I agree with Jay Bookman on leadership, but I'd add one name. John Lewis, while a great civil rights leader, seems to do very little to help Atlanta. Atlanta was reported to be the only major city that needed overhauls of the water and sewer systems but received no federal help. Rep. Lewis is now in a leadership position in the House, but the only benefit for Atlanta that I've seen was $300,000 to plant vegetables at the Botanical Gardens. Does Jay know of anything else?

S GA Dem, the wait time came straight from the Canadian Health Systems website. It provides statistics on all the provinces wait time. All I can say is I am glad don't have to use their system.

Will post more tomorrow.

I worked in Ottawa,ON for nearly 2 years. My secretaries husband was a painter who fell from a ladder, he had a meniscal tear that would be repared here as out patient in 3-5 days. He waited 6 months as it was non life threatening. Nearly 20% of all cancer patients in Canada die awaiting treatment. There are more MRI's in Atlanta then there are in all of Canada. As you get older more and more services are witheld in their system as it is deemed to be non cost effective. The Dr. who initiated the Canadian health care system has gone on record as stating it was a horrible mistake, he has apologized to the Canadian people. I was there and got a pretty good look at and I know I don't want it here.

Talk about a drought of leadership and vision -- look at our latest lack at the national level -- Iran has a right to nuclear energy. Meanwhile our domestic vision does NOT include nuclear, but looks to green sources....

What have we done??????????
