From the folks at McClatchy and the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer:
COLUMBUS, Ga. — U.S. Army Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook is seeking a federal court order to stall and eventually prevent an upcoming deployment to Afghanistan.
In the 20-page document — filed July 8 with the United States District Court, Middle District of Georgia — Cook’s California-based attorney, Orly Taitz, asks the court to consider granting his client’s request based upon Cook’s belief that President Barack Obama is not a natural-born citizen of the United States and is therefore ineligible to serve as commander-in-chief of U.S Armed Forces.
The major has achieved his first goal. He will not be deployed to Afghanistan. The Army would not put a man of such poor judgment in a command position and ask others to follow him, particularly in a war zone. The military doesn’t look kindly upon such shenanigans when perpetrated by a lowly enlisted person; when the nut in question has risen to the rank of major, the person becomes an embarrassment to the service.
In fact, the major’s deployment orders have already been revoked, according to his lawyer. “We won! We won before we even arrived,” Taitz told World Net Daily, the fringe site driving this story. “It means that the military has nothing to show for Obama. It means that the military has directly responded by saying Obama is illegitimate – and they cannot fight it. Therefore, they are revoking the order!”
As you can see, the lunacy compounds itself.
Taitz, a dentist with a correspondence-school law degree, has a plea up on her website recruiting members of the military to join her cause. And the hapless Major Cook may not be the first to fall in. Back in February, Lt. Scott Easterling allegedly joined Taitz, proclaiming that “until Mr. Obama releases a ‘vault copy’ of his original birth certificate for public review, I will consider him neither my Commander in Chief nor my President, but rather, a usurper to the Office — an impostor.”
At the time, Easterling was supposedly on active duty in Iraq. A story at military.com quoted a Washington attorney, Matthew Tully, regarding possible consequences for Easterling:
“If true, however, Easterling, as an Army officer, “is subject to … [provisions] against using contemptuous language toward the president.” There were such incidents in the 1990s, he said, when service members were disciplined for comments made against President Clinton. In one case brought under the provisions of Article 88 of the UCMJ a major general was forced to retire for comments he made, Tully said.
Easterling also could be charged with conduct unbecoming an officer, he said.”
My email is flooded daily with messages from these people, begging in the name of all that is Christian and American for help in removing “the usurper” from his ill-gotten office. The theme repeated in overwrought language is that the country cannot survive a full term with Obama in office.
There’s something strange, almost fascinating about how perfectly this storyline fills a psychological need among some to deny Obama’s legitimacy. But there’s also something dangerous about it. James von Brunn, the white supremacist madman who attacked the Holocaust Museum, was a believer in the usurper theory. Major Cook has thrown away his military career and will probably serve time in a military prison as punishment for being sucked into the madness. Taitz is trodding on dangerous ground as well by soliciting active-duty personnel into mutiny.
And the way these things work, any actions taken against Taitz, Cook and others will of course be taken as evidence that the conspiracy exists and must be exposed or overcome.

This is just the beginning of our brave soldiers standing up to the illegitimate “commander n’ chief”. Obama is wildly wrong to run the military and thank the real God that some brave Americans have the guts to stand up in the face of tranny. America cannot survive and become the socialist Obamanation.
The truth about Obama will come out and the truth will set the real America free again.

Moreover, the conservative Republican vote was down in the last election because these voters were so disaffected by the moderate liberal Republican standard bearer John McCain. But these folks are going to be ultramotivated to vote next year, and probably contribute and volunteer as well, because of the prevailing Democrat ultraleftism that so alienates them. At the same time, Obama inspired a maximum left-wing vote last year. But a lot of those voters are going to be unmotivated next year when they realize after two years that Obama did not show up to pay their house and car payments, or arrive at their door to deliver new kitchen appliances and cabinets at taxpayer expense.-AmSpec

Jay, sounds like the Military might be hiding something…Why not deploy this guy? He’s a dentist. He won’t hurt soldiers intentionally. Maybe he’s on to something? Just sayin’ All they would need to do to win this would be to produce documents proving Obama a natural born citizen. Why would he allow this to go on? Why can’t Barry just produce the docs? Maybe the dont’ exist? Not sure, but the militay caving like that doesn’t sound right to me…

Well, we might of lost the election but we can make this Obama so miserable that maybe he’ll step down and let a Real American like Sarah take his place. Anyhow, I say let’s just keep raising cain the way we done since he took office. It can’t hurt nothing. We’re out in the wilderness anyhow, so what worse could happen to us? Maybe we can stop paying taxes too because this Obama ain’t our real President and they got no right to take our money. If we all done it they couldn’t put us all in jail.
We need to give the Medal of Honor to this major. I know there’s some people that will claim he’s just a big coward for not wanting to go fight the Towelheads, but they’re just a bunch of crybaby libruls.
Anyhow, I know there are some people that will claim My President wasn’t really the commander in chief on account of he was elected by the Supreme Court not the people. But they’re wrong. My President had a birth certificate showing he was born right here in the U.S. of A. This major is Right. We don’t need no foreigner that wasn’t even born here in the White House. If he was born here he would be able to show his birth certificate. He ain’t got none. I bet if you went to Africa you would find one for him. Probly in some tribal village. Now I ain’t got a birth certificate on account of I was born at home and you didn’t get one back then but I could get a whole bunch of people together that would say they remember my Mama having me. That’s more than this Obama could do.
With this fat librul woman about to get on the Supreme Court we need to do all we can to put Conservatives back in power. Seems to me this major took the first step. Too bad they’re liable to court martial him and kick him out.
Have a good day everybody.

