To all the puppets who are dancing to Beverly Scott’s threats, stop the blaming the politicians and start holding Marta accountable. It is laughable that Marta is talking about eliminating service one whole day a week. We all know that they can cut schedules back and still serve most, if not all of the routes, they currently do. Beverly Scott is making these threats to get access to money they know has been set aside for capital improvements and is using your fear to help. Marta has made bad business decisions and are trying to avoid fixing the real problem - inefficient leadership. Job losses or pay losses are tough things - I have first hand knowledge - but propping up a tax eating vacuum will only make things worse. Like any real business, Marta needs to find a way to make it work by attracting new riders (another subject all together) or go the way of the dinosaur.

For those that they think the capital improvement fund is Marta’s money, it is not. It is taxpayer’s money. If Marta is allowed to raid that fund, they will only be going back to the taxpayer when the time comes for capital improvements.

Please start focusing on the real problems and not rhetoric that someone wants you to believe.

Decades of underinvestment in roads and rail must be reversed, everyone agrees. Yet no candidate wants to dwell on the words “tax” and “increase” in a Republican primary.-Urinal

Nope, that is a tag that you democrats are going to wear around your necks in 2010 and beyond.

Enjoy it!

Addendum to my 7:38:

Police presence would be spread out proportionally 24 hours a day and utilized for something besides traffic fender benders and parking violations. Eliminating peak periods for other services sould also be benificial.

Man, all this figuring is making me tired.

Last I looked, we already have a lot of roads and they are getting more complicated to drive even with well-engineered signs, lights and special lanes. But if you drive around at night you may come across a shopping buggy or some hoods in a loud car as far as traffic. The street lights are on so we would be that much ahead. Just leave the business lights on that were burning during the day for the next 12 hour shift or turn them on for the first time for businesses that can run at night. Seems like that would spread out the gridlock and the polution and save money on night watchmen. The roads are there, they are not used to their full potential. Throw in some tax incentives to make it look more attractive to businesses and it's a done deal.

My bad @ 8.53. Wasn't a salami, just a solo shot, last night, by Jordan Schafer.

Still not too shabby for a first MLB at-bat.

Correction:

Vote the incompetent Georgia legislatures bums out of office during the next elections. What are the Legislatures in office for if they can't pass simple transportation bills? The Georgia legislatures and the Governor are a waste of tax payer money. Oh yea GA legislatures, when all those textile mills and factories finish closing down in rural Georgia, don't bother increasing taxes in metro Atlanta to support rural Georgia because you don't support anything metro Atlanta anyway.

How about John Rich's new one? Guess I was mistaken about us subsidizing the farmers and sending bail-out money to Detroit. See, that's what kind of lyrics you end up with after spending a couple of months in Glenn Beck's butt.
