Rush! The Musical!

I think this is the fantasy dream sequence, in which Rush drops 60 pounds and 30 years.

I figured Steele’s backbone would fold pretty quick. And did it ever. He was real defiant on TV and then reality smacked him in the face. So he prostrate himself before Rush quicker than Larry Craig could. Rahm Emanuel is playing this thing out to perfection. The GOP will have Rush tied around its neck like a ball and chain!

Wow…..this is near laughable.

Democrats inferring some hero-worship behavior and demands for “grovelling” at the footsteps within the conservative movement. This from the party whose candidate built a complete made-for-television event & stage on which he accepted their nomination among Greek columns. This from the party whose elected President functionally uses the “mainstream media” as a de facto PR agengy investing more effort managing and directing the daily news cycle more so than actually governing. This from the party whose elected President deigns to assume that -his- administration can somehow successfully implement a tax-and-spend, deficit-to-debt, spend-to-prosperity philosophy that has been an abject failure at every time that it is tried. This from the party who responds with impunity to those who simply highlight the dismal consequences of their chosen direction and show how it has served to hinder achievement and all-together destroy the lives of those whom they claim to “help”.

Accusing others of some holier-than-thou self-righteousness, now that is chutzpah!

I never have read so many negative and derisive comments about one man who is not actually in the political arena in my life.

From Jay on down to this merry little troupe of trolls, you must fear Limbaugh beyond anyhting certainly I can well imagine, to lambaste him so.

I know Jay’s rationale, he is diverting you mindless fools away from the ever growing massive failure of The Messiah and his band of thieves (Democrats) to deal with the economy; talk about in over your head, Obama is at the bottom of the Mariana Trench with a shovel in his hands….now, doesn’t that evoke an image.

From the late Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931 – 2005

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom.

What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government
does not first take from somebody else.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

Enjoy your little digs on Limbaugh, he is as much of a non-factor in his arena as you are here.

Rush is loving it.

Only a small part of the federal budget goes directly to the poor. Social Security, defense, interest on the national debt, Medicare, Medicaid and homeland security make up about 2/3 of it. But that welfare money spends just as well as that Lockheed check. Consumer spending makes up 2/3 OF GDP.

The shining light of hope for America is that previous major socialist efforts have not had to deal with a populace that had open communication and easy access to information. Let’s hope that Jay and the rest of his information lieutenants in the Obama press fail in their efforts to misinform. Jay, haven’t read a lot of meaty articles about how bad the economy is getting and how it is the fault of the Obama masterful effort. You seem to be focusing on everything else instead of the harsh truths hitting you in the face. When the dust settles, your effort to create sameness amongst us all, equally failed and downtrodden, will only serve to flush out the system. Your socialist efforts will only lengthen the time and force more to suffer for longer. Way to go, I guess you are proud.

Libs fear Limbaugh? Every time that flatulent gasbag breaks wind on air, it’s pure comedy – though admittedly, leaving a displeasing stench. The only people who actually fear Limbaugh are the GOP toadies who keep genuflecting and grabbing their ankles every time he utters a peep of displeasure. Though it is entertaining to watch them grovel at the feet of the rotund god they’ve created for themselves.

Yesterday RW asked me for an example of Rush’s strawman rhetoric. As an exercise I clicked on the first transcript I saw linked from Rush’s website and worked with that.

But I probably should’ve gone instead for the low-hanging fruit of Rush’s infamous CPAC speech over the weekend; I’d not heard anything beyond a short clip of his “I hope he fails” = “I’m rooting for the Steelers” analogy. (which is disturbing on another level, but I’ll leave that for now.)

Here, RW, and anyone else who cares, is the strawman from that part of that speech which, again, is all I’ve actually heard so far–maybe there are better examples elsewhere in the CPAC speech…

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_030209/content/01125106.guest.html

This notion that I want the President to fail, folks, this shows you a sign of the problem we’ve got. That’s nothing more than common sense and to not be able to say it, why in the world do I want what we just described, rampant government growth indebtedness, wealth that’s not even being created yet that is being spent, what is in this? What possibly is in this that anybody of us wants to succeed? Did the Democrats want the war on Iraq to fail! They certainly did.

Forget for a moment that this assertion that “Democrats [wanted] the war on Iraq to fail” is utterly unsupported by any evidence whatsoever in this speech–I don’t expect a speech to contain footnotes and cites. It’s just willfully offensive. It’s the sort of bomb-throwing Rush has specialized in, which I’ve heard for literally over twenty years. and oh yeah, it’s a lie; Rush would not be able to find any prominent Democrat, let alone establish a halfway decent case that such things were said in the “fever swamps” among online progressives, that Democratic voters wanted the war in Iraq to fail.

But Rush said it, and will surely continue to say it, anyway. And it’s the sort of thing that his followers feel compelled all too often to support. In fact, I’m fairly certain someone will reply to this and try to take some horribly out of context statement (another Rush speciality) to “prove” that Democrats “wanted us to fail in Iraq.”

And yeah I realize there are some conservatives in here who, laudably, do not get Rush’s back when he’s criticized, but way too many feel that they must or else… what? The rhetorical house of cards falls? The witch melts?

Rush says he wants Obama to fail, and then clarifies he wants Obama’s policies to fail. So he’s saying he wants America to fail. A true patriot. You seem to be saying the same thing. Why, because then you would have to admit you were wrong? These are unprecedented times and demand drastic action. For the sake of all of us, let’s hope Obama succeeds.

Midori, unless/until it’s decriminalized, effectively, our elected democrats are demanding that recreational drug users should be jailed, or at least criminally prosecuted. Boo!

I would like to see decriminalization moved up on the agenda, since it’s indisputably a drain on resources. Outright legalization would likely have a stimulative effect, although it’d be unrealistic to imagine that such a thing would happen during the first term.

Although maybe beefed-up treatment programs could have a stimulative effect, since they’d put people to work…

These reactionaries still live firmly in the days of LBJ and colored restrooms.

Woefully undereducated on most matters of import, they refuse to see that this economic meltdown is unlike anything in our history. They don’t fathom the causes nor the incredible depth of the underlying corruption and it’s effects.

They still desperately cling to a model which says, oh it’s been a few weeks, it’s time for the market to go right back up! They think confidence in Wall Street is just gonna return no matter that the same crooks and swindlers who took the bailout money (OUR money) are still in place.

Americans have welcomed the Obama era in the same spirit of hope the President campaigned on. But after five weeks in office, it’s become clear that Mr. Obama’s policies are slowing, if not stopping, what would otherwise be the normal process of economic recovery. From punishing business to squandering scarce national public resources, Team Obama is creating more uncertainty and less confidence — and thus a longer period of recession or subpar growth.
