Miami Screaming Eagle, I’m trying to figure out your handle. I’ve heard of the Boston College Screaming Eagles, and Miami Redhawks/Redskins (Ohio), and Miami Hurricanes, but I can’t place them all together. Lest it be a combination of graduate and undergraduate schools.

Red Light – just throwing some things around, no idea if the Sharp deal will take place. Not sure I want to dump Todd or Colby either. Just as long as Campbell is not part of any deal.

Sabres-my hometown team showed their real colors last weekend against Philly and Boston. In addition, they have no backup goaltending, so Miller will get worked to the bone. Gotta think Marty may come home later this year.

I just don’t see Buffalo being any better than 7th place in the end. Not unless Darcy can pull a trade out of his hat or somewhere else…..

Barker is a valuable PP commodity and would make an excellent addition, here or anywhere. He’s an unheralded d-man but I don’t see that subtraction coming from Chicago.

If Atlanta does a trade with Chicago, I’d want to take Cam Barker for Boris Valabik, and never look back. Including sweetening it up for them. Not that I wouldn’t like to have Sharp. I definitely would. But I cannot come up with a trade scenario that doesn’t insult the Blackhawks. Okay, I’m sure they’d take Kovy–sheesh you LITERALISTS have got to start getting a grip.

Smoothie: I understand that they are looking for a center, just not White at $2.45 million this year and $2.6 million next year. Last year, White’s production on the PP of 12 points was a career high, while his previous high was 8 in ‘03. He has 45 career PP points in 584 games. Since 2002-03, White has spent 1,616:56 minutes of ice time on the PP (more than 27 hours) and has recorded 39 points, or roughly one point every 48 minutes of ice time. Who wouldn’t want that kind of production.

Actually Red light, they may be looking for a center:

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES: Len Ziehm recently reported a nagging back problem for second line center Dave Bolland should have GM Stan Bowman shopping around for a replacement, perhaps one who can help their struggling power-play.

Last time I checked, Todd White is a center and he has loads of PP time…not to mention familiarity with old pal Marian Hossa.

More than likely, they are looking for a young player who is being paid under $1 million or a player that has a year left on their contract and could aid them in the pursuit of a Stanley Cup this year, while also freeing up $3.9 million in salary next year to put towards their 3 main RFA’s, Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and Duncan Keith. ”

Now, why the Hawks would do something now rather than at the deadline, or even wait to the end of the year I don’t know…Hossa coming back has no cap implications, does it (the old LTIR question)?
