Time for a well-earned weekend, let me tell you

I heard a studio version of this song by the Blind Boys on the radio recently, and it was totally funky, as they would say in the day. It’ll set you boppin’ on your way home on this beautiful Friday evening.

The sound quality on this live Youtube version isn’t great, but it does give you an idea of the energy behind this arrangement of a true gospel classic.

Only the libs would classify plant food a “pollutant,” idiocy at it’s finest-

The government took a major step in that direction Friday, concluding that carbon dioxide and five other greenhouse gases “endanger public health and welfare” under federal clean air laws, that they help cause climate change, or global warming and pose an enormous threat “in both magnitude and probability.”

And the only thing these junk science environmental terrorists will ever change is how much your energy usage costs, didn’t think they were gonna raise your taxes, did you?

Well, they just did, morons.

That should be good for the poor and needy.

Maybe the junk science environmental terrorists could check out ground level ozone, because CO2 has nothing to do with the formation of smog.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow — in April

Storm brings rain, strong winds to Las Vegas region

The National Weather Service said Wednesday’s high was 59 degrees, which fell short of the record low high of 56 degrees set in 1998.

The last time snow fell in Las Vegas in April was on April 4,1958, making Wednesday’s activity the latest snow sighting recorded to date.

They must use their wits and make it to a safe house before their counterparts, who are set adrift in Vermont with shirts that say “I love the NRA”, “conservatives are people, too”, and “children are not toys, quit playing with them”. April 17th, 2009

We simply can’t keep running at this pace and expect the comforts we now enjoy to keep on coming.

Sorry, but you are brainwashed.

Let’s start from the beginning-

Reductions of greenhouse emissions are supposed to save lives, supposedly, correct?

It is true, as Hunt noted, that the 2003 heatwave claimed 2,000 lives in Britain; that human-caused warming will increase global temperatures by about 2.6 degrees Celsius on average; and that high temperatures cause heat strokes, heart attacks and other illnesses, which hit the elderly and chronically ill the hardest. But low temperatures also kill. The old, infirm, homeless and very young are at the highest risk of hypothermia, heart attacks, strokes and illnesses caused or exacerbated by the cold.

Winter regularly takes many more lives than any heatwave: 25,000 to 50,000 people each year die in Britain from excess cold. Across Europe, there are six times more cold-related deaths than heat-related deaths. We know this from the world’s biggest cross-national, peer-reviewed studies under the aegis of Professor William Keatinge of the University of London.

Now, what about food shortages?

Climate and Agriculture. The present warming trend has not resulted in agricultural water shortages. Indeed, rainfall is currently increasing moderately over most of the world because global warming evaporates more water from the oceans, where it falls back to earth in a reinvigorated hydrological cycle.

Infrared satellite readings show that the Earth has been getting greener since 1982, thanks apparently to increased rainfall and CO2. Worldwide, vegetative activity generally increased by 6.17 percent between 1982 and 1999 – despite extended cloudiness due to the 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo and other well-publicized environmental stresses.

OK, so let’s address the fact that the Earth has been getting COLDER the last decade-

Last Monday – on ABC Radio National, of all places – there was a tipping point of a different kind in the debate on climate change. It was a remarkable interview involving the co-host of Counterpoint, Michael Duffy and Jennifer Marohasy, a biologist and senior fellow of Melbourne-based think tank the Institute of Public Affairs. Anyone in public life who takes a position on the greenhouse gas hypothesis will ignore it at their peril.

Duffy asked Marohasy: “Is the Earth stillwarming?”

She replied: “No, actually, there has been cooling, if you take 1998 as your point of reference. If you take 2002 as your point of reference, then temperatures have plateaued. This is certainly not what you’d expect if carbon dioxide is driving temperature because carbon dioxide levels have been increasing but temperatures have actually been coming down over the last 10 years.”

And, finally-

New Danish research shows that large parts of Greenland were covered by forest. This was discovered by analysing fossil DNA which had been ~~~~~~~~preserved under the kilometre-thick icecap.~~~~~~~~ The DNA-traces are likely close to 450,000 years old, and that means that Greenland was also covered in a large ice sheet 125,000 years ago during the earth’s last warm period, Eem. This was while the climate was 5 degrees warmer than the interglacial period we currently live in.

Believe me dude, there are A LOT of things the democrats and pinko journalists lie about.

A lot of things.

They want to be consequential without any risk, save the world without any efforts, so they create “catastrophes” that only they can “save” us from.

And it really helps them to have a bunch of brainwashed nincompoops to believe the nonsense they spew.

You got a link to data showing what the glaciers are doing and what the ocean levels are doing and what the corrected temperatures are doing. You see, scientists like to have multiple sources that do not conflict otherwise it raises questions and scientists go out and look for the sources of the errors. We use raised beds for the tomatoes and herbs. I plow up a slightly larger patch for the corn and okra and squash and cucumbers and lima beans and crowder peas. Plus, I plant a few extra stalks for the black bears. They come through and pick a few ears and carry them over to the safety of the pines and eat them and leaves the husks piled up for me. They’re so considerate. We also have set out blueberries and thornless blackberries and figs and rasberries. In the near future, I plan on taking out some more pines and planting either pecans or apples. Maybe even a pear or two. The only thing that’s struggling are the figs. The deer really like them — almost as much as our young azeleas. Also, the figs really prefer warmer weather. They did just fine when we lived down in Gwinnett County.

