federal deficits and may be more reluctant to purchase Treasury bonds going forward.

Yeah, let's spend some more.

It's an early day in the forest but I felt the need to share a new take on term limits I just heard.

All politicians should be limited to two terms. One in office and one in prison.

Later!

No, I think it'll get better with the renewed focus, but unfortunately with much loss of life and treasure.

We're falling behind because of our deviant behavior and lack of education.

"I'm wondering how they really compare. Here are the facts I've managed to find so far:"

Dusty touched on a good idea, why don't you write a book? If you haven't already.
