Scientists and politicians need to make money too. Study a hypothesis and retest for the government to throw money at me to do it, pretty smart.

I wouldn't neglect my family for a million dollar check with my Nobel Prize though, not worth it.

Look up Swedish geologist and physicist Nils-Axel Morner... a fifty year study.

The reason Russia looks so hot is because the report above used old and dicredited data. That has been corrected in legit reports but is still being used in bogus climate scare storys.

The took a single year of temprature data from Russia and used the same data for 10 years in a row to make temprature look hotter.

It has been competely discredited.

What's there to say, really? When climate change hits the tipping point all of our lives will be altered swiftly, and radically. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a one-legged blind man in an ass-kicking contest. Very, very few people have even got the vaguest clue of how bad this is really going to be. Personally, I'm in one of the safest areas of the continent, and, while I'm no nut-bar survivalist, I have a stock of food, water, weapons, and ammo. I'm sure people from down south will come here in search of survival when their situation goes full-on FUBAR, but me and mine will not be among otherwise unprepared victims. You should all understand that the government cannot help you because it can not even admit the seriousness of the problem. Best wishes and good luck to everyone, but I shoot to kill.

Vuduchld,

I am a scientist and global warming is a bunch of bologna. Again, I refer you to my original post - how does one know what the mean global temperature is supposed to be? One also has to take into consideration that methods for taking measurements, at least from an equipment perspective, have vastly improved. Can you say with certainty what the mean global temperature was in 1880 or 1920 or even 1950? I don't think it's out of the question to hypothesize that the range of values displayed in the plot to demonstrate global warming are statistically no different.

"If the sea levels rise, it will be over a period of years, and landowners will simply relocate."

MD,you better tell those landowners to get their boats and paddles out because those water levels are rising as you type!

WOW, I sure hope none of these ne'er-do-wells responding to this article are scientists because we would all be in serious trouble. The fact of the matter is that the earths climate is changing and changing for the worse. No one factor or cause will likely be the culprit, but everyone needs to understand that we cannot sit back and let this change occur without understanding it. The "spontaneous generation" crowd have not presented one shred of credible evidence that change is not occurring. Your "climate charts" going back billions of years prove nothing.
Scientists on the "global warming" side of the debate need to firm up the data and present their findings in a clear and concise manner that can be understood by everyone.
With rapid thawing of both the North and South poles economic and political ramifications from this thawing are critical to North America and other countries long term survival. Ecological changes in the Great Barrier reef along with systemic ocean pollution have the potential for significant effects elsewhere. Burying one's head in the sand is not an option. Our very survival as a species depends on us getting this right.

How many assumptions went in to "formulating" the GLOBAL temps for those early years? Trust the scientist... after all they get a lot of funding from D.C.

Don't be a tool!
