Kari will be FREE to sign anywhere he jolly well wants, provided that the team he covets also desires to have him on its roster. In other words, the only way the Thrashers can re-sign Kari is if Kari WANTS to re-sign here ANNND that the Thrashers WANT HIM HERE. There very well could be a mutual parting of ways. If the Thrashers intended to go long with Kari, and that Kari wanted to make a longterm commitment to Atlanta, that contract probably would have materialized earlier this summer. Instead, a one-year deal was signed. Who knows? Perhaps Kari will play the 2010-11 season in his native Finland. That's certainly his right and decision to make.
