Obama married to one of 100 most beautiful

From Reuters:
obama

“Breast cancer survivor Christina Applegate made the cover of People magazine’s 100 most beautiful people issue on Wednesday in a list that welcomed newcomers U.S. first lady Michelle Obama and “Twilight” heart-throb Robert Pattinson.,,,

Michelle Obama, who has achieved celebrity status and has wowed the world as a fashion icon, made the list for the first time.

“I had a father and a brother who thought I was beautiful, and they made me feel that way every single day,” Obama told the magazine. “I grew up with very strong male role models who thought I was smart and fast and funny, so I heard that a lot. I know that there are many young girls who don’t hear it. But I was fortunate,” she added.”

geithner

However, I have to acknowledge that the magazine did call into question its ability to make such judgments when it also included Tim Geithner on its list.

Really? Tim Geithner?

Michelle Obama is a big boned lumbering giant of a woman with huge feet and a flat face. Contrary to what all those who suffer from the “King has New Clothes syndrome” in this country would like you to believe, ( she is black you know, and that is to worn as a protective shield nowadays) she is not a beauty. Geithner looks like some South American, nocturnal canopy dwelling marcupial. If this is the new “Beautiful”, what exactly is the defintion of “ugly”? This is a bunch of $#!+.

I guess she’s not beautiful, considering she doesn’t have blond hair and
fake boobs.Put those two “attributes” on a wart hog, and some people would call it hot.

I’m not sure what’s funnier about our online conservatives: the way they try to deny Michelle Obama’s beauty, or the way they insist on overselling Sarah Palin’s.

Pres and Mrs Obama have both made a point of telling children, particularly African American children, of their road to success – their family support, hard work, drive, ambition. And they are role models for what can be achieved.

And what does People focus on?

Appearance.

On another note: those “Top N” lists for accomplishment, respect, etc: how many people can name, oh, say, 25 men or 25 women who’ve made ’significant contributions to blah blah blah” who are not in politics or entertainment?

They should change the name of the list to “The Top 25 Men and Women Named by Most People (most of whom could name only 8 before they gave up)”

Seriously,

As a heterosexual guy my vote would not to include Michele Obama in the list. I have personally in the past month or so seen close to 100 women that were more attractive than her.

This is not to say she is ugly or anything of the sort, but seriously 100 MOST BEATIFUL IN THE WORLD?

She is not that hot, she is an average looking woman, not bad but not great.

And for you frederick, have never dated or pursuied any that met your criteria but good job stereotyping.

You know us white folks only like blondes and other whites. :)

I just can’t believe that with all of the problems we all are facing together, that this is what we spend our time working on. Atlanta is talking about raising taxes again on the news tonight. Don’t you think we need to find out where all of that money is going? I just wrote a huge check to the United States Treasury, and another to the Georgia Department of Revenue. I would like to know where every last cent was spent. I would also like a line item veto to disallow any expenses that I do not approve. How’s that for something more reasonable to talk about. Can you believe we have not been able to pass the Fair Tax yet?

I dunno about one of the top 100 most beautiful women in the world, but she CERTAINLY is the best looking First Lady in my lifetime. By FAR. But then I doubt I would agree that many of the “most beautiful women” on that list would be on mine. Is Angelina Jolie there? If so, it could at BEST contain the 99 “most beautiful women in the world.”

N.J,

True. But there is no reason why a first lady in her sixties can’t be beautiful.

Fair Tax will never pass. Because in typical Georgia Fashion it is only fair to the extremely wealthy and will double the tax on anyone who earns less than 100,000 a year. Right now, no one pays more than 23 percent income tax. No one. Because no one pays taxes on their gross income. The average person right now, after deductions, pays considerably less than 15 percent of their gross income.

Any book that says that the Fair Tax is 23 percent, and then has to add a tiny addendum in the back that says “Well, its really more like 33 percent) is simply a method of tricking the working class into giving the wealthy a break. Its also unconstitutional. If you look at the writings of the founding fathers arguing to get the Constitution ratified, you see that they intended a progressive taxation on the wealthy, and strict control of buisnesses. The Boston Tea Party itself was never an “anti tax revolt” it was a revolt against tax cuts for the wealthy. The rich London created their own version of the “Fair Tax” giving big tax breaks to the rich and to large businesses(One BIG business in particular, the British East India Company) and passed the cost on to the poor and small businesses and the rest is American History. Taxing the wealthy and big businesses is the most American thing we do, the thing that made America different from every nation on earth when our great nation was created. It is completely UNAMERICAN to suggest a tax that is such a big givaway to the wealthy and megacorporations. Call it class warfare if you like. The American Revolution was all about class warfare and to give it up is to betray this nation.

My grandparents always stressed “Beauty is in the eyes of the beholden” timeless adage and will always be viable even after the GOP are gone.

Lady O is beautiful — in my eyes she exhibits the poise, style, grace, attitude, and sincerity of a Lady that is what makes her beautiful to me.

However, if you put Sarah Palin or the new Boob Carrie Prejean etc… I do not find them beautiful because they lack character and beauty within.

I don’t know about 100 Most Beautiful, but Michelle is certainly very attractive. She obviously works out because she has a very nice body. Her beauty might not be like the little skinny air brushed models on magazine covers, but guess what? She has class, she’s smart, she has a lovely family, and she’s secure in who she has become. The woman has it going on and I admire her. Now, some others on the list might be a lot better looking, but some of them are so messed up in the head, I can’t believe they have sense enough to come in out of the rain.

Dude

“Fair Tax will never pass” maybe so, but…

You may be right. some people are too lazy to work for themselves. Once the majority find out they can vote themselves an income, the fight is over, as well as the fundamental structure of this country. The United States of America was not founded by a group of people that said “hey, where’s my free stuff?”. It was founded upon principles of an but kicking group of individuals that were tired of other people sucking them dry like a parasite for their achievements! I could go on for days about the injustice that is being done to the small business owners in this country. The United States will find out soon enough that when you punish the achievers in this country for achieving and excelling, they will stop achieving and performing. They will say “why am I working so hard to support others who do not have the same work ethic?” When you are punished for creating jobs, making a profit, and growing the economy, guess what? You don’t create jobs, Make a profit, or grow the economy. Pretty simple, eh? Does this make sense to you? Then tax revenues go down, people lose jobs, and the tax has to be increased to make up for the lost tax revenues due to less tax collection! Then comes inflation. Jesus people, if we only had schools that taught
the history of the USA. It is a wonderful history that is filled with inspiration. If you live in the United States and are waiting for the US Government to “bail you out”, you are a lost cause. This is the most prosperous nation on the face of the Earth. If you can’t make it here, you are lazy. Please don’t punish the rest of us for prospering, We are employing your friends and relatives.