Hit the nail on the head. Cook is flirting with “dereliction of duty” and deserves what he may get. Have we really gotten to the point that President Obama is so despised by this racist cult, that they cannot even be civil. Seem to recall that the past administration did lots of damage to our country’s presitge and integrity by blatantly taking an international course of my way or no way. At the same time, allowing anything goes for civilian contractors and business.
Obama does not have to produce a birth certificate, that issue was over a longtime ago. There is no conspiracy, there is no illegitamcy. It does not even make for good discussion.

The bill would levy a surtax starting at 1 percent on individuals earning more than $280,000, rising to 5.4 percent for those earning $1 million a year. Businesses would have to pay a tax of 8 percent of their payroll if they do not offer coverage, with an exemption for businesses with payrolls less than $250,000.

We need to establish a screening commission for presidential candidates, or as Newt has suggested, remove the CinC assignment from their duties. Paleocons, like neofascists, tend to be anti-Zionist, isolationist, antiglobalization, economically populist, and culturally conservative. Aside from the “culturally conservative” part, they sound like leftists to me. Oh, btw, they’re also prone to conspiracy theorizing.
Having said all that, let me repeat….paleoconservatives can sound very appealing to many on the left of center when it comes to US foreign policy, US-Israeli relations, economic populism and globalization.

If people really knew the law, they’d know that there are other ways of becoming a citizen other than being born in the U.S. Citizenship can also be derived from the parent. Check these two charts, and you can see what I’m talking about.

Nationality Chart #2: http://www.shusterman.com/citz-chart2.html

If he was born outside the U.S., there would be a Certificate of Birth Abroad. Either way, he’d still be a U.S. Citizen by virtue of his mother.

Wow, imagine this, the liberals are trampling all over the good name of another soldier, even though they “support” the troops.
Especially, now check this out, one who is refusing to participate in a war.
Who would have ever thought that the surrender monkeys would become chicken hawks in such a short period of time?
Perhaps our girl doesn’t have the right message?

Button? Wasn’t he the illiterate signer? Seems I’ve heard that somewhere and, well, his IS the rarest of signatures for those in the market for such…

Angry Black Man has the links right there.
I suppose some people can’t be bothered to actually click on links and then engage their brains. Much easier to sit back and let the warm fuzzy words of Rush and Sean wash over your brain and take your thoughts from theirs.

ABM I concur he is a US citizen. My question is where was he born? Doesn’t matter a hill of bean about his citizenship, but it does speak to the integrity of the man. I wouldn’t care for him if he was born in my house with my own mother and father as his parents. My point is, if it’s no big deal, show the ORIGINAL CERTIFICATE OF LIVE BIRTH, not the short form.

Well, josef, like, if I like had to like answer to the likes of you like I’d go crazy just trying to keep up with whom I liked. By the way, aren’t you the blogger that like got all upset because a post got held up.
Finally, it makes a hell of a lot more sense to link the fact that the suit was filed in Columbus, Georgia with Georgia’s education system than it does to link the inability of this nut case Major to obtain a satisfactory copy of Obama’s birth certificate with his refusal to uphold his voluntary obligations.

Finn, I can only provide the info. I can’t make them read it. I have friends who had to memorize that info. There’s actually 4 different charts. Those two are the easiest to understand. I don’t think the other two would apply to Obama.

I don’t think this nut case Major qualifies as one of the “troops”. I would not want him covering me under fire. He might just have a change of heart and decide that his duties have suddenly changed.

Angry Black Man,
I pointed out that one day to our former resident birther – and he modified his story to claim that he was lying because he knew if he said he was born in Kenya, he would lose votes. Weird.
ByteMe,
LOL!!! I finished my Cheerios a while ago. Although another bowl seems to be in order soon. Cheerios just don’t last as long as cheesy shrimp grits.
N-GA,
You know – I have a weird name, but Orly Taitz? Thanks for bringing that up – that just doesn’t seem American enough of a name. I think we should consider the possibility of an international conspiracy to commit terroristic crimes against the populace which involves our servicemen and women – don’t you think?

If one doesn’t want to be deployed, perhaps one shouldn’t join the military. It is all volunteer isn’t it?

Well, dang! You mean you don’t have to be born inside the U.S. of A. to be a natural born citizen?
Some people just got to ruin everything for us. I want Bookman to kick this Angry Black Man off of this blog. Besides being one of Those People he uses facts against us fine Conservative bloggers.
Have a good day everybody.

GTW, I was born in Alabama, and the only thing I’ve ever seen from my birth is the short form. I haven’t seen my Record of Live Birth. The only time I’ve ever seen one of those records is when I was filing one for my daughter. Would that be a question of my integrity if I couldn’t produce the long form for my birth?

that’s like the ninnies that tried to declare “conscientious objector” status at the beginning of the war. I’m sorry, you enlisted for the army – any qualms you had about fighting should have been resolved before you walked into the recruiting office.

USinUK,
When people ask me my name, I just start spelling…..real slow like. And most of the time I still have to repeat it.

If this guy was enlistd he’s be gettingTHEBIG CHICKEN DINNER, but since Maj Cook is an officer avoiding troop movements, I’d say he’s a candidate to lose rank, $$$ and be forced to resign his commission right after his psych eval.

Trust Me–No, I’m the blogger who got all upset when the post wasn’t released and no explanation was forthcoming in a timely fashion. The case was filed in Georgia because that’s where the plaintiff is resident.
I posted as I did because gratuitous swipes at Georgia’s educational system tend to rankle me, and, as an employee thereof and a citizen of the state of Georgia, I am honor bound to speak up. Thass all, jus’ sayin’
