The Thrashers quit against the Sens. That was theme today in Georgia college/pro sports! Sigh. Hope malady does not carry over to Falcons tomorrow afternoon. Been a real shet sports weekend to date! Nighty night all.

Early and late goals simply must not be tolerated! THEY ARE KILLERS! Let me down tonight Pevs. Do not allow those ignorant Sori Letemin worshippers any room to call for your ouster when the LaLa Land reject is off IR (notice I did not say healthy). Do not allow team any excuse to yank you for that untalented pile of Finn shet! Tighten up. Peace.

Colorado is surpring me this year. They're hanging tough with the Blackhawks with 11:00 left in the 3rd. It's still knotted at 3-3. Columbus' goalie is keeping them in the Jackets game with the Yotes. That's 1-0, after two periods. These are the games that, if Columbus is going to return to the playoffs for a second straight year, they've got to win. Remember, Columbus FIRED their GM, Doug MacLean, after a mid-70's point finish in 2007. They opted to take the Assistant GM from Edmonton, Scott Howson, to improve their fortunes. Well, it has worked so far. Columbus made the playoffs, but didn't win any games, drawing a tough 1st round opponent in Detroit. Meanwhile in Atlanta, the GM remains, with no playoffs since 2007. Remember, starting in 2007, I said we have to compare ourselves to a couple of team to measure we're doing. Once of those teams is Columbus. Another is Tampa Bay. The Bolts took Stampkos and Hedman, in a 1st overall and 2nd overall capacity. Atlanta went with Bogosian and Kane, in a 3rd overall and 4th overall situation. We should also keep a watchful eye out on the L.A. Kings, who have been perennial lottery draft citizens during much of our downstretches, as well. And let's not forget Phoenix and Nashville, as markets that are fighting a "learning curve" as non-traditional markets, with hamstrung budgets.

If anyone's up and reading, Columbus and Phoenix are locked in a 1-0 affair, with the Blue Jackets holding the edge, out in Phoenix, with roughly 3:45 seconds to go in the 2nd. Lots of good hockey to see, if you're at home tonight.

So, what went wrong with the Thrashers tonight? Stop. You didn't actually expect 82-0-0, did you?

That was SPIRITED finish, out in LA! Kings do win it, though, 2-1. J. Quick held the fort the Kings in net.

The Blues are down, 2-1, with less than a minute in regulation. The St. Louis net is empty.

It's a final, from Nashville. 1-0, Sabres over the Predators, on the Mike Grier goal. Tim Kennedy got his 1st NHL point with the assist.

They gave an assist to Butler, on the Grier goal. Who the heck is Butler? Must be a prospect the Sabres are developing.
