“The memo, which came to light Thursday, makes at least two egregious, offensive and dangerous assumptions:

First, it treats the mayor’s office as a black possession, a trophy of sorts that could be surrendered to white Atlantans for the first time in 35 years. That is a cartoonish, archaic approach to politics that, among other things, ignores the humanity of individual mayoral candidates, with all their strengths and weaknesses, and tries to reduce them to mere representatives of their respective races.

That mindset has had its day, and that day is, or ought to be, over. But as the memo reminds us, it isn’t quite. There are those in the black and white communities who still see opportunity, profit and power in extending that day beyond its normal lifespan, and the Turpeau memo lays out one way it might be done.”

So a raicst memo about the Mayor’s race in Atlanta is published. Two clear points:
1. Vote against this woman solely because she is white.
2. Black people should all have the same agenda because they are black.

Bookman can’t bring himself to say this is racist and wrong. He can’t upset the apple cart of politics in GA because if he does he might jeopardize the utter reliability of the black vote for all causes democratic. He would, and has, sold his soul to protect his political coalition.

Yet…at least in public…our candidates for Mayor have been willing to say the truth and distance themselves from this kind of ugliness saying that its race baiting and bigoted. Bookman’s moral courage failed.
He could snip a little but without fire or conviction. At all costs, Jay is avoiding speaking the truth plainly. It is this event which will define Bookman.

What is the “black agenda?” Is this a code phrase that has meaning among black people? Do the authors think there is also a “white agenda” that they must work to defeat by enacting a black agenda?

SO I guess they will have no problem with a “white agenda”.
Are would that be racist? Lets see, two lack racist professors, from an all black racist “college”, spouting a racist agenda for blacks to remain in control by voting based on race. Why would ANY white person EVER vote for a black for office. Never again my friend, Never again.

If our dear Hosea Williams were still with the living, he’d likely take a couple of those free turkeys they give away is name and them at Boone & Jennings for the drivel they’ve lobbed at our city.

These boobs just prove that an air of entitlement has been foisted into the mix of the real and important racial issues to discuss and address in Atlanta and the U.S.
