from the delusion neo-cons will be:
- any improvements are from the the Reagan policies
- tax cuts from Bush are fixing the economy
- the surge is starting to work
- we are starting to more back to core conservative values.

Nice glamour shot, Jay. Looks as if pollster.com is letting ACORN select the sample. One certainly could not divine this growing confidence from negative chatter from even the most leftist of the Liberaliban tents, the Washington Post and NY (almost outta)Times

The rest of his agenda will be delayed until his second term.

Going to be a long eight years for those with ODS.

Actually, RW, I tried to put some commentary text with that but when I did the chart disappeared. So I went with the chart alone and tried to make the point with the headline.

Just working through the glitches … thanks for your concern.

Believe It or Not, Rush Limbaugh Was Right on Stimulus

By Mort Kondracke

I can’t believe I’m writing this, but Rush Limbaugh actually has (or had) a good idea on the stimulus. Or, at least the germ of one.

On his radio show Jan. 26 and in the Wall Street Journal Jan. 29, America’s arch-polarizer — amazingly enough — proposed the outlines of a reasonable bipartisan stimulus package of both spending and tax cuts.

It may be moot now, given an apparent House-Senate-administration agreement, but Limbaugh’s contribution illustrates how decision-making on the stimulus might have proceeded usefully — and how to think about fighting recessions.

The proposal was couched, of course, in Limbaugh’s customary disdain for government spending (”porkulus”) and disparagement of Democratic Party motives, but it contained a genuinely bipartisan idea.

Which was: President Barack Obama won 53 percent of the two-party vote last year and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) won 46 percent, so Obama would dictate the contents of 53 percent of the stimulus and Republicans — Limbaugh said, “me” — would dictate 46 percent.

Jay, you refer to you refer to your failure to text with the chart as one among “glitches.” Had President Bush encountered the same problem you, undoubtedly refered to it as grossly negligent use of the system that is the root cause of the decline in American life. How about you don’t spin things and address reality by saying something like, “I still do not understand how to use the new blog and I could not put text with the chart>” As real goodt travelling music, ET, says, “Those rose colored glasses, they hide all the truth……”

I’ts getting uglier and uglier on the right. Rush is nearly apoplectic,
BOR already is, Malkin is calling Obama the worst President ever, Hannity is hysterical, freepers are going bonkers, the wingnuttiest

And still they have not learned the lesson of the last election.

Obama is trusted and well liked by a large majoity of Americans. We are going to cut him some slack.

And just as during the election process, attacks on a man most see as decent and brilliant, backfire.

Keep it up dudes, you’ll figure out you’re burning your last bridge sometime – or maybe not.

Byll,

Do you have information, data, evidence or facts that contradict this chart? I’d like to see it.

Obama is in for one helluva rough ride. I know the neoliths absolutely hate hearing this (as if not saying it would make it go away) but BHO, and the rest of the nation, have inherited a clusterf&ck of proportions not seen in a hundred years or more.

Arguably, the worst administration in American history is gone. The let’s start a war in the wrong country chickenhawks are toast. The non-conservative conservative ideology has been mortally wounded and is officially irrelevant.

As much as some of you loons desperately want to, there is no going back. Not to Dumb & Dumber. Not to Ronnie and Eddie.

In my opinion, Obama doesn’t have the stomach to clean up the cesspool he’s been left. So things are going to improve much. But even your mythical savior would have his hands full dealing with what The Hero of the Texas ANG left him.

And us.

Goodbye, America! It Was Fun While It Lasted

by Ann Coulter

It’s bad enough when illiterate jurors issue damages awards in the billions of dollars because they don’t grasp the difference between a million and a billion. Now it turns out the Democrats don’t know the difference between a million and a trillion.

Why not make the “stimulus bill” a kazillion dollars?

All Americans who work for a living, or who plan to work for a living sometime in the next century, are about to be stuck with a trillion-dollar bill to fund yet more oppressive government bureaucracies. Or as I call it, a trillion dollars and change.

The stimulus bill isn’t as bad as we had expected — it’s much worse. Instead of merely creating useless, make-work jobs digging ditches — or “shovel-ready,” in the Democrats’ felicitous phrase — the “stimulus” bill will create an endless army of government bureaucrats aggressively intervening in our lives. Instead of digging ditches, American taxpayers will be digging our own graves.

