This birther nonsense becoming a big problem for the GOP

Here’s Mike Castle, a Republican congressman from Delaware, trying to deal with the birther nonsense at a town hall meeting back on June 30. It really gets a little spooky when the woman hijacks the meeting with an impromptu demand for the Pledge of Allegiance. It’s hard to imagine a more vivid example of how easily false patriotism can trump reason and common sense.

Apparently, CNN’s Lou Dobbs — always on the lookout these days for a fringe issue to ride — is also jumping on the bandwagon.

Glad you enjoyed Stewart’s comedy as well. Given the subject, he surely had a lot to work with!

Ken: You assumed I was talking about you. Remember what happens when you assume? I used your comment, I did not mention you or your beliefs.

President Obama has released a birth certificate and his mother and grandmother were both American citizens and Mr. Obama was born in Hawaii, which is a state in the Union. Obama is an American citizen. All the birther folks are just right-wing nutjobs who are having a problem dealing with the fact that a non-white person was elected to the Presidency by a respectable margin of voters. It is always some issue with these folks; they can’t be satisfied, so why bother trying?

I thought that John Stewarts take on this was the funniest. I am just absolutely flabbergasted by people like Ken Berwitz. They actually CANNOT see how stupid they look. It’s facinating to me.

Good Luck

Bob – You put up my verbatim comment – in quotation marks – and then tell me the reference is not to me and I’m making an assumption. Too funny.

Ken: You are all about facts. Please point out where I said you were a conservative.

Yes, I was using your quote to make a sarcastic point. You assumed I meant I was talking about you. That’s your problem, not mine. If you are a conservative and the comment hit home, so be it. But I never said you were, nor did I imply it.

Ken: in the above comment, please not that I did not say my comment hit home.

Just wanted to make sure you didn’t make any other assumptions.

Rockerbabe – Obama has released a certification of live birth, not a birth certificate (they are not the same). And if your contribution is to claim that daring to question why we can’t see that birth certificate is racist, you don’t have much of a contribution.

If you want to see real racism, watch for people who invoke race when it isn’t there. Or just read your comment.

Yes, I posted what I posted. I did not imply you were a conservative. You could be a liberal and still have posted what you posted.

Get over it, you’re wrong here.

Is the KenMan STILL on this kick!!!??!!?? Doesn’t he have a job, or a life, or SOMETHING!!!??!! Well, (since I’m lucky enough for the KenDoll not to “speak” to me), this one’s for you Ken…….

“Long form birth certificate?” I think that you folks advocating for that out to check into a “long form mental institution.” You are ill.

In other words, you need Jesus, a job, and a Life. In that order!!!

Gotta go folks, classes to go to. In reverence to all the “birthers” out there, I’m due to take the Georgia Boards next year, if you guys are serious; please, please, PLEASE contact me to represent you in this matter, (Birthers vs. Sane People, et al.). My motto is, “No matter how futile the case, I still need the money!”

Good night Atlanta!!!!

JBF:

It WAS an embarrassing segment for G. Gordon Liddy, a man who is not easily embarrassed. I thought he was about to fall asleep.

I don’t for second think that Mr. Liddy believed was he saying, but was trying to appease his audience. He is usually a master manipulator. He kind of dropped the ball on this one.

Good Luck

You’re absolutely right, Clark. Homer Simpson would have probably put up a better defense, although in all fairness, HS is more of a staunch populist. At this point, the birther movement has run it’s course, and it’s proponents will be remembered as the reactionary wing-nuts that they are. Especially the nativist nut-job woman at the town hall meeting. I think that come 2012, minorities particularly are going to remember her and what she represents.

Actually, the number of the beast is 616. 666 is more a distant neighbour of the beast.
