The one where F’RNC jumps the shark

Below is a fundraising “survey” on health care apparently mailed out by the Republican National Committee. Take a look at Question 4.

That inspires a question of my own:

Does the RNC really believe the American people are that stupid? Did they sit around at RNC headquarters, a little giddy at their success in selling the death-panel nonsense, and decide that there really were no limits on what they could peddle to those willing to believe?

Fortunately, we don’t have to answer those questions through mere conjecture. Below, we have newly released video of that very moment:

You betcha goshdarnit–RNC really believes people are that stupid. Just look at their parade of bozos for 2012. They believe that they’re stupid so everyone else must be too.

And in that vein, it’s typical to see these bozos wait until Kennedy is dead to claim that Kennedy would want Dems to cave to them and pass a completely worthless health care bill without insurance company competition. They would have never used this rhetoric while he was alive, because he would have slammed them for passing anything less than the HELP bill his committee is proposing in the Senate.

Insurance and pharmaceutical company employee Max Baucus stupidly said today that Kennedy who was always a single-payer guy since he came to the Senate would have compromised for their worthless coops. Kennedy compromised by putting the public option in his committee’s bill instead of single payer and he wouldn’t spit on coops.

Kennedy’s bill never sold out to the insurance companies, but the Senate Finance Six are trying to.

Yep. Jay is right. The Republicans have jumped the shark, Democrats are gaining in popularity and health care reform is going just the way the left wants it to.

Jay’s endlessly partisan prattle is an excellent illustration of why Democrats are apparently impotent despite controlling Congress and the White House. Instead of addressing the very legitimate concerns of voter regarding their policies (stimulus, health care, cap and trade, etc), they just keep bleating that Republicans are bad. You would think that by this point, folks like Jay would recognize that this strategy is failing miserably. Unfortunately, folks like Jay think that Americans really think that either party is really any better than the other and that incessant partisan carping are persuasive arguments for their preferred policies.

Step back for a second, listen to what the non-screaming skeptics are saying, and it’s clear the party severely overestimated its mandate and underestimated the public’s growing unease with the government’s massive growth over the last year. CHRIS SAYS: Pat, nice try for trying to cover up for the idiots running the GOP. I’ll give you a 10 for effort but a zero for execution.

Any other GOP missteps you want to cover up for since you are in this mode???

Jay August 27th, 2009 5:40 pm SAID:No, Pat, what I posted was the real version.

In fact, the F’RNC has now come out to explain that it was “inartfully worded” but that “Americans have reason to be concerned about the failure of the Democrats’ health care experiment to adequately protect the privacy of Americans’ personal information.” (http://theplumline.whorunsgov.com/republican-national-committee/whoops-rnc-admits-suggestion-that-health-care-reform-could-discriminate-against-gopers-was-inartful/)

I should also note that the story was broken by my previous employer, The Columbian, a small-to-midsize daily in Vancouver Wash.

CHRIS SAYS: ROFLMAO. If Pat’s got some smarts, she’ll drop this while she can. But then, like many of her ilk, she might just continue digging.

The speed at which the democrats go about destroying their own party is both delightful and an astounding thing to behold-

GALLUP: OBAMA HITS ANOTHER NEW LOW…

And what is their reaction to such wondrous news? Call everybody stupid, of course.

Somewhere, Dhimmi Karter sighs with relief….

Jay, why don’t you do a piece about the Democratic Operative’s attack on the Democratic headquarters in Colorado in an attempt to make the anti-healthcare people look bad? Why don’t you Jay? What about the swastika here in Georgia? Haven’t heard much about that one lately either.

Shamvet, I must say your vitriol is really becoming to anyone of any political affiliation. Your obsession with everything Bush is the definition of neurotic. Who did you so bad, hmmm? You seem to be able to spend quite a bit of time on the internet. Why don’t you spend more time trying to make the world better rather than wasting the valuable time you have here on earth spewing bile in the faceless world of the net?

As far as self discipline, I think I have quite a bit of that evidenced by the fact that I don’t spend hour upon hour criticizing and hating upon everyone that disagrees with me. I can accept critisim. Can you Shamvet? Neurotic indeed.

Oh my gooodness,
Jay and his liberal band of Robin Hoods are surprised that Republicans put out a SUSPICIOUS questionaire. I mean what does the RNC think they are? The Democratic Propaganda Machine? They thought they could fool people like the Democrats do? Now what kind of foolishness is that?

Right away, Democrats howled because it looked just like one of their projects.. Jay Bookman pricked up his ears and did his duty. Immediately he asked: “Does the RNC really believe the American people are that stupid?”

It surely did get the Democrats jumping. And probably gave Repubs a big laugh. They smiled and checked off all the obvious answers. A questionaire about what is already known as a totally messed up healthcare bill? Yeah sure. Vital new info found! Americans despise the so called Healthcare bill and Repubs can rattle Dems.. It worked!

As Pres. Reagan said:”It isn’t that liberals are ignorant. It’s just that they know so much that isn’t so” and Bookman is going to show it all to you in his AJC. blog.

Bravo!.

Chris, even the other supposed “real” survey is laughable.

I can just picture some angry little man in Moultrie, reading those questions and getting more infuriated by the moment.

And this is the supreme failure of the GOP. And I believe explains their current dreadful position.

They have no other real options but to continue to go after a dwindling, dying off “base” like a drunk to the bottle.

To wit, where are there new constituents and “leaders”? Certainly by now, there must be LOTS of them? From coast to coast, right?

Sarah Palin? Mark Sanford?

They must be suicidal…
