The last sentence of the AP news article is most telling:
“Magnuson cited a lengthy historical record of testimony … to establish that serving Atlanta’s water needs was only an incidental purpose for the lake. He noted that Georgia officials argued as much to avoid having to pay for part of the project when the reservoir was built in the 1950s.” GA leadership did not want to pay in the 50’s now we are stuck. It’s fair. I’ve noticed our local pols, wags and reporters are ignoring this part of the story.

Hopefully no one will bomb Iran, but I was just thinking Obama needed to make a statement. I don’t think Russia or China would really mind in this case, altho they might express otherwise publicly.

I wasn’t talking about any “we” I was talking about you and only from the standpoint that it seems from your writing that you just wanted that war to end at the time and how that happened was of little consequence. Hindsight has nothing to do with it in my impression of your position as it likely stood at the time.

How would I know though. I’ve been getting younger all day long.

RW–it is not that it is an ends justifies the means position. We have the luxury at present of hindsight. At the time we had no idea which way it was going. We saw no ends.

Tn Gelding–would love to “get into it” over who’ll bomb Iran, but I’m being paged for Jalisco’s take out! We’ll see, though, I’m laying odds on Israel doing our dirty work for us. They’re already the pariah and we don’t have to answer to Russia and China…
