‘We will forcefully resist people imposing their will on us through … the vote.’

Here’s a video — a quickly and rather slickly produced video — starring that gentleman who found it necessary to walk around the rally in Phoenix armed with an AR-15. I don’t know the significance of “4409″ but I imagine we will in short order.

Money quote:

“The British weren’t stealing money from us for health care. They weren’t taxing us the way they are now back then. And what did we do? We forcefully kicked them out of our country. And we will forcefully resist people imposing their will on us through the strength of the majority through the vote. Just because you sic the government on people doesn’t make it morally OK to steal money from people. Taxation is theft. All taxation.”

No argument for arming myself has been more convincing than the escalation of gun and ammo purchases and crazy mouth-frothing public stunts by angry white kooks and American Talibaptist extremists blathering and spewing about what a danger peace- and health-loving Democrats are to the sanctity of American freedom since November 5th of last year.

Jay, I read, with interest, last night’s exchange with @@, and have a question and a comment.

First, when she posted the personal data was it headed to me in response to one of enticements?

Next, when you write, “After all, a woman who can turn down Wyld Byll must apparently have extraordinary willpower” it under lines the core differences between the liberal and conservative philosophies. Where you see a “turn down” I feel anticipation building to a fevered pitch for that moment of sweet surrender that I hold so dear in my dreams. And, Like Delta used to be, Ol’ Wyld Byll’s ready when @@ is.

@@, my little sugar plum, you needn’t pass the information through Jay when you can send it directly to wyldbyllhyltnyr@gmail.com. Until then.

That welfare money spends just as well as the military-industrial complex waste does. How many grocery stores would close if not for food stamps? How many farmers would lose their farms? How many children would go to bed hungry?

economically speaking, it actually spends better as people at the bottom of end of the spectrum have a higher marginal propensity to spend than those at the upper end of the spectrum.

I’ve asked this question before – is the current health system ok? Are any of the conservative concerned about the increasing costs of healthcare? If so, then what would you recommend to keep costs in check? What plan would you propose that would help everyone and keep a high level of quality care?

ohfercryingoutloud. marginal propensity to spend refers to the likelihood of spending vs. saving (or investing) of $1 additional dollar from a base amount. $1. so get off your high self-righteous horse.

if you were making $150/week and your pay increases to $151/week, it’s not like you’re likely to say “woowoo!!! now I can start that retirement fund I’ve always wanted!!!” … more likely than not, you’re thinking that it’s going to mean gas in your car, food in your belly or paying a bill.

As long as we, the working class, are expected to pay for the bums and indigent and illegals I anticipate no reduction in HCare costs and expect them to increase. Overall Im satisfied with my coverage, costs and am willing to endure the ever increasing costs.

My reasoning is based on prefering HCare over OboboCare and the sure to come incompetence that will be thru-out the latter.

Its simply a case of who prepares and who doesnt. A friend of mine worked for AllState Ins 22 years and made close to $50K annually at his time of layoff. Over his 22 years he contributed a whopping 1% to his 401K.

His money was spent on trips to Mexico, FL, VA etc. He did have about a pitiful $12K in his 401K but chose to us that as downpayment on a 2007 Mustang which he didnt like so 30 days later he traded it for a 2007 Mustang GT which he didnt like so 30 days later he traded it for a Dodge Ram pickup. He has about 36 of the 72 easy monthly payments of $469 monthly to make and it out of a job with ZERO prospects.

Do I feel for him…sure…did he make his bed…sure.

Turd – one question – WILL you be able to afford the ‘ever increasing costs of healthcare? I think that is the argument or at least what the ‘discussion’ should be about. Turd, one more comment. I too believe in personal responsibilty but what about the situations where the events are totally out of your control? Medical bankrupcy is one of those situations. How can you ask for someone who has insurance to save for that rainy day when they need tens of thousands of dollars for cancer treatment or some other medical operation? What do you tell that person or their family? I know it is easy to say personal responsibilty but it is something totally different when you’ve done the right thing but still get screwed by the system.

No one with any sense wants a government run health care program. Who wants another money pit? Can anyone pick a well run government agency? I know the words “well run” are subjective, but be reasonable. The government has all of these GREAT IDEAS! What they don’t have, is any idea how to actually implement the programs and run them efficiently. That’s why we need private enterprise.

“PERSONAL RESPONSBILITY”

and I’m all for that. but, my point referred to TnG’s post and compared those making the minimum (roughly $10k/yr takehome) vs. the execs at Lockheed/Rockwell/Boeing, etc. Someone who makes $10K/yr has a higher MPS than someone who makes $110k/yr. and, frankly, for that person, paying his/her bills IS behaving responsibly.

and md – you still missed the point.

“If so, then what would you recommend to keep costs in check?”"

Hmm… I guess I would recommend significant tort reform to reduce and eliminate frivolous lawsuits which drive up the costs of insurance, products, etc. Only problem, the majority of elected officials come from the ranks of lawyers such as John Edwards, Ken Nugent, etc.

Hmm… Next, I would ensure that all recipients of public medical care are US citizens.

Hmm… Then, I would take steps to reduce or eliminate health care for those who continue to bring children into this world without sufficient means to support them. If they want medical care, they must submit themselves for voluntary sterilization.