There are hundreds of examples in the 800-page “stimulus” bill, but here are just two.

First, the welfare bureaucrats are coming back.

For half a century, the welfare establishment had the bright idea to pay women to have children out of wedlock. Following the iron laws of economics — subsidize something, you get more of it; tax it, you get less of it — the number of children being born out of wedlock skyrocketed.

That chart and headline? Much of economic conditions such as this is driven by the psychological. If the general groundswell is growing confidence, then the first cracks in the dam appear. If the credit markets begin to crack, then we’re on our way.

Ok, how is this supposed to stimulate the economy? I wish I were this mouse.

Pelosi’s mouse slated for $30M slice of cheese

S.A. Miller

Talk about a pet project. A tiny mouse with the longtime backing of a political giant may soon reap the benefits of the economic-stimulus package.

Lawmakers and administration officials divulged Wednesday that the $789 billion economic stimulus bill being finalized behind closed doors in Congress includes $30 million for wetlands restoration that the Obama administration intends to spend in the San Francisco Bay Area to protect, among other things, the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi represents the city of San Francisco and has previously championed preserving the mouse’s habitat in the Bay Area.

The revelation immediately became a political football, as Republicans accused Democrats of reneging on a promise to keep so-called earmarks that fund lawmakers’ favorite projects out of the legislation. Democrats, including Mrs. Pelosi, countered that the accusations were fabricated.

you may not like the jobs assigned to Minnie, Mickey, Mighty, Jerry, Stuart, and that trio of sight impaired – but they are jobs that pay wages to folks who pay rent or mortgages and buy food and clothes.

Aahhh, yes, any tiny little glimmer of hope is now proof positive that baraKKK is indeed a blessing on mankind, where once the same news would have produced heaping mountains of bile and disdain from the kook left wing, I wonder what has “changed,” hmmm?

I wouldn’t get so gleeful just yet-

1) The stock market is forward looking and if another plummet of the Dow today is any indication, they do not like what they see.

2) Lower gas and energy prices are the same thing as a tax cut, and sure enough, surprise, surprise, consumer spending is up, gee, who would have thought?

Problem is, the goon left and their junk science environmental terrorists are in charge so you can kiss this blessing good bye, they are itching to deny domestic energy production and longing to kick in some new taxes, I say summer 09 will be the glorious return of 4 dollars a gallon.

Hello depression.

3) People getting laid off by the gads are not going to be spending the way the left is “praying” that they will, regardless if baraKKK heaps the big 8 dollah a week bounty on them or not.

What did we lose last month, something like 600,000 irresponsible, wasteful and resource hogging spenders from the economy?

Imagine how that effect will feel.

I seem to remember a time not-so-long ago when the mere criticism of George W. Bush was enough to qualify you as an America-hater, a terrorist sympathizer, or worse. Yes, the wingnuts were in control back then, and they loved their President with a fanaticism seldom seen around these parts, and damn you to hell if you disagreed.

Well, folks, the tables have turned, the criticism turned out to be accurate, it cost the Republicans the Congress and the presidency, and now, just a handful of weeks in, the wingnuts are now vilifying our new Commander in Chief with such rancor that it’s disturbing to the vast majority of us who voted him into office in the first place.

We are still at war. The President is still the Commander in Chief. And the wingnut BO Hate Club is showing its true colors – colors they created themselves: they hate America, they want the terrorists to win, and they need to leave our great nation if they don’t stand with our President.

c’ajc, yeah, TISCWSLABMUZ is a classic although like (say) Space Mutiny, I suspect the movie would be hysterically funny even without the riffing.

Hard for me to say which two or three I love most–so many of them are so good–but from the Joel era I’ll put in a word for Manos, and Pod People.

When Mike was at the helm of the SoL, let’s not forget the amazing Giant Spider Spider Invasion and…

Prince of Space! “What’s wrong with boot blacking? We like it very much!”

Mrs. G, I guess it’s only ok to restore wetlands if especially lovable critters’ lives are on the line. Maybe if those godless gay-marryin’ San Franciscans tossed a few koala bears into the habitat…

Later, all. (I’ll have a peek at HD’s reply to me).
