How ’bout some Southern fried travelin’ music?

Yeah, I know Mr. Charlie Daniels would not approve of my politics. But I do approve of his music. Very much so. If this doesn’t put a bounce in your step on the way home this evening, I’m sorry I cannot help you.

Weird thing, when Gordon Lightfoot wrote that song the ship hadn’t been found. He said the “she might have split up or she might have capsized” he made up. When they did find her, she was broken in two pieces with one half upside down. He’s since become friends with the families of the crew.

Of course. The South is the only region in the country that is still basically on welfare. Every other region of the country gets back less than a dollar for each dollar it sends to the federal government back from the federal government in order to support the South, which gets back 1.19 for every dollar it sends to D.C. Its just the only area of the country that cannot get the modern world, and modern economics right.

At least that is getting Georgia a lot of world press. Almost every international radio broadcaster is sending reporters to to “Special news broadcasts” on this area of the country, least prepared to handle the economic crisis. Last week the BBC was in Atlanta, this week, they were in Peachtree City. The main thrust of the stories, the area of the country where the American Dream has seen the biggest failures.

The Kim Jong Il stuff is because if this guy is on the way out or incapacitated, his generals dont want the U.S. and other countries playing regime change games while there is a power struggle for the succession. Its like Jefferson said, by the third generation, any powerful person who makes history, for good or ill, has a bunch of incompetants to succeed them in most cases. And since Kim Il Sung died and Kim Jong Il, his son took his place, the dictatorship just isnt what it used to be. Strange, but the first dictator in the family tree was raised a protestant Christian and his maternal granddad was a protestant minister. In any case, this is all about making certain that there is no external hanky panky when it comes time for them to replace the “Dear Leader”

The stimulus money is being released as the states send in their request for it, and basically they have to sort of request it for each project that they have in mind, so it gets used on what it is supposed to be used for. They can’t just ask for it, and then decide they are going to distribute it all to big, private corporations and then claim they are going to use it on infrastructure, or to build a new school library and then use most of it on salaries for the top administrators of the contstruction company, etc. If you go to “Recovery.gov” the public gets to look at how every cent has been disbursed and how its being spent. The section of the site for what Georgia has asked for and what it says its going to spend it on is here:

Strunz and Farah. One is Costa Rican, the other Iranian. One plays what is called Guitarra Morisca, in which a plectrum (pick) is used on a nylon stringed guitar and the other is “Guitarra Hispanica” which is just spanish guitar where the fingers of the right hand are used to sound the strings. Normally you dont want to play a nylon stringed guitar with a pick, because there is no pick guard and you can rip the top up pretty good, but on a flamenco guitar, there is a “tap plate” that the player uses sometimes to get a percussive effect of of the top of the guitar by striking it with the fingernails. But it acts as a pick guard when played like this.

Aint just liberals. Marx is having a comeback and no more stronger than on Wall Street. These guys are looking for someone to explain the mess they got the country into, and both Marx and Kenyes writings are having record sales that are getting into Best Seller levels.

Even Christopher Hitchens, one time leftist turned free market publicists just penned an article titled “The Revenge of Karl Marx”

Marx quotes are all the rage on Wall Street as the investor blog “blogging stocks discusses the Marx quotes being discussed on Wall Street and of course even consertive blogs are pointing to an article about how the “free marketers” of Wall Street have turned to Marx for their inspiration about how to save the economy in an article entitled:

Comeback of Karl Marx?

By Martin Masse
In his Communist Manifesto, published in 1848, Karl Marx proposed 10 measures to be implemented after the proletariat takes power, with the aim of centralizing all instruments of production in the hands of the state. Proposal Number Five was to bring about the “centralization of credit in the banks of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.”
If he were to rise from the dead today, Marx might be delighted to discover that most economists and financial commentators, including many who claim to favour the free market, agree with him.

http://conservativechatroom.blogspot.com/2008/10/comeback-of-karl-marx.html

Sorry kids, the guys who have been running the nation’s “free market” for the last 30 years have had to turn to Marx for their solutions.

While you agreed with these guys when they were touting free market solutions, you have suddenly started to disagree with them when the only solutions these wealthy free marketers can turn to is …Marx because they know the market better than anyone else.

Palin is hardly one of “We the People” I cannot imagine a person who is less “We the People” than Palin. When you compare her personal life, to the affectation of “We the People” that she put on for the presidential campaign, this is more than obvious. Rather, the only real objection to Obama is that he is really not “We the White People”
