Here’s proof the Mayans got it wrong with their calendar

The world is ending well before December, 2012. It now officially ends on Oct. 13, 2009, the date when Bob Dylan releases his album of Christmas classics.

According to the New York Times, “among the traditional songs that Mr. Dylan will perform on the album, which Columbia Records is to release on Oct. 13, are “Here Comes Santa Claus,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Little Drummer Boy” and “Must Be Santa.”

With KSM, the CIA clearly believes that they never would have gotten his intel in time without the specific use of the waterboard. That vindicates what Cheney has said all along — that the waterboard and the other EITs prevented terrorist attacks in the US and did significant damage to AQ. In effect, Cheney and apparently the CIA called Obama’s bluff, with the agency finally getting the other side of the argument on EITs in the open. EITs and specifically the waterboard saved American lives without costing the terrorists being interrogated any lasting physical damage.

Got real quiet, didn’t it? I trust there’ll be a separate thread on this once the major interest groups have figured out how to spin it. Even though it’s a lousy strategy I’ll bet some will try to argue ‘well, we don’t know specifically which techniques yielded which information.’ Weak. I’m kinda leaning towards talking points of the ‘is this what we want to be?’ type. Maybe it’ll come up in a few hours when some of the others check in.

I went to see him recently at Verizon. It was a nightmare. First, Dylan has been creatively dead for four decades. Next, he cannot sing worth a darn. Third, my 24 year old date thought he was a decrepit old man. Fourth and finally, the passes that come with my box at Verizon allow complete access of the facility. This little, pencil necked, creep requires that no one make eye contact with him. So while I was taking my gal to a quiet, out of the way corner a little fantasy time with Ol’ Wyld Byll, some young kid page runs up and tells me “…to divert my eyes from Mr. Dylan while he passes.” Can you believe that. I told the kid that I was more likely to take a leak on Mr. Dylan than to divert my eyes. When Dylan went by, I look at him and it was as if he were the wicked witch of the west melting away in the Wizard of Oz. What a loser. Quite frankly, he is no more musically talented today than an ape that has figured out how to flush a toilet.

Paul the documents blanked out what type of interrogation technique was used. But it was concluded by many that more information was gained that turned out to be true after the “torture” began. Such as finding other operatives and foiling other plots against the US, and England.

And contrary to what we were told here, the CIA operatives and the documents released showed that much of the information obtained before “torture” was used mostly turned out to be either useless or false.

Any wonder why we got pieces on chicken sandwiches and Bob Dylan the day after the documents were released. :)

From what I have read though the docs do not in any way say torture works, but it also does show that valuable information that DID save American lives was gained from the “torture”.

Since so much is blacked out though it is hard for one to make a complete judgment. But I do think he argument of nothing valuable ever comes from torture could be put to rest by this, and that all they would do was lie when put through “torture”

the day he fits into yours or anybody else’s mold will be the day I stop listening to Dylan.

“Slow Train Coming”

I ain’t gonna go to hell for anybody
Ain’t gonna go to hell for anybody
Ain’t gonna go to hell for anybody
Not today, not tonight, not tomorrow, no never, no way!

I can deceive people as well as anybody
I know all the angles, know how to make the jangles
I can twist the truth as well as anybody
Find ’em an’ blind ’em, wine ’em an’ dine ’em
But it don’t suit my purpose, it ain’t my goal
To gain the whole world and give up my soul

So tell me…have you misled anybody when it comes to the truth or lack thereof today?

Everyone throws in a dollar, closest without going over takes it all, tie means in the Christmas Party fund.

We have a trusted scanner assigned to each one (abc, nbc, cbs) who will compile the stats for a winner to be declared tomorrow.

My number of dead Kennedy stories is 27.

I hope I win, but I’ll be watching the only accurate news available, Fox. Lets face it, the chicks on Fox outclass the other 3 by light years (as evidence I submit Megan Kelly vs. Candy Crowley – lovely versus lumpy), and are neck and neck with the women of the Weather Channel.

As I wrote earlier, I’m waiting for the discussion to shift from “did EITs work” to “regardless of outcomes, do we want to be a nation that uses EITs.”
