Health Reform Repeal Bill

Republicans in the U.S. House have decided to force a vote next week on a two page, GOP plan that would repeal the Obama Administration’s health reform law.

The plan would not pick and choose what should be repealed from the law – it would do away with all of the Democratic Party’s health reform changes.

Here is the text of the bill:

Could it be? Nah, but it’s a nice start. I want to see what Senators vote against this bill.

Bravo, TEA Party congress.

This is terrific! Kudos to Mr. Cantor and all his co-sponsors and to all who will support this bill.

Man, do I love that title. That bill will die a quick death in whatever Senate committee is responsible for it, but it’ll be fun to watch that House vote.

So they are doing this just for show? Than again I guess maybe they do want to take away health care from a sick child that is being coverd by the new law after their parents were out of work long enough to lose their health insurance. Making the childs illness a pre-existing condition.

Whatever works for you I guess.

[...] It will take only a small 2 page House bill to repeal the 2700-page Obama/Dem job-killing healthcare ……. [...]

A Proud American,
Nice comment, but, unfortunately, it points out the discrepancy between your comment, and your “name”. If you were actually a “Proud American”, you would know the actual law and recognize the discrepancy between your “name” and your comment!
Seems to me that your “name” should be “Stupid Liberal”!
Try reading the actual law, and understanding it, before making idiotic comments next time.

Whatever works for you, I guess!

Here is what BO care gets me with pre-existing conditions: 694.00 per month, 20,000.00 deductible for family, doc visits not covered, meds not covered but they will give me a discount card, hospital 20 percent copay after deductible is met same with xrays and other test ordered by my no paid pc doc or specialist, 1 FREE yearly check up for the whole family. Man I love that BO he has made life great for me! Gez at this rate I think I will sign up today and kiss his feet when I see him the next time. And just think this will only cost me a bit more in taxes. I think I need to re-read those 3000 pages maybe there are some more goodies in there I missed! Thank you ole great one.

The Republicans are the blood-sucking spawn of pure evil. Which party would want to take away a sick person’s right to get medical care? Republicans. Which party would like to take away your right to keep your children on your medical insurance until they’re 26? The Republicans. Which party wants you to be denied medical coverage after your benefits reach a certain dollar point ? The Republicans. If the Republicans insist on repealing Obamacare then they will be KILLED in the 2012 election and Barack will simply veto the bill.. Even now they can’t come up with a single Republican who is more popular than Barack Obama.Wake up Republicans Obamacare is now as firmly entrenced as Social Security. Hey Mark. I hear ya on the tear jerking parts of the bill. Sorry, the govt does not have the right to make me buy healthcare. Filling out 1099s by companies for all expenses over $600 has nothing to do with healthcare. I dont think one Republican would have a prob with helping any that you mentioned. the unintended consequences out weigh your tear jerkers….sorry…let’s work another plan…you willing?

Mark, Maybe you are perfectly willing to give up some of your Gof given Constitutional freedoms to achieve what you think is a “right” to healthcare.

I AM NOT!

Get your thieving hands out of my pocket to grab my hard-earned money using the strong arm of the government to accomplish your Utopian wishes.

Everyone agreed the healthcare system needed an overhaul. It was said 70% of the healthcare bill had bypartisan support so why repeal all of it? Through out the unconstitutional parts and what cannot be payed for and keep the rest.

Undoubtedly a nice start of our 112 Congress, however we all know that the Senate will most certainly stike it down. Nonetheless, lets get those Senators on the record for the “day of Tea Party reckoning is forthcoming”.

Rob I don’t think everyone agreed to this “it was siad 70%”, its more like 10%. Overhauling the greatest health care system in the world is just plain hogwash!

1. The reps claimed earlier : Are you listening to people ?

The biggest concern about the economy is a job market, (according to CNN polling, voters said that unemployment is roughly twice as important as all other top issues combined.)

(a) The reps do not know how to create jobs, they just have a bunch of general vague ideas that are good for TV spots and adds, but no detailed plans except to go back to business as usual. So all they can do is grandstand and complain and moan. That is a lot easer that actually coming up with ideas that work.

(b) So even though the reps KNOW they can’t overturn the new healthcare law, they are going to waste time and money making more NOISE about it just to stir up their base for the 2012 election. It’s not like there’s anything else for them to do.

And the reps are the first to point and cry about government waste while at the same time they are wasting tax payer money doing it.

2. The reps claimed earlier : Are you listening to people ?

(a) The vast majority of the PEOPLE wanted the public option that the House passed and a majority of the Senate favored, but it couldn’t get past the Republican filibuster.

Many voters who oppose the law actually want stronger provisions, not weaker. There remains strong majority support for the public option and stronger laws against industry price-fixing.

(b) The healthcare law will not be repealed. Attempts to repeal healthcare reform will be a big loser for Republicans. Some of the most vehement Republicans pushing for repeal will find their seats endangered in 2012 because of it.

3. The reps are chanting the deficit cut.

(a) Inaction cost, $9trillion over the next decade. Without ACA, health costs will skyrocket, leading to more personal, corporate, and governmental bankruptcy.

(b) The insurers set up a monopoly via consolidation violating an anti-trust law.

(c) The biggest 10 healthcare providers are driven mostly to please Wall Street and must show growing profits every three months in their reports to wall Street or their stocks values go down. So healthcare prices climb at an unreasonable rate at the expense of everyone involved.

Mark – Please point to the constitutional precedent that establishes a right to government funded healthcare. Take your time; I understand that this is a difficult task. Perhaps you could pervert the Commerce Clause in some new and creative way, like your socialist overseers so often do. Also, in what bizarre culture of personal irresponsibility is a 26 year old man or woman a “child”? The culture of dependency you apparently value so highly is quintessentially un-American. If you disagree, you are simply ignorant. Read the Constitution and the Federalist Papers. The greatest thing the current administration has done in the last two years has been to open the eyes of those who were otherwise indifferent to the evils of socialism. You’re a dying breed, my friend, and that couldn’t make me any happier.

healthcare cost is going to skyrocket as long as there is health “insurance”. The liberal socialists only intent was to regulate the insurance companies and make providers ration health care – that is the true cost – not the $$. The socialist government wants dependent citizens so they have their undivided vote to keep them in power and in the money.

HRS0601 – Please cite the constitutional precedent that obligates Congress to “create jobs”. I will save you some time; there is none. Read Article I.

It is the market’s role to create jobs, and it is the individual citizen’s job to regulate business with their purchasing power and by freely persuing employment in a competitive job market. It is the government’s role to get the hell out of its way.
