NJ said the Tess baby would have suffered death "almost immediately after birth because for her birth condition there is not only no treatment but no survival except for a few brief and painful moments after birth."

According to the site the child had cystic fibrosis. Where did you get your information about CF? According to the CF Foundation the average life expectancy for a person with CF is 36.8 years.

NJ also says, "No one gets to walk in at the eight month of pregnancy and say 'We cant afford this child, get rid of it.'" Talk about a myth--when the partial-birth abortion ban was introduced in the mid 1990's there was abundant evidence that some abortionists employed the gruesome procedure regularly for purely elective abortions. Even though partial-birth abortion is now illegal, other late term methods (saline amniocentesis, etc.) are still legal and practiced for practically any reason.

Of course what the link to the little Tess site fails to note is the sort of death the child would have suffered almost immediately after birth because for her birth condition there is not only no treatment but no survival except for a few brief and painful moments after birth.

Now this is one of the parents who had already been fully prepared to have a child, had prepared a nursery and learned that the child would simply not live more than a few moments after birth or would have died painfully during the birth process.

Fact is that for every late term abortion Tiller performed, two doctors unrelated to his practice, had to affirm, that the child had no chance of living surviving the pregnancy or birth.

One of the most EVIL things the anti abortionists have done was selectively remove sections of Tillers written or spoken statements from the context in which they were spoken such as when Tiller said that "some of you may be here for reasons of economic hardship" and yada yada...

What is left out is Tillers statement that he can only perform late term abortions under Kansas law when the pregnancy consitutes a "dire" threat to the mothers life or health. Thats the law in Kansas and the anti-abortion movements "distortions " of these facts in fact are what led to the murder of Tiller. Basically their propagandists created the motive for murder.

of course anti abortionists have completely distorted late term abortions completely.

Under Roe itself late term abortions are RIGOROUSLY controlled and reasons like "Financial" or "Emotional" dont make the cut under the law as it exists today or has existed since 1973. No one gets to walk in at the eight month of pregnancy and say "We cant afford this child, get rid of it" Biggest lie going.

In fact the situation as it exists today:

*********************************************************************

37 states prohibit some abortions after a certain point in pregnancy.

24 states initiate prohibitions at fetal viability.

5 states initiate prohibitions in the third trimester.

8 states initiate prohibitions after a certain number of weeks, generally 24.

The circumstances under which procedures are permitted after that point vary from state to state. For example:

29 states permit abortions to preserve the life or health of the woman;

4 states permit abortions to save the life or health of the woman, but use a narrow definition of health;

4 states permit abortions only to save the life of the woman.

Some states require the involvement of a second physician when a later-term abortion is performed.

Nine states require that a second physician attend in order to treat a fetus if it is born alive.

Ten states require that a second physician certify that the abortion is medically necessary.

Kansas law is strict on the issue of late-term abortions.

Kansas law requires that such procedures can only be performed after viability if two independent doctors agree that not to do so would put the mother at risk of irreparable harm by giving birth.

***********************************************************

Kansas has some of the STRICTEST laws on late term abortion in the country. Tiller could ONLY perform a late term abortion under some of the STRICTEST term in the United States and those being that the mothers PHYSICAL HEALTH would be in dire threat or even fatal.

As in most thing, such as torture, such as going to war just for fun, the conservative anti abortion movement has no qualms about simply LYING about abortion in America.

What the anti-abortion movement in America is about is removing ALL rights from a woman to protect herself and her own life in case of pregnancy. One particular fact is that on average 78 percent of conceptions end up in miscarriage. The later the miscarriage, the more likely that the woman will die before medical help arrives, usually by bleeding out. The vast majority of all abortions occur before the 12th week. The vast majority of miscarriages occur AFTER the 12th week and before the 20th. The later in the pregnancy the miscarriage occurs, the more bleeding likely.

One in four women WILL have at least ONE miscarriage between first mense and the age of 45.

I disagree with the argument that absolves the hate-mongers from any responsibility for inciting hate because somebody else would do it if they didn't. You could say the same thing about dealing drugs, for instance.

Dr. George Tiller is a hero who saved women’s lives.

This is Republican health care: murder and prisons.

Anti-abortion proponents are all endorsing violence either by government law enforcement or by vigilante enforcement.

Republicans think their religious views must be enforced with a gun one way or another. Who needs the Taliban when we have Republican Terrorists in our own back yard!

The only difference between Republican Religious Bigots an the Taliban Bigots is the name of their religion – they both believe in Violence and Murder to enforce their views.

Abortion is not murder. A fetus is part of a woman’s body until she gives birth.

Republicans who claim not to want a government health care takeover just prefer to take over our right to our own bodies weather it be for abortions, gay sex, straight sex, or drug use – even immigration – prisons and guns are the republican version of health care.

All republican bigots do is create underground markets with their white washed tomb with dead men's bones religious hypocrisy.

I would love for all pro-choice supporters to watch a late term abortion and then let me know if you still believe it is not murder. Have I seen one, no, but I have read how it is done. Have you? You dismiss the details and science because you don't want to feel anything about the social choices you make. I am not an activist. I don't stand on street corners and make others feel ashamed for what they are doing. I just pray.

Every person in this world makes their own choices. You cannot blame anyone for the actions of another. The murder of Dr.Tiller is the blame of the person who shot him. His choice.

I know many people as I am sure you do as well who rose high above the situation they were in and became wonderful people, parents and mentors. They could have allowed themselves the excuse to be far less with the blame of their background, but they chose to fight the bad and do good. You can't blame the inflammetory words of one person as the cause of some guy to murder another. Ridiculous!
