Ladies and gentleman, Justice Sonia Sotomayor!
With a Senate vote this afternoon, Sonia Sotomayor will be confirmed as a Supreme Court justice, bringing some Latina wisdom to our nation’s highest court. I’m guessing at a vote tally of, say, 66-30, much to the chagrin of ultra conservatives who tried to portray her as a Puerto Rican version of a KKK grand dragon.
And in an unrelated note, did Ron Paul really name his son Rand? No surprise, I guess, but kind of funny in its own way.

Just another example of how liberalism has “dumbed down” every part of American life, including, now, our highest court. In a true meritocracy Sotomayor couldn’t even hold down the job of solicitor in traffic court in a mid-sized town. Wonder how reading children books will help applying the law.

I don’t look for any sweeping opinions from Sotomayor at all. I think she will stick close the case at hand and rule narrowly in that case.

What will these Republicans do! I just don’t see them tossing Sotomayor out of the country as an illegal alien… unless… have we seen her long-form birth certificate yet.
