wow, it is pretty much depressing to find people who believe the following:
1: The moon landing was faked. Do you realize the number of people who worked for NASA? Do you realize that Eisenhower made sure that NASA was to be a civilian corp so that our missiles would not cause space to be legally regarded as "off limits due to a nation's souviergn right to air and sea etc." The Russian's beat us into space with Sputnick and we chose NOT to use off the shelf Army missiles because it would have made it hard to defend the right to use space for reconnasiance in the future. Remember Gary Powers? Well we sent the Van Allen belt sattelite up so that it showed America was to use outer space as a science frontier and not as a mechanism for war. It is a fact that they (Politicians and scientists, military) were going to launch and blow up an atomic bomb on the moon to demonstrate our ability to be competent with our current technology. The idea was put down because the realization that it would only further extrapolate the space race and risk a Russian response. So after hundreds of documented launches and failures by both sides. and hundreds of thousands of people who made everything from the giant chutes to the helium tanks and the Saturn rocket to the telemetry and software, you must either be uneducated, undereducated or something else. There is so many things that can be explained to show even a 5 year old that the moon landings were real. one example stands out: Rocks were used from some remote site? Well, if you know anything about geology or astrobiology or radiochemical analysis, then you would understand how the rocks from the moon have been proven to be extra terrestrial by so many scientists in so many labs and by so many processes that your head would spin. Even glass air bubbles and radioactive isotope comparisons prove the age, compostion and origin of th rocks. These could not have been collected on the Earth's surface to the amount brought back and then turned over to the world as we gave samples to alot of nations and not a single nation or government has ever said anything to the contrary. So the alternative is that we can send probes to Mars.. We can send one out of the solar system. We can see throught the hubble telescope (deep field view), and we can track 4000 pieces of space junk every day. We have weather, spy and GPS sattelites and none of that is faked, but 10 years of slow and carefully probing our envelope of explorations got us to the moon was faked. Why not stop drinking coffee and eating anything chocolate because the first explorers who dared to find a way to cross the Atlantic and bring back those "spices" just faked it. I will drink my fake cup of coffee and eat a fake chocolate bar as I watch fake videos of the fake moon landing and deny all of the sacrifice and technology that was discovered through the endeavours of those who dared to go.

I was in the 3rd grade and watching it on our old Zenith TV. Saw Old Glory planted and realized that we were the greatest nation in human history. What heady times. Too bad we haven't advanced further in the last 40 years. That is a tragedy.

I know someone who was 8 years old when the moon landing occurred. I didn't exist at that time, so I asked him what he recalls. He doesn't remember one iota about the moon landing, not even whether or not he saw it on television with his parents or siblings! Is this how bad our memories are supposed to get over time — or does this merely indicate some people were just too young to appreciate it even if they did see it, hence no recollection? Oh, and here's the kicker: Had it been a sci-fi movie or if there was a theme song of any kind attached to it, he'd recall that! Hmm…

On one last note to those who dispute the moon landing. My local paper carried an article about one of the world's longest-running experiments, the reflector that is bouncing back information to JPL, a backpack-sized mirror that is still beaming light back to earth 40 years after Buzz Aldrin placed it on the moon's surface. Whenever I hear the conspiracy theorists, I never hear anybody ask them how we managed to get a laser reflector installed if we never set foot on the moon.

My dad worked for the Army Missile Command in Huntsville starting in 1960 or so. When John Glenn went up, I was CONVINCED it was due to my dad's work! As it turned out, he was chief project engineer for an anti tank missle system that finally was used in the Gulf War! (Couldn't use it in Viet Nam--too many trees).

Here in the N Ga mtns, they still hotly debate whether man ever REALLY landed on the moon. About half say it never happened; it was filmed in a tv studio. "See, if it was REAL they would have used a better "camry"(camera). They was trying to pertend it was real by using showing us that bad pitcher. Didn't fool me none." The other half declare that it did happen and that is what messed up the weather "every since."

I was about to be a senior in high school (and the next day was my birthday!) and I went over to the leader of the church youth group's house and several of us watched it together. I was given special permission to go over there (1 block away) even though it was pretty late in the evening. I had to come right back as soon as he was safely walking around and had planted the flag. How times have changed on what some kids are allowed to do!

No, I'm still around, after a good shower. Creative stuff!

It doesn't take that much imagination to see what would happen in the scenario I presented if the rich tourist takes the room. Keep it circulating, folks. Don't hoard it under your mattress!

Probably to late, but regarding TnG's 5:43 am:
Hotel proprietor takes the 100 Euro and pas his debt to the butcher.

The Butcher pays his taxes (sales, income, property, etc.; lets say those total 25%), then runs to the pig farmer and pays him 75 Euro of the 100 Euro he owes.

The Pig Farmer pays his taxes, then runs to pay 50.41 Euro of his 100 Euro invoice to the feed and fuel supplier.

The feed and fuel guy pays his taxes, then run to pay the prostitute 39.79 Euro of the 100 Euro he owes her. She promptly cuts him off.

The prostitute, this is Europe, pays her taxes, then runs to pay 25.71 Euro of her 100 Euro hotel bill.

The hotel owner is arrested and jailed for stealing 74.59 Euro. He concludes that he should have just taken the 100 Euro and left town.

The rich tourist goes to visit the prostitute, pays her 25 Euro for a BJ in the back seat of his car.

The prostitute uses the 25 Euro to buy a rail ticket to the next town. No one has any money in this town.
