The Man in Black graces us with some travelin’ home music

I don’t think I’ve posted the great Johnny Cash here, which is an oversight I’m glad to correct. He was a walking, talking heap of Americana, a unique talent who expressed great complexity in simple songs. And as video like this reminds us, while little Joaquin Phoenix did a credible impersonation in “Walk the Line,” he couldn’t project the raw-boned, country-boy physicality that made Cash such a presence.

And the singing? Please. Again, it sounded OK until you hear the real thing and are reminded once again of the Cash genius.

Having an actor, regardless of their singing chops, try to fill in for the Man in Black is bound to come up short. It was Hollywood self indulgence to try and sort of …ummm ..uh disrespectful. It should have gone the Sweet Dream route

And for the sanctimonious conservatives, listen to these lyrics. I think this photo would be Johnny’s reaction to your political bend.

Cindy Sheehan To Lead Protest Against Obama Continuing Bush Wars

Infowars

For immediate release:

Next week, Cindy Sheehan will join other like-minded peace activists to have a presence near the expensive resort on Martha’s Vineyard where President Obama will be vacationing the week of August 23-30.

featured stories Cindy Sheehan To Lead Protest Against Obama Continuing Bush Wars

From her home in California, Ms. Sheehan released this statement:

“There are several things that we wish to accomplish with this protest on Martha’s Vineyard.

“First of all, no good social or economic change will come about with the continuation or escalation of the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. We simply can’t afford to continue this tragically expensive foreign policy.

“Secondly, we as a movement need to continue calling for an immediate end to the occupations even when there is a Democrat in the Oval Office. There is still no Noble Cause no matter how we examine the policies.

“Thirdly, the body bags aren’t taking a vacation and as the US led violence surges in Afghanistan and Pakistan, so are the needless deaths on every side.

“And, finally, if the right-wing can force the government to drop any kind of public option or government supported health care, then we need to exert the same kind of pressure to force a speedy end to the occupations.”

Cindy Sheehan will arrive on the Vineyard on Tuesday, August 25th.

All of these Katy clones calling viable health reform dead, are conrused either as to what’s “dead” or the definition of death. And trust me, there was plenty of outrage…but the “liberal” media chose not to cover it. They were too busy bowing down before the Bush regime. *I* for instance, was LIVID that the Congress passed that “Authorization of use of force in Iraq”
