Oh, and another thing–cite, please, for those countries you’ve just claimed are “seeing growth in their economies and in corporate investment.” how many of these countries eliminated their income tax in favor of a sales tax. How long has this claimed “growth” been taking place? Is it a bubble?

I’m thinking the answers will be “none,” “I dunno”, and “you LIBRAZLS HATE AMERICA!!1!!”

DB, thanks for showing your ignorance on the FairTax. Either that,or your deliberately lying.

The Fair Tax is NOT a VAT. Never has been. Never will be. And any country that has tried a national sales tax is seeing growth in their economies and in corporate investment. How are we doing again on that economic front, DB?

Just like all the opponents of the FairTax. If you can’t argue logically about it, just change the rules. Pathetic.

The very fact that Bookman resides in GA and has to ask why we don’t like a San Franciso democrat is a reflection of how out of touch he is with the good people of Georgia.

And why not try it? EVERYTHING ELSE has been tried; lower taxes, higher taxes, capital gains taxes, estate taxes – you name it they have all been tried and they have all failed in one way or another.

Why are you libs afraid of trying something new? Afraid it might work?

1) It’s not especially new. Lots of countries have some kind of national VAT. They have the good sense to combine it with other revenue streams.

2) The reason it hasn’t been tried is because there’s no earthly reason to depend solely on a VAT for revenue. The reasons it sucks have been posted so many times I’m not going to bother with them here.

It. will. never. be. passed. And it’s hardly just “libs” who think you Fairy Tale Taxers are nutballs.

Hey, DB, I KNOW what the FairTax is. And I know it is a 23% tax, not a 30% tax. and I know it REPLACES the current taxes built into every good sold, not adds to it. And I KNOW what will happen if we ever implement it, because I understand how a market-based economy works, which liberals like you do not.

Why are you libs afraid of trying something new? Afraid it might work? Afraid you’ll lose power over people if you don’t try to control their behavior through tax policy? It certainly can’t be worse than what we have now.

Based upon the comments made regarding Nancy Pelosi, I think it’s safe to say they hate her because the democrats are large and in charge. The conservatives on this blog are still upset about the 2006 upset, which put Nancy in charge. I think they would be just as upset if any other democrat was Speaker.

They are upset because President Obama WON, I think they are still in shock & awe. The conservatives can’t believe that the American people are sick of them. They are still under the impression that the people who voted for the democrats (President, US Reps and Congress) are unintelligent, uneducated and lazy – at least that’s what they tell themselves on a daily basis. The conservatives believe that most democrats want handouts, just want to grow government and don’t believe in GOD, Life or the pursuit of happiness.

To the conservatives/republicans on this blog I say, GET A CLUE.

It’s not about Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, etc….. or Mr.Bush and Mr Steele any longer. It is about the Economy, Credit and Housing Crisis STUPID.

Hey, degrees! I have an undergraduate from Taylor University in the heart of rural Indiana, a non denominational Christian college. I have my Master’s from the old party school, Ball State University. My husband is retired Army. We raised 5 kids. Do I get some kind of kudos or bragging rights?

My biggest complaint about Pelosi is she didn’t muster impeachment for bush and cheney.
