I'm glad HAVELID said that... The truth hurts. That's what we need here, a nice REALITY CHECK.

Sharon -- That's what I thought...my assumption was it was a funny comment made by a blog dude. Much like Rawhide giving his take on the trade. I like to think that Havelid is a much smarter man than to diss the Thrashers in such a blatant way on the way out of town.

ranallo - The same comment that Rawhide and Brendan are referring to. With it wrapped in quotation marks it appears to come from Havelid. Maybe we're all mistaken, who knows.

Since Avery was claimed off the waiver wires by the Rangers and this is his second time as a Ranger, doesn't that make Avery a sloppy second?

Interesting link from Yahoo sports

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/The-Trade-Bait-30-players-that-could-stay-or-go;_ylt=AjH6TUDt3GVrDTuwfhBs.Il7vLYF?urn=nhl,145136

It should make Stendec happy that they think we're going to trade Lehtonen.

They did predict that we would trade Havelid but to the wrong team.

And Jimbo, I did point out that Salmonella is the new style of defenseman that JA wants. Whether he fits the mold or is actually a player who fits the mold is a question which needs answering.

We tend to have bad luck with Finns... KRAPANEN, LEHTONEN... I think TOMI KALLIO was prrobably our best Finn, but I'm sure I'm forgetting some people...

On paper this may not look like a great trade but I like it.

Coach Anderson seems to have a very good read on young talent. The players that he's brought in have (for the most part) improved this team. It maybe early, but I think Coach Anderson has shown a good ability to identify talent, bring it in and working on the ice.

Also, fits Salmela fits J.A's system. Coach Anderson is an offense first system. He is going to score more goals than the other team. He's looking for every player to contribute on offense and Salmela is that kind of player.

Finally, if all this is true then I think it shows that D.W. is listening to J.A. regarding the roster. And that could be the best sign yet!

Here is a link to a scouting report on Anssi Salmela:
