Kamchak,

"I suspect that you, like me, make friends with those that share your values"

I meant to comment on this yesterday, but if we were all democrats, would we not have all been sharing the same values at the time?

Time to face it Republicans quit trying to solicit support from Libertarians, moderates, independents, or Reagan Democrats. They coined the phrase Rhino and quit supporting candidates like ex Rhode Island senator Lincoln Chaffee or Arlen Specter who voted with them probably 85% of the time which was just not good enough. No need to try to convert Joe Lieberman to be a Republican he would not measure up either in how he votes. The party is about purity and is not done with it's purge. The social conservative party now listens to Rush, Hannity, and pundits to decide who is acceptable to speak others like RNC chairmen Michael Steele are told to just shut up. Republicans are not done eating their young yet. Most voters will not join Rush's Ditto Heads in believing Sarah Palin or even Dick Cheney can be our president in 2012. This party is a fringe party that has contempt for most of us..

Tom, two years on and the more things change, the more they stay the same with some of our more intransigent and now, dispirited "contributors".

Last night one of the other inane and vitriolic regulars here was blathering how this is a Conservative country. (With a capital C of course, and not to be confused with liberal with a lower case l!)

Nonsense. Utter absurdity. Pure prattle.

Look at our culture. The one they so despise.

Even our economic system is extremely liberal. To a fault.

And honestly, these frauds have an understanding of the term conservative that rivals their comprehension of.....well.....er.....ahem...let's see....

Poorly educated, virtually lacking in intellectual curiosity, blinded by Jesus fever, forever paranoid and violent and completely unable to make a persuasive argument based on anything but hyper-emotional claptrap, they are where they deserve to be.

Hugely outnumbered, effectively emasculated and living on the fringes of social and political thought.

Duty calls. Someone has to keep this gangr@ped American economy rolling along...

Fraudulent voter registration forms. Wow. I wonder what these districts ever did to try and keep those people from voting hundreds of times. Perhaps, there was no way to keep one person from coming back and voting over and over and over and over and over and over and over...the horror of it all...one person in county with the power to sway elections.

Ray's analysis:

46% of the electorate didn’t vote for the “Chocolate Blunder”, as Wild Bill has stated. If the Republican party is down to only 21% of the electorate, where did the remaining 35% of the votes come from?

From people who can't add 21 and 35?

get OFF the abortion band wagon and start a prevention campaign.

It would seem the only way Republicans know to prevent pregnancy is to preach abstinence, and to make scary claims about condom failure rates to discourage condom use altogether, and to provide aid and comfort to those who feel it's ok to refuse to dispense birth control pills under some kind of pharm. "conscientious objector" status.

It's a recipe for failure The problems with Republicans and modern sexual behavior are systemic and will take decades to undo.

If so, please explain why, and show your work.
