TnGelding .... There is, it's called a legal permanent resident (LPR) or “green card”- defined by immigration law as a person who has been granted lawful permanent residence in the United States.

Hey Finn...... The thing is with competition comes options, if your company does not cover something you can change it. If it is employer based and it is important enough to you you can change employers.

You are pathetic. I provided concrete data with links to the source. I am sorry that you are incapable of understanding basic logic, but any intelligent person could understand the argument, even if you can’t.

Is that so. Let us start by examining your assertions:

1) You said that the 11 point swing in the opinion of Independents towards global warming was due to Republicans leaving the GOP and labeling themselves Independent.

No, mike, I did not say that. You did. After your 8:34pm post, I egged you on with my 8:58pm post. Of course, you could not resist so you replied at 9:01 and 9:03 with what appears to be completely unrelated rants. Then, I replied at 9:16 with a little more egging to complement your posts. You replied at 9:39 with the statement that I claimed, "the 11 point swing in the opinion of Independent voters is due to people dropping their GOP affiliation to take that “new label.”" Clearly those are your words for I never said any such thing. Feel free to go back to my 9:16 post and tell me all about how I implied that though. While you are at it, refer to the end of my 9:16 post and go ahead and tell me all about what you really know about me. Then, you proceed to bring in a separate poll on party affiliation in your second 9:39 post and try to use those results to disprove a completely new claim that you introduce: "So the GOP lost only 1 point last year, so it is not possible that the 10% swing in climate change opinion can be attributed to GOP folks switching to Independent." You have now managed to change the original poll that asked, in 2008 and 2009, whether people polled think that the media has exaggerated global warming, to a new fabrication on the change in people's opinion on climate change. On a side note here, mike, I notice that you did not produce data, from the opinion polls that asked about the media's exaggeration of global warming, for a question or questions regarding the person's current and past party affiliation. That sort of data could actually be used to address a hypothesis that the increase, between 2008 and 2009, in Independents that believe that the media exaggerated, was or was not due to a shift of people claiming to be Republicans to claiming to be Independents.

2) I provided data from the same folks who did the poll that showed that the GOP only lost 1% of its base over the same time period.

You did not provide data, for your hypotheses, on party affiliation change from the same poll that asked about the media's exaggeration. Would you like to have a little discussion on statistics and "margin of error" and "confidence intervals" and the errors introduced by attempting to combine the results from different polls, etc.

3) Point two invalidates point one. It’s really simple.

If your point two, whatever it was, really did invalidate your point one, then you would only be proving yourself wrong. Congratulations.

You are just incapable of understanding simple math. and/or you are just not man enough to admit that you are wrong. This is standard behavior from you so nobody will be surprised.

What "simple math" would that be, mike. Please elaborate first and then I will be glad to discuss our respective understandings of this "simple math", at you convenience, of course. As always, if you prove me wrong, I'll be "man enough" to admit it and I won't even be "humiliated". I promise. Finally, I am just so relieved that "nobody is surprised" by my "standard behavior". Anything else, mike?

Finn McCool - you asked

August 11th, 2009
8:02 am
jt, how do you equate Pharma advertising for the new health care plan with obama taking money from Pharma for campaigning?

Finnius McCool- The following quote is the conclusion of your link and it is an answer to your question. To help you understand, substitute PHARMA with BIG OIL or HALIBURTEN.
The whitehouse and PHARMA are making a "price control" DEAL concerning your HEALTH. The American public was not a part of it.

"PhRMA is on record saying it would oppose health care legislation that contained "price controls." The White House, meanwhile, said on Monday that it was committed not to include one measure that could achieve those controls: rebates which would have bridged the prescription drug prices between Medicaid and Medicare.

The questions that still need to be answered are: Will PhRMA renege on its $80 billion pledge if Congress passes health care reform that allows the government to negotiate for lower drug prices? And will it abandon its pledge to run $150 million worth of television ads in favor of the president's agenda if it believes price controls are still on the table?"

Sorry, Sarah Palin -- rationing of care? Private companies are already doing it, with sometimes fatal results

Mike, who needs illegal immigrants here to keep wages down? The owners of businesses and corporations. Who pays the lion's share of campaign contributions? The owners of businesses and corporations.

Illegal immigrants depress wages across the board for all workers. Anyone who is middle class or lower should want to get those people out of this country ASAP so wages can rise.

The owners of businesses and corporations stopped immigration reform dead by placing calls to senators and congressmen and giving them some words of advice.

No, some other illegal act. If they are hardworking, law abiding people that have succcessfully asssimilated into the communities then there should be provisions made to allow them to stay if they have been here for a certain length of time; 2 years, 5 years, etc.

Eunice Kennedy picked her cause because politics was denied to her at that time. Would she have exceeded their accomplishments in politics if the glass ceiling not been so low in those days? I think so.
