Taxpayer

Well, I too like to ask that of someone who's opinion I'm not familiar with. In the past any talk of a 'liberal media' - even specific newspapers or stations - was met with instant derision. Or was rebutted with "What about Fox? Or the WSJ editorial page?!?" So I'm always on the lookout for new insight.

Like I said, I think most stations (or whatever we call them now) have a mix. Which is why I tend to specify certain anchors or personalities.

Stewart's causing some conservatives a bit of puzzlement - he's been given a gift by some Pres Obama admirers and news organizations and he isn't letting it go to waste! When I was visiting my son he'd recorded a bunch of Daily Shows - his recorder handles megahours - and I was amazed how many of his guests were what I'd describe a right of middle - authors, other people. Even when he had on the retired Chairman, JCS from the time in Iraq I was amazed at how respectful and pretty much nonchallenging Stewart was (he was there to talk about his book). Stewart made some pretty complimentary comments and I was hoping for just one question along the lines of "General, can I ask you something about Iraq from about six months after the invasion to about five years later? What were you guys thinking?!!?"

Paul,

The only ones that I see trying to claim that there's only one side to a coin are those conservatives (Republicans). So, I like to flip things over and see what's on the other side. Helps keep things more fair and balanced. Sort of like when Colbert takes on Beck or Stewart goes after Santelli or Obama reminds us that we're here thanks to Bush.

That's comedy. Don't know of many today who can pull that off. So if it was about Democrats and their budget I guess they'd have the guys reaching in the oven and pulling out tray after tray after tray piled high with cookies. Nonstop. It's free cookie time!

I hear the media and others of the left fringe mentality have found a new recipe for successful ratings. It’s called the Fox Bash.

Regarding your earlier, cite? If you're speaking of the Hannities and Becks, well, yeah, those are entertainers with an agenda. Wasn't Beck on CNN before Fox. If you're speaking of the news shows - this has been covered before. Weren't you around then? During the election Pew Research showed the news shows on Fox were nearly evenly split on the number of favorable/unfavorable shows for the nominees, were within about a percentage point on Obama compared to McCain. Clinton said she got more fair treatment from Fox than the other networks. O'Reilly and Pres Obama discussed Pres Obama's comment about Fox bias and he acknowledged it was pretty well the entertainers (I'd include the cast of the early morning Today Show equivalent in that group, strikes me as a combo Today/View format).

Anyhow, strikes me as judging MSNBC by Olberman or Mathews, or referring to them as 'news.' I think more stations are way beyond that and many have quite a mix or hard news, commentary, entertainers and such.

On the flip side, did you see John Stewart's piece about 'are the networks gushing over the Obamas?" Two sides of the same coin.

Well, jump in folks.

In Georgia now you can use "deadly force" during a car-jacking; period. You don't even have to see a weapon. It's assumed. Shouldn't an unborn child be more important than a car?

I agree that Fox should not be calling Oblahma the Anti Christ; somehow I doubt that Satan would send such a dunce and bozo as this to do his bidding.

Perhaps he is a tool of evil, I suppose, but the only thing this klown is going to destroy is the democrat party.

hahahahaha

Well, close enough for government work .......... :o)

To All:

HEADLINE/STRASBOURG, France – "France and Germany fully endorsed President Barack Obama's new Afghan war strategy but continued to firmly resist U.S. demands for more combat troops on Saturday in a rift that overshadowed symbols of unity at NATO's 60th-anniversary summit."

This is why we are the "de facto" world's policeman. No other freedom loving country is willing or more importantly "able" to do it. Take the United States out of the equation and WWIII, WWIV, etc. would have already happened .............