I noticed on the earlier thread that Corporal updated his “enemies list”.

you’re gonna run out of people to respond to your lunacy soon, Beetle Bailey.

Sorry for the extra words in the post before. I like to run it through spell check before b/c I’m a lazy typer, but sometimes I forget to paste it correctly.

Midori,

I have been added to the Corporal’s list. What did I do! I think it had something to do with the talks about when life begins and what Obama’s record is and such things.

Corporal,

Love the video. And I agree with you above about the timing. The other side of that is, of course, you need to be able to recognize when the time is right.

I’m not convinced the Republicans, had they won in November, would have made the gestures Obama has that have precipitated the thaw.

I know it is hard to understand, but global warming global Warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s near-surface air and oceans.

Warming being the operative word here.

Uh, how do you get more snow from a warmer globe?

Oh yeah, brainwashed.

How do you like that, everybody, I got verifiable facts such as readings from the thermometer and snow in April and they babble on insanely about how it snows more in a warmer world.

So which side are you on?

Or that Cuba would have made the concessions. That they feel comfortable with Obama is disturbing.

As a recall, last evening were having a civil discussion before you signed off and didn’t even get the obligatory “agree to disagree, I call it as I see it, thanks for your input.”

Joseph McCarthy also kept a list. Kinda presumptuous. Didn’t turn out so well for him in the end.

jewcowboy,

I plan on planting corn, silver queen and a sweet hybrid. I will also plant okra, crowder peas, lima beans, yellow squash, and cucumbers. All of those go in the plowed garden. It’s only about 100′ by 100′ right now but I think that I can probably double it without too much work now that I’ve got this patch done.

We’ll plant tomatoes and herbs and probably peppers in raised beds this year. We do pretty good although each year seems to bring a new surprise as to which vege does the best for some reason. I have not gotten too scientific on that aspect and won’t unless I just stop getting a good crop for no obvious reason. Last year the corn did the worst but a neighbor gave us a few hundred ears and I shared some of our crowder peas in exchange. I only had four rows of crowders and I was giving away paper grocery bags full to the neighbors and we still have a few dozen bags pint bags left in the freezer (I prefer to blanch and freeze most veges rather than can). The year before last, it was the corn and okra that did the best. I planted an assortment of hot peppers two years ago and I could not find enough people to give them to. I had never grown so many jalapenos and other varieties from so few plants before.

Anyway, I highly recommend that people experiment with gardens and never give up. It does take some practice and you will likely have ups and downs but the food cannot be beat. Further, we have never used any pesticides other than soap for aphids one year. It’s great.

I Report/ You Whine,

I know this a hard concept, but here we go.

Let’s start with you. You occupy about 2 sq. feet of space. You live in a domicile. It may take up about 2000 sq feet, unless you are Candy Spelling then it takes up 45000 sq feet.

You live in a neighborhood, and the neighborhood is in a city. The city is in a state. The state is in a region. The region is in a country. The country is in a Continent. The continent is in the GLOBE.

The temperature at your house, may not correspond to the temp in the neighborhood, the city, the state, the region, the country, the continent, or the globe.

They are part of the bigger picture. Maybe next we will go over how the Sun does not revolve around you.

I think its a potentially good sign. We do not need to be feared by the world if we can be respected.

There are some that need only fear us as some cultures are incapable of respect. Despotic nations need to fear us. Freedom loving nations will respect us.

Reassuring picture on Fox just a few minutes…. Buckwheat shaking hands with Chavez who just called him an idiot about three months ago. He is so full of apologies to other countries and something else I will not mention that he thinks that his narcissism will be served if everyone just likes him. News Flash, Buckwheat…… that does not make our country safe and does not promote our image abroad. It just shows what a dumba** this lightweight is. He belongs in the Boy Scouts.

Nor do the deadbeats of the world work as hard as I do to achieve the success that I have. Oh, I’m sorry, what am I thinking of, speaking of work in a conversation with some liberals. That’s awfully rude. Pardon me.

I like this, the first day I ever laid eyes on this Obozo i said that he wanted to destroy the United States and make it stupid and f’ed up like the rest of the world, bookman got mad at me, the brainwashed squealed, eewwww!, and sure enough, here they are, espousing the same destruction of our standard of living that I said they would.

No liberals, don’t try to lift up the rest of the world from grinding poverty, let’s kneecap ourselves down to their level so we “feel” better, aawwwwwww, how sweet.

Morons.

jewcowboy,

when we lived in Gwinnett, we only had room for about a 10 x 20′ garden. Now, we have a little more room but lots of pines as well.
